The SpaceIf there are 3 or 4 in your party, please read the last paragraph carefully, before proceeding! There is NO charge for a 4th person! But you'll have to contact me, to have that reflected in your nightly rate. Whether you are visiting the area for business, a vacation, a wedding or a graduation, please consider making this your "home away from home" for a few days. This location offers the perfect combination of suburban quiet and extreme convenience. We are in Linthicum, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore. We are just 10 minutes from BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport and only 15 minutes from Downtown Baltimore City--including both stadiums and the Convention Center. We are also only 15 minutes away from the Maryland Live Casino and the brand new Horseshoe Casino is 15 minutes in the other direction. We are within walking distance from the light rail, which not only connects you to BWI Airport, but can also get you into the city. **If you plan to walk here from the light rail, PLEASE ASK ME ABOUT THE SHORT CUT! If you are driving, you can easily access I-95 and all of the other major highways in the area. Both rooms have been recently upgraded! In our primary guestroom, we offer a comfy queen sized bed with a pillow-topped mattress, a 37" flat-screen tv (equipped with cable), a dvd player (with a collection of videos), a small closet and a clock radio with cd player and a jack for mp3 players. There are power strips on either side of the bed, so you have lots of plugs available for your chargers, laptops, etc. There is a folding rack for your luggage. You will be sharing a full bathroom on the second floor. Fresh linens, will of course be provided. You will have access to a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, living room and half bath on the first floor. You'll have free wi-fi and if you need a computer or printer, just ask. You'll be sharing the house with 50-something couple and a cat. The cat is friendly, but she's kept out of your room--unless you let her in ;-) You don't have to be a cat lover; but if you are allergic or afraid of them or mind an occasional late night / early morning meow outside your bedroom door, then this won't be a good fit! As far as food, you have lots of options. A continental breakfast comes as part of the deal. That includes a large selection of coffees and teas. And if you happen to be here on Sunday morning, you might be invited to play "guinea pig" for some new breakfast casserole or omelette recipe. I am an excellent cook, if I do say so myself :-) There are 3 fast food places in walking distance. A very large selection of full service restaurants is but a short drive away. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction, for whatever you're seeking. In the spring, summer and fall, you may chose to spend some time relaxing in our big backyard. There's a stone patio with lawn chairs, surrounded by flowers and trees. THE FOLLOWING IS RELAVANT ONLY TO PARTIES OF 3 or 4 GUESTS! The rate for the second room is a flat $40 a night--whether there are 1 or 2 people staying in there. This website is not set-up to automatically calculate that the 4th person is FREE. If you have 4 in your party, please write to me, so that I can give you a link for the proper rate of $100 a night--not the $140, that will show up, when you plug in that there will be 4 people. Sorry for the confusion!! Please ask if you have questions :-) While still not quite as nice as the primary guest room, it's pretty close! This room also has a queen sized pillow-topped bed, a flat screen tv (with an Amazon Firestick and Hulu ), a clock radio and desk, which can include the use of a computer upon request. Anyone staying in that room will have the same promise of clean linen, assorted travel sized toiletries and a good breakfast. This room also serves as our laundry room, but thanks to folding screens and room arrangement, the room is attractive and looks much like a traditional bedroom. Soooo, if your third/fourth guest(s) is okay with the above-mentioned description, then by all means shoot me an email to discuss your visit! Guest AccessGuests have access to their room, both bathrooms (WHICH ARE SHARED), the living room, the backyard and (usually) the driveway. Guests CAN use the kitchen--but if it's more than involved than storing things in the frig, or heating something in the microwave, please let me know in advance. We have a temperamental smoke detector, so I like to be in the vicinity, if you are cooking something on the stove. If there are more than 2 guests, they will also have access to the second spare room. The other parts of the house are off limits--unless discussed in advance. The top of the toilet (in the master bath) is available for toiletries that you want to leave in the bathroom. Hooks for towels are available in the bathroom as well as your room (both bedrooms have hooks). Interaction with GuestsGuest interaction varies greatly with us. Never feel that you have to spend time with us--we won't be offended if you are mostly in your room or out of the house. However, if we're home and you want to chat that's just fine! We've had some wonderful conversations with some of our guests--but it's never forced--sometimes it just clicks! The NeighborhoodI love that our neighborhood is usually quiet, despite being 20 minutes away from the heart of Baltimore City. Getting AroundWe are in an extremely convenient location! As long as you don't mind some walking, it's feasible to get around from the Amtrak station or BWI Airport using only public transportation. We are (kinda) on a bus line, but there's a rather steep hill to get to/from the house. We are also short walk to Baltimore's light rail system. Kenneth owns a cab, and he can usually offer our guests discounted fares, especially with advance notice. And if you are driving, we're close to all the major highways in the area. Other Things to NoteThe ideal bookings for us come a few weeks to a month in advance. But we can usually accept reservations several months in advance and we've frequently accommodated last minute requests. Bottom line, it never hurts to ask! I'm online quite frequently and can usually give you a quick response. To reiterate, if you need the second bedroom, it is a flat $40 a night--whether 1 or 2 people are staying there. Please write and ask, if you need clarification. Airbnb won't calculate the extra fee manually, I have to do it manually--but only if there will be a 4th guest.

The SpaceThis listing is for our master bedroom. After 4 years of hosting, we have chosen to expand the possibilities. Most of our guests are looking for a moderately priced, clean comfortable room that is very close to the airport and/or downtown Baltimore. If that is your situation, then please check out our other listing. If you are looking for an extremely ritzy location, filled with antiques and a double Jacuzzi? Then this is not the spot for you! However, if you are an individual or couple who is looking for "luxury on a budget", you have found just what you were looking for! This is a large bedroom in a cozy 3 bedroom home. I wanted to create a space that would lend itself to an indulgent weekend for one or a romantic getaway for two. Amenities include: +king-sized Select Number bed +high thread count bed linen +organic bamboo bed pillows and bath towels +32" flat screen tv and Blu-ray/dvd player +bluetooth speaker for your music +heated foot bath with massage option +ceiling fan and window air conditioner (both with remotes) above and beyond central heat/ air conditioning throughout the house +private bathroom--while you are in the house +spa robes, pajamas and slippers are available + gourmet breakfast (delivered to your room for a nominal fee) +an exquisite collection of toiletries for your use +yoga mat So there you have it. Is this the Trump Plaza? Heck, no! But it also won't cost you an arm and a leg :-) The past 4 years have confirmed how much I enjoy hosting. I'm proud to say that many of our guests have commented on all of the amenities that are included with our primary listing. But I want to offer even more for a special occasion; so I've come up with upgrades to make you real downright decadent! Please don't hesitate to send an inquiry if you have more questions! We can accommodate extra people, by using our other bedrooms. The other 2 rooms each have a queen size bed. These rooms are nice, but nowhere as nice as the "luxury on a budget" room! So you can book 2 rooms or all 3 bedrooms {the entire top floor)---BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND, there is only 1 bathroom upstairs. So while Kenneth nor I will use it, you will share that bath with as many guests as you have in your party--up to 6. Also, if you need all 3 rooms, it can only be on a Friday or Saturday night...and for 1 night only! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the master bedroom. Kenneth and I will re-locate to one of the other bedrooms. No other Airbnb guests can book rooms during your stay (unless they are part of your party). The full bathroom is not attached to the master bedroom; but will be for your use only--while you are in the house (Kenneth and I may use it, when you are out and about.). You will also have access to the living room and kitchen. If the weather is conducive, you are more than welcome to spend time out in the large back yard. If you time it right, there may be fresh produce available in the gardens :-) As described above, the other rooms can be included for your booking; but if you need all 3 rooms, it can only be on a Friday or Saturday night, and for only 1 night! Interaction with GuestsInteraction with the guests is always a fluid situation. We are both somewhat busy, but usually Kenneth or I are available, if you have questions, concerns or just want to chat over a cup of coffee. But we don't consider it an insult if you keep to yourself and or spend most of your time out of the house. The NeighborhoodTechnically, we are located in North Linthicum or Linthicum Heights; but for planning purposes, just think of it as a suburb just southwest of Baltimore. This location offers the best of both worlds. We are 15-20 minutes drive from Baltimore's Inner Harbor--the hub of Downtown Baltimore's tourist area. We are less than 10 minutes from every major highway in the area, which makes getting around the Baltimore-Washington Metroplex relatively simple (unless you count that pesky traffic :-) Yet, with all of the surrounding hustle and bustle, our street and neighborhood is "very suburban" with lots of single family homes, quiet streets and rolling hills--great for those who enjoy walking. Getting AroundThere is a light rail station less than 10 minutes' walk from the house. That makes it convenient for those who are not driving, yet still want to travel to the sports stadiums, Convention Center, BWI Airport or other points in the area. The only real shortcoming for those who are not driving, is with regard to food. We have LOTS of fast food places, full-service restaurants and grocery stores in the area--but they are not really in walking distance. The few places that you can easily walk to are: Dunkin' Donuts, a pizza place and a burger place, and Chinese carry-out. In your room, there will always be menus from some local food places that will deliver. Other Things to NoteWe do have a large kitchen, equipped with almost any gadget you can think of. You are welcome to use the kitchen, but please keep in mind that I cook a lot! Therefore my frig is frequently full. I can always make room in the refrigerator (and elsewhere in the kitchen); but if you need more than a small space, it will really help if you give me a head's up before you arrive :-) Also, I prefer to be in the house if your cooking involves something more than microwave heating or boiling water--because we have temperamental smoke alarm. We are really not set up for toddlers or young kids between 2-8. Infants are fine, if they sleep with you or you are bringing a pack n go/portable crib.
