There is a village pub, called the Ostrich nextdoor but one from the cottage. Getting AroundNo buses in South Creake that I know of at present. I'm there on and off too during the week too so if you've got any queries at all during your stay you can come and see us. Or just come to say hello or pick up some local tips. Out of hours there's a contact number for the housekeeper and you can also email us. The NeighborhoodNorth Barsham is a tiny hamlet (5 houses plus our 5 barns only!) in a lovely setting of the Stiffkey river valley. We're only 5 miles from the coast at Wells-next-the-Sea and a bit further to the famous beach at Holkham. It's very quiet here, with lots of wildlife and birds, including resident barn owl that swoops across the meadow at dusk. At night the absence of light pollution means the skies are full of stars. There are good walks from the barn (maps provided). Little Walsingham is about 1 1/2 miles away, a gentle stroll along the river. There's a brilliant farm shop there that supports local suppliers with a butchery, home cooked food, cheese, delicatessen and locally grown vegetables. Newly back on the rental market, this lovely brick and flint cottage is one of a terrace of three cottages, on a quiet country lane at the mid-point between the four villages of Great Walsingham, Wighton, Hindringham and Binham. It looks onto rolling fields in all directions and has a large informal garden. You cannot beat it for a rural retreat, about twelve minutes' drive from the North Norfolk coast, with its glorious beaches. The next door cottage (3 Field House Cottages) is also available for rent and sleeps four plus one child, so the set-up is ideal for two families. Downstairs is a newly-fitted kitchen, with electric twin oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher, and a separate pantry with fridge and freezer. We have recently knocked through from the kitchen to the dining-room, which has an open fireplace and gives onto a paved terrace looking across the fields. Next to the dining room is a spacious sitting room with a new smart TV (plays Catch-up TV as well as Netflix, Amazon video and Mubi) and DVD player, wood-burning stove and i-pod dock. Upstairs is a large bedroom with a superking-sized bed, a twin bedroom (beds can be made up as a double bed if preferred) and a single bedroom. The two double bedrooms have incredible views over the fields behind the cottage, while the single bedroom looks out on the front garden. The bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as a bath. There is a washing-machine and a second fridge in the brick outhouse . The cottage is very much a family home and is furnished as such: it has a personal feel to it, and a stay here will feel like going to a friend's house. There are family paintings on the walls, and some of the furniture is antique, as are the Turkish kilims, but some things are more shabby. We are in the process of making a rather wild garden which will blend with the fields around the cottage. There is wifi, and pets are welcome by arrangement, but no smoking inside the cottage please. Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. A limited amount of fuel will be provided for visitors staying between October and April. There are stair gates and a cot available if required. The cottage is in an exceptionally beautiful spot, sited at the midpoint between the four villages of Great Walsingham, Hindringham, Binham and Wighton, in a row of four labourers' cottages on a small lane. The views to the back across the rolling hills and water meadows are just stunning. The nearest pub is under 2 miles away in Binham, which also has a good shop and petrol. Two miles in the other direction is Little Walsingham with its excellent restaurant, the Norfolk Riddle, and wonderful farm shop Pretty brick and flint secluded rural cottage with great views over rolling fields. Shops and petrol within 2 miles, beach within 6 miles. Off-lane parking , large garden, south-facing stone paved terrace, incredible rural views

One of several cottages within the prestigious development of the Old Vicarage, a late Georgian Rectory with communal woodland and grounds extending to approximately 2.5 acres. Grace Cottage is a modern, well-equipped three bedroom cottage, recently refurbished to a very high standard. Little Walsingham is a beautiful and historic village in North Norfolk. Grace Cottage is located within the Vicarage's original walled garden with french doors leading into the garden. You are also only four miles from the coast of North Norfolk, famed for its beaches and wildlife reserves with their abundance of rare birds and seals. For centuries Walsingham has been a place of pilgrimage and, at its height in medieval times, it rivalled Canterbury and the great shrines of Europe. Many of the Kings and Queens of England made pilgrimages here, from Henry III to Henry VIII. The shrines still attract visitors from all over the world, as do the ruins of four abbeys within a five-mile radius, and Walsingham has no less than 169 listed buildings in the pristine village set in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 'Secret Norfolk' as it used to be known, is rapidly becoming 'fashionable Norfolk' (especially during the summer) because of its miles of coastline, unspoilt villages and relaxed way of life. However, the off-season is the real 'secret Norfolk' when the roads are free of traffic, the pubs have log fires, the dark nights are filled with bright stars and the daytime migrations are scrutinised and contemplated with the back drop of a big sky. The peace and tranquillity are exceptional, and Grace Cottage with its sumptuous interior designed for comfort, is the perfect place for rest and relaxation and the perfect starting point for exploring the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. Edgar Farmhouse is an 8 bedroom, 6 bathroom period farmhouse. Edgar Farmhouse forms the principle dwelling house of an ancient farmstead. The surrounding barns date from the early 19th Century and, whilst they require some upkeep work, add to the magnificence of the site (although, access is not permitted to these barns). The house benefits from large rooms and original features throughout. Meanwhile the property has been updated to ensure it meets the needs of our clients during their stay. Of the 6 bath/shower rooms, 5 are en-suite, with a wonderful family bathroom with freestanding centre bath. The large gardens are walled and extend to over an acre. There is an indoor heated swimming pool (24' x 12') and the all weather tennis court is nearly finished. The house is fully equipped with all modern conveniences and the kitchen is superbly stocked with everything necessary for you to prepare anything from a simple summer luncheon through to a fabulous 5 course celebratory meal. The dining room, just off the kitchen, will seat everyone comfortably around the one large table. There is a large reception lounge with 'Smart' TV, internet WiFi, and plenty of soft seating to relax on, as well as the addition of a wood-burning stove for use on those winter evenings. That said, the property benefits from an excellent central heating system with new boiler. Edgar Farmhouse is situated in one of the prettiest areas in North Norfolk, close to the world-class beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea and within easy driving distance of the the fabulous towns of Holt, Fakenham, Burnham Market and Blakeney. The Royal retreat of Sandringham is a 20 min drive away. Walsingham lies between Fakenham and the fabulous seaside town of Wells-next-the-sea. Walsingham is the site of a medieval pilgrimage still hugely popular today (in fact the UK's most popular pilgrimage). This is one of the most popular and sought-after locations in Norfolk, ranking highly with holiday-makers year after year, due to the fantastic beaches, countryside, ancient towns and villages and excellent local attractions. Whether you want a day at the Races (Fakenham course is 10 mins away) or walks on the famous beaches, strolls over undulating countryside or time spend in the many traditional and contemporary pubs, bars and restaurants, Edgar Farmhouse is superbly located as your luxurious base. We recommend the seals at Blakeney marshes, as well as the Royal residence at Sandringham. Also, you should find time to take a trip on the restored steam railways that puff their way through the area. And any trip to Norfolk would not be complete without a day spent in Norwich, one of the UK's largest and most important cities. And if you really want to get away from it all, then head to the Norfolk Broads, where you can hire a boat for an hour, a day or longer and meander around large sections of the most beautiful scenery in the country. There is also numerous fabulous stately homes to visit apart from Sandringham; including Holkham Hall, through to Blickling, now part of the National Trust. And if you want children's entertainment, there are many popular and great value attractions such as 'Pleasurewood Hills, Africa Alive, Banham Zoo, etc etc.
