(Just don't expect to hear the sound of someone knocking at your door!). This peaceful retreat is on a 1.25 acre property and the 'neighbourhood' is very low-key and folks in the area are respectful of our guests' privacy. Built in 1833, this stately Georgian home has been graciously renovated and restored, and is now available as a sophisticated vacation rental home for the discerning couple or couples. Named after the original owner, The Samuel Fairbanks house is the embodiment of elegance with its gleaming hardwood floors, stylishly appointed rooms, unifying design, modern appliances and fixtures. Beautifully furnished with an interesting blend of art and antiques, Chinese pottery, rich wool rugs, and comfortable pieces, the house is a pleasing mix of traditional design and modern amenities. This tasteful home should be gracing the pages of a high end home design magazine. From the moment you walk in to the main foyer and see the two living rooms with matching fireplaces, you will be captured by the style and spirit of the Samuel Fairbanks House. With rooms to spare, the main floor features a well-equipped main kitchen as well as a smaller butler's pantry. There is a large formal dining room for entertaining and a couple of smaller seating areas for casual meals. Both of the living rooms and the charming study feature wood burning fireplaces and luxuriously soft furnishings that envelop you in relaxing comfort. There are four large bedrooms and four full bathrooms. All three of the upstairs bedrooms have en-suite washrooms; two of these bedrooms have king size beds, while the third has a queen size bed. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with hotel quality beds and bed linens, rich rugs, nautical paintings, antique chests of draws and plenty of closet space. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a 4-piece bathroom with built in laundry facilities a little way down the hall. The two king size bedroom has 4 piece bathrooms attached with a soaker tubs and separate showers. Outside a deck overlooks the garden and provides a private outside space for entertaining. Located in a leafy neighborhood with the Simeon Perkins House and the Queens County Museum for neighbours, this graceful property is a gentle stroll to boutique shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, galleries and the Astor Theatre . A few short kilometers by bike or car takes you to some of the finest beaches on the South Shore: Beach Meadows, Summerville Beach and Provincial Park , Carter's Beach and the Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct If you have any questions about this vacation rental, please do not hesitate to call or email. I have personally been to this house and I am quite familiar with the property. This house has a maximum occupancy of 8 people only - including all children and adults. Additional amenities include: beach chairs, 4 piece bath, selection of movies, lobster pot, cd player, 3 piece bath (shower), fridge, stove, books & board games, coffee maker, kettle, close to beaches, close to grocery store, 5 bathrooms, washer and dryer, cell phone reception, 2 piece powder room. The Samuel Fairbanks House is located in the Historic Town of Liverpool. Once a thriving seaport and home to marauding privateers, Liverpool is now a picturesque port whose vibrantly painted shops, galleries and restaurants provide colour and character. Centered at the Crossroads of the Lighthouse Route and Highway 8 leading to Kejimkujik National Park, Annapolis Royal, Digby and whale watching on the Bay of Fundy, the Samuel Fairbanks House makes an ideal base from which to explore the Southwestern Region of Nova Scotia.

Restoration awaits in the peaceful ambiance of this private 6 acre ocean side retreat located on a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean. Absorb the beauty of the sights, sounds and smells of the sea from our own sand and pebble beach or amble down our down our lane for 2 minutes and arrive at an all but deserted world class white sand beach. Absolutely amazing 270 degree views of the open ocean, the waves breaking on the reef, Frying Pan Island and its scenic lighthouse and the birds, seals and other wildlife that abound can be found outdoors or in the spacious sun room. Our own saltwater pond provides a perfect spot for safe adventures for children, such as learning to kayak. In the executive level 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house the comfortable furnishings and ocean views and invite relaxation. A glorious pine cathedral ceiling crowns the open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. The upper level of Beach Haven house provides more than 1400 square feet of first class accommodation for up to 8 persons (2 queens, 2 singles, 1 double). The open concept living room, dinning room and kitchen has a glorious pine cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, a Jotul woodstove/fireplace and wonderful ocean views. The glassed in sun porch provides panoramic 270 degree views of the open ocean and the waves from England and France breaking on the reef, as well as Frying Pan Island and with the scenic Port Medway lighthouse. The sun porch is also an ideal place to watch the many birds and animals that frequent the property. Guests who wish may have double the space, and the views, by adding on the spacious and bright lower level of Beach Haven. Previously known as '''Wind Song'and the summer home of a Swiss gentleman for 14 years until we bought it in 2003, Beach Haven has an interesting 'architectural' history. The main level was built as a complete house (with the three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open concept living room, dining room and kitchen all with a pine cathedral ceiling). He then had the whole house raised and put in a complete downstairs, so the 'lower level' is much higher and brighter then a conventional basement, it is about 2.5 feet below grade. In keeping with the Swiss style, there is no connecting inside stairway between the main level and the lower level, one goes in to the lower level directly from the outside. It is beautifully finished with hardwood floors and pine walls. One of the main features of interest in the recreation room is the regulation Brunswick slate pool table. Consisting of a huge recreation room, large bedroom (twins) and a spacious three piece bath, this extra space is a perfect add on for large family gatherings or offers a quiet working space for guests who are taking a '''working holiday'. This lower level is available only to families or groups who are renting the main level (that is we never rent it as a separate unit) for an extra fee of $600 (high season, shoulder season, $300/per week. Assurance of quality is featured with excellent housekeeping and a fully equipped home-away from home: spacious glassed in sun porch, ocean-view deck with outdoor furniture, jotul woodstove fireplace, kitchen with 6 full-sized appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, stove, microwave), kitchenware, very comfortable beds (2 queens, 4 singles, 1 double), excellent linens, satellite TV, VCR, phone/fax, stereo, quality furnishings, books and games, picnic table, gas BBQ. On Property With six plus acres to explore, there are a wide range of opportunities, from relaxing on the deck with a book to more active pursuits such as ocean swimming and beach combing. It's a dream location for photographers and other artists. An organic vegetable and herb garden, a lily pond, flower beds and closed cropped lawns are available close to the house. Groomed paths lead to the saltwater pond and your own private sand and pebble beach, offering endless opportunities for swimming, beach combing, exploring the rocks and tidal pools, beach campfires, bird spotting (e.g. eagles, cormorants, osprey, sea ducks, piping plovers) and animal watching (e.g. seals, foxes, rabbits, raccoons). An all-but-deserted world class white sand beach is a two minute stroll down our private lane. Beds: 2 Queen Beds, 1 Double Bed, 3 Twin Beds, 1 Sofa Bed
