The SpaceThis is a comfortable and peaceful place to come and stay, and is handy for exploring the area or getting away from everything for a day or two. Ideally situated for getting to London or the coast by train, for exploring the South Downs, and historic cities of Winchester and Chichester, Guildford and Portsmouth. There is a plethora of things to get up to when you stay with us in Langley. Guest AccessBreakfast will be served in the shared kitchen diner, but there will be tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom so guests can feel comfortable using either spaces. Our children may be around, depending on timing, so it may be a busy household, or could be only the two of us. Interaction with GuestsOne or other of us will be around if not both and we are happy to help in any way we can. We both grew up in the area and have lived here for some time so have pretty good local knowledge. The NeighborhoodLots of deer, pheasants and rabbits in the lanes, as well as the occasional badger. A lovely place to come and re-charge the batteries, but also not too far for trips to the coast, Portsmouth, Chichester, Winchester or Guildford. Excellent train links to London and Portsmouth. Petersfield is 4 miles away and is a lovely market town with lots going on. Getting AroundRegular mainline trains from either Liss or Liphook, to London, Guildford, Portsmouth etc. Both stations are within easy reach with plenty of parking.
Buses are fairly in-frequent in this neck of the woods and the timetables take some time to figure out, but we can advise if needed.
We live about half a mile along an unmade road which means it is lovely and remote and quiet, but also means a bit of a bumpy drive to find us, and sometimes a bit of mud! But you won't need a 4x4 to get to us. Walking and or cycling are good options for local exploration. There are four or five pubs which can be reached on foot. Other Things to NoteWe have a friendly cocker spaniel and two cats who are shy and likely to keep out of the way.
We have bicycles and may be able to lend these to guests who wish to explore the area on two wheels.
We are on the edge of Chapel Common, and in the woodland, there are many routes for walking and cycling straight from the front door. Our home is lovely and quiet, with wonderful starry nights if you are lucky.
