Kiddie slide/rock wall and awesome covered bbq-picnic areas in this large grassy park that spans between 2 streets inviting neighbors to 'hang' together, play frisbee, or soccer~ Getting AroundWe are located almost mid-way between Highways 5 and 99 in central California, and 40 min. south of Sacramento International Airport (almost all by freeway luckily!) Use our Long boards and Hybrid Women's bike if you'd like (at your own risk!) The cottage itself is a beautiful 2 bedroom with king size beds in both rooms, 1 bathroom that's sits on 5 acres of cherry’s. The front porch has stunning views of the sun setting. Many amenities such as iPhone docking stations with stereo & alarm in both rooms, washer, dryer, cable, Flat screen TV in living room also in both bedrooms, DVD player, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove and frig with water & ice in the door. The warm comfort of this cottage will help after a long day of wine tasting. It's fully equipped with all the comforts of home. There is no smoking in the home, however there is a designated area outside for it. Weekend rates are $215 and weekday rates are $195. The SpaceI think of my home as my little piece of country in the city. Many trees provide shade as well as fresh fruit, organically grown. The garden and the lawns have been sacrificed to spare water as California struggles through a fourth year of severe drought. A small flwer garden awaits my guests to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, a book, glass of wine, a relaxing swing on the park bench. Or select fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes from the garden outside by the kitchen during your stay. Enjoy cooking your meals as the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils and the seasonings most commonly used. All you need to do is bring your favorite foods. The new central heat and air unit will keep you warm and cozy in the winter and cool in the summer. One of my favorite amenities in the house is the bathtub which is a perfect place to relax after a long day sight seeing. The house was built when the thought of the many modern conveniences were yet to be invented and so it lacks an automatic dishwasher. Guest AccessEnjoy the whole house, with exceptions to the basement, garage, and backyard. The drought has taken its toll on the landscape, many of the trees suffered throughout the summer, the lawns were not watered due to restrictions. The currently awaiting the rains which will allow me to begin preparing the property to plant more drought tolerant species. But the back yard is not level with many small holes dug by my dogs and resident pocket gophers, until they are repaired pleas keep to the front and side yards. Interaction with GuestsI will greet you and give you a quick tour at arrival and will leave you to enjoy your stay. I will arrange to see you off and retrieve the keys. I will be available by phone if there are any questions or problems. The NeighborhoodI love that my home is so close to the downtown amenities. Love taking a stroll for a morning coffee, or enjoying one of the many events without fighting traffic or searching for a parking space. It's faster to walk to the theatre than to drive, park and then walk. I often walk to one of my favorite restaurants, or an evening out enjoying live music and a fine wine. Other favorites are browsing through the second hand/antique stores looking for a new treasure. Getting AroundThe bus stop is just around the corner if you would like to use public transit. The train station is within walking distance if you would like to take a train to Old Sacramento for the day. Bart is a 45 minute drive, park and ride into San Francisco for a day of shopping, fine dining, or take in a theatrical performance. Taxis are available but supply is limited as the town is small. Lodi is centrally located to many beautiful landscapes, lakes, rivers, delta estuary, bird watching, day trips to the snow, or a trip to the ocean, or stay local and enjoy the many private wineries surrounding the town. But if you would rather not drive many of the wineries have joined together providing several tasting rooms downtown. Other Things to NoteAll rates include a 9% City of Lodi Transient Occupancy tax Monthly rates are negotiable. Recent upgrades include new bamboo flooring, please wipe up any spills quickly as it will damage the floor. Brand new vinyl in the bath and kitchen. The house has been freshly painted and furnished from downtown second hand/consignment stores. Sleeping accommodations include a queen size sleigh bed room set in the room overlooking the back yard. The front bedroom has Been recently upgraded from a full size bed to a queen. The cookware is non-stick ceramic. The gas stove is lovely to cook on but I have learned that the raised grate allows the heat to heat the pans not only on the bottom but the heat travels around the entire surface making handles and lids very hot too. Also, I have learned that utensils left sitting in the pan while cooking get scorched. Please remove utensils in between stirring/turning/flipping your meal while it cooks.

The SpaceSandpiper Guest House is a classic 80s house with lots of unique creative touches and upgraded energy efficient systems. We've upgraded the house with new windows, roof, central heat and air, and resurfaced the pool with black pebbletec. We've created a labyrinth on the basketball court, paper bagged the living room floor, and laid recycled denim down in one of the bedrooms. We've stripped and refinished the solid oak kitchen cabinets, built in the pantry, stripped out the old tile counter and installed a 'poured in place' concrete counter with a big deep sink. There is a satsuma mandarin in the front garden that provides a ton of fruit from Early November through Christmas. Please feel free to pick and enjoy while you are staying at our house. Guest AccessFull house, yard and pool. For a while the garage will be unavailable. Free parking on the street and two spots on the driveway. Please park only one car on the street directly in front of the house, leaving a space for the neighbor's car in front of you. Other cars can be parked across the street along that houses side fence. The NeighborhoodSandpiper Guest House sits on the back corner of a circle. It is a quiet family neighbourhood. You'll see people out walking and working on their yards. Kids will be playing down the street. Laughter will float over the fence as others are enjoying their yards. Lodi tends to roll up the sidewalks at 9pm. Please keep outdoor noise to a minimum after 10pm. Getting AroundLodi is flat as a pancake and crisscrossed with spacious bike lanes. It's a car and bike town. Public transit is limited but improving - slowly. There is a bus stop just down the block that will take you to downtown Lodi. There are a couple of taxis. More recently a few Uber cars are showing up here and in Stockton. They are in high demand so may not be as timely as in the big cities where there are hundreds of Ubers and Lift cars on the road. Welcome! The location can't not get any better if you like to wine taste. Come relax in this prime location, nestled in the beautiful wine countryside of Lodi, California. This Cottage sits close to many award winning wineries. It has 2 master bedrooms with king size beds and flat screen TV's,and 1 bath that is on horse property. The warm comfort of this cottage will help after a long day of wine tasting. It's fully equipped with all the comforts of home. It has a circular drive way around the house for easy access. It is also close to downtown Lodi where it offers shopping, dinning, movies and many other stores. If you are looking for water skiing the delta has the best waterways around for skiing. If you are looking for great snow skiing, Kirkwood and Heavenly offers fantastic skiing. If you are looking for great shopping there is every store available in an hour radius. If you are looking just to relax this house is very peaceful with spectacular sunsets. We also have the ability to stable horses for an additional charge. This property is also big enough for RV parking. We are also priced for now the lowest in town with the best location. The cottage is close to the beach and the mountains. It is located on the east side of Lodi where many award winning wineries are located. You can walk or ride bikes to them. It's in the country so you have the peacefulness of the country but close enough to many different activities. Sacramento Airport is only about a 30 min drive. There is also old Sacramento that has many attractions. San Fransico is 1 1/2 hours away and Kirkwood is about an 1 1/2 drive with amazing skiing. We also own a Kirkwood condo if you are interested. Large enough for RV parking or stabling a horse.

    Merlot Bungalow is a craftsman style house that was popular in the 1920's. It is a beautiful example that has been lovingly restored and updated. The kitchen boasts granite tops and all new cabinets and appliances but still has the original 1926 Fridgidaire refrigerator great for storing Lodi's award winning wine. It also has the original hardwood floors that have all been refinished besides wood details throughout. Wine is the central theme with over 80 wineries nearby. Merlot Bungalow is just 2 blocks from downtown lodi with many wine tasting rooms and attractions. It is also just 3 tree lined blocks from Hutchins Street Square where many events take place along with being a great wedding venue. It has a large private backyard with a patio table for 8, barbeque and wicker furniture. It also has herbs planted for your cooking pleasure! It is truly a home away from home. Merlot Bungalow is located near the heart of Lodi. It is a beautiful tree lined neighborhood with a great kids park across the street.
