We are only 15 minutes away from Mad River Glen Ski Resort, less than half hour away from Sugarbush Ski Resort, and about 35 minutes from the Middlebury Snow Bowl (Breadloaf Campus). We are only 30 minutes from Middlebury and 50 minutes from Burlington. Our location makes it the perfect place to relax after a day of enjoying the local sights, shops or seasonal activities. We have a dog, who is friendly and calm, and loves any attention she can get. We are happy to give you directions or suggestions for activities and sight-seeing! This is a such a great area to visit! In terms of booking the space, we would love 48 hours advance notice if possible - this helps us have time to prep and move our schedules around if needed. If you need to book last-minute booking we understand and can usually make it work :-). Also, my husband is a 30 year experienced fly fisherman who guides, if that is something you are interested in! Guest AccessGuests have access to the kitchen as long as you can work around when we will be cooking meals. If you need to store a few things in our fridge that should be fine - just check that there is enough room first for what you plan to store. We have spare coolers and plenty of extra ice on hand so you can always use that if needed. Guests have access to our bathroom - there is only 1 in the house, so it is necessary to plan/communicate shower use! Feel free to eat meals or just hang out & enjoy the views on our back deck patio set! We have free WiFi you can access with a password. Interaction with GuestsOne of us will be present during your stay for the duration or at least part of the duration. We enjoy meeting new people and interacting with our guests, as much as our guests prefer, and our schedules allow! This is the best part of Air BnB! The NeighborhoodQuiet and picturesque dead-end dirt road, with stunning views in all seasons. A very rural area makes for peaceful living with nature adventures just waiting for you. We are in close proximity so several ski areas (15 mins to Mad River Glen, 25 mins to Sugarbush), to several major trail heads (10 mins to Long Trail, 2 miles to Jerusalem Trail), to some amazing restaurants (everything from a smokehouse to vegetarian to local homemade ice cream), and many other interesting attractions! Getting AroundYou'll need your own transportation as there is little to no public transportation in such a rural area! We do not own a cat, but we do foster care for shelter cats and other animals on occasion. We keep the animals out of the guest room in case anyone is allergic.

The SpaceThe house is very modern and minimalistic yet not lacking any comfort. All interior is custom made. Because the house is newly constructed there may be some unfinished elements. The first few months of rental will be a sort of "soft open". Because of this, the rate is discounted. Guest AccessThis house is new, with that comes just a few restrictions. The roof is completely off limits because there are no railings or decking! The master bath is off limits for now. Other than that, the house and property is yours to enjoy. Interaction with GuestsWe will most likely be out of town when you stay at our house. Dont hesitate to contact Bjorn at anytime. Use the house phone if necessary. The NeighborhoodBristol is the closest downtown (10 min drive). It is small, beautiful and has everything you need. There is a great brew pup called The Bobcat, a laid back bar called Hatch 31, The Bristol Bakery and Almost Home Cafe. Bristol also has a Shaws Supermarket, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Bristol Beverage and Champlain Farms Liquor Store. There are hiking trails and swimming holes all over the region, some within walking distance of the house, others are best reached by car. Mad River Glen, Sugarbush and The SnowBowl ski resorts are all about a 30 min drive away. Getting AroundThere are several ways to get to the house. The easiest way is to drive (3.5 hours from Boston, 5 hours from NYC). You can also fly into Burlington or Rutland Airports and rent a car (40 Min drive). One can also take a train to Rutland, VT or Essex, VT and rent a car. It is essential to have a car in order to get around. In the winter months it is advisable to have snow tires or 4 wheel drive. Other Things to NoteThe house was designed with a goal of net zero energy consumption. Solar provides most of the power required to run the house in summer. While geothermal provides the energy to heat the house. With that in mind, please do your best to shut off lights and other appliances when not in use. This house is about 10 mins by car from the closest restaurant, grocery store and gas station. The general store in the center of Lincoln has basic provisions, but closes at 6pm, so plan accordingly. Cell service in Vermont can be challenging at times. There is no exception to this at the house. If you have at&t I can add one member of your party to the microcell system in the house. If you have Verizon, you will be relying heavily on WiFi. Lincoln has one at&t tower that gives the house about 1 or 2 bars. Bristol has one Verizon tower that seems to give full service when in town.
