There is an optional double sofa-bed but at the moment we can only offer a single sleeping bag for an extra person. Safe and secure in a building with private/code-lock corridors. Guest AccessFull Access and use of the flat. Interaction with GuestsWe won't be present, but we will meet to give you the key and show you around the flat. The NeighborhoodGeneral tips for the neighborhood The flat is next to the CANAL and the MARSHES (a nature reserve in the middle of London!) Beautiful walks guaranteed! Up the canal, Sprinfield Park -really unique and beautiful park! Down the canal you can easily get to Hackney Wick (nice cafes and pizza places near the canal), Victoria Park, Stratford and the Olympic park. SUPERMARKET AND SHOPS – There is a small Coop supermarket just around the corner. You get out, turn left and then right. 2 min. It has all basic stuff and good offers. Open 7 days a week. Up the road, in Mt Pleasant Lane, there is a big nice Turkish shop on the corner with Upper Clapton Road. Cheap fruits & veggies, fresh bread and meat, olives halloumi cheese... There is also a POST OFFICE 100mts before on the left side. RESTAURANTS AND PUBS There is a really nice pizza place up the road in Upper Clapton road (number 126). It's called SODO PIZZA (URL HIDDEN) A bit down the road from there, just before Clapton train station, there is a nice pub with a big backyard, ping pong table, table football and nice pub food. PUB CROOKET BILLET There are pubs on the canal as well. One pub which is very big and very popular is THE CLAPTON HART just on the roundabout, near Clapton Pond. Nice new places in Lower Clapton road as well (the area is being gentrified at the moment! :/ ) And finally ONE NICE SPOT is CHATSWORTH ROAD, where there is a Swedish cafe (mmm, yes, with Bule !) and nice shope, hairdressers, restaurantes and cafes. Pizza, crepes... organic shops... The nicest bit is the FARMERS MARKET, on Sunday morning, with nice fresh framers products. And then there is a food market as well. Trendy, pricy, but nice! Getting AroundThe best and quickest way to come here is the train from Liverpool Street Station to Clapton Station. It's only 10-12 min (the 2nd or 3rd stop) and its same price as the tube. The train is usually the one to Chingford, but there are some other less frequent services with other destinations, you check on the departure boards in the station. The train station is a 10 min walk from the flat. If not, there are many buses: From Lea Bridge road (3 min walk by the canal /park) 55 – goes central, to Oxford St, through Hackney and Old st 48 - to London Bridge 56 – it goes to St Pauls. good to go to Dalston // to get the overground From Upper Clapton road: 253 254 – they go to Whitechapel (on this side of the road) (30min approx) and to Manor House / Finsbury park on the other side of the road (tube in both places) From Heathrow: Get the tube at the airport and go to LIVERPOOL ST STATION. In the station you get a TRAIN (with the same OYSTER CARD (transport card in London)) to CLAPTON STATION. Stansted – You can get a bus (1 hour and cheaper) or a train (45min aprox but expensive) to LIVERPOOL ST and get the train (same as above). Gatwick- You get the train to LONDON BRIDGE and get the BUS 48 that comes directly to here (it takes 45min aprox). The stop is CHATSWORD ROAD (on Lea Bridge road). Other Things to NoteThe flat has a Double bed. There is an optional double sofa-bed with a single sleeping bag.

The SpaceThis is a beautiful, bright double bedroom (not the whole flat) with kingsize bed in Hackney, E5. The flat is a warehouse flat with lots of exposed brickwork and vintage furniture (but is toasty in winter and cool in summer thanks to double glazing and gas central heating and a load of windows). The room would suit a couple, or single traveller but I do have a single blow up bed if you are traveling with a child. The flat has a large open plan living area with large 3D tv with Sky (cable), Love Film, Netflix, etc. We also have a PS3, and the slightly more retro Sega megadrive, and original Nintendo should you be that way inclined. The kitchen is large and spacious, and we have a big dining area connected to the main space. There is a washing machine available. We also have fast broadband, turntables and vinyl, and a massive DVD and book library. You're hosts are usually Rhiannon, (though I'm currently away and it's my room you will be staying in) and I have some guests too. We also have a black cat so called "Cat Animal" (so she never has an identity crisis) and you'd have to be ok with that - but I promise she's not annoying! The bathroom is currently shared with one other room (and any guests that pop over)- One of the other bedroom is en suites So doesn't use the house bathroom. The room is my bedroom so contains much of my stuff, but there is ample space for you to store your things. Anything you need I am sure we can provide. You will be given towels and bed linen, and some toiletries area available if needed. You will also be given some fridge space and a cupboard for longer stays (i.e. if you stay for a week). We're a pretty creative flat and love exploring everything east London has to offer so would be very happy to give you recommendations or take you out if you would like a tour. Hackney is where it's at! Close to the Arts Picturehouse Cinema, Broadway Market (food market and cafes / nice shops), Vyner Street (galleries), Chatsworth road (food market), and Hoxton - and within easy reach of Dalston, Liverpool Street and Bethnal Green. The local area is really vibrant with cafes, bars, trendy hairdressers and take aways if you feel lazy. There are also big shops to buy food from too if you fancy cooking at home. We have a cinema very close by and an abundance of nice cafes and bars, and we're within very easy reach of Shoreditch and all the boutique shops, restaurants, and design agencies around there. We love the fact that every time we leave the flat, there is something new - in the last two months a new wine bar has opened, as well a craft beer shop, and three new cafes. The transport is incredible and cheap as the buses are plentiful and go to every main place you'd want to get to, and it's within walking distance of most things you might need. ----- We have a lot of enquiries from people thinking this is the whole flat. To clarify - it's a room in a 3 bedroom flat. Guest AccessGuests have access to the whole flat - there is nothing off limits apart from the other two bedrooms. Interaction with GuestsI (Rhiannon) will usually be in Hackney up the road during your stay and can help with anything you may need. i the air bnb experience and making new friends, but equally happy to leave you alone to your own devices. The Neighborhoodwe love the fact that every time we leave my flat, there is something new - in the last two months a new wine bar has opened and three new cafes. The transport is incredible and cheap as the buses are plentiful and go to every main place you'd want to get to, and it's within walking distance of most things you might need. There is a Gym, London fields Lido is not too far, great sushi, a vegan cafe, as well as great steak up the road - something for everyone! Getting AroundOur home is really close to Hackney Central and Hackney Downs (very easy to get to Stansted airport via Tottenham Hale) and there are buses that go from virtually right outside go straight into central London. The 55 and 38 are both really useful night buses and take you back and forth between home and central London. Hackney Central (London Overground) is only 4 stops away from Highbury & Islington (which meets the Victoria Line and is 1 stop from Kings Cross). You can also go from Hackney Central to Dalston in 1 stop, or to Hackney Wick and Stratford if you go the other direction. For anything in East London - this flat is at the heart of it all. Other Things to NoteWe have a lot of enquiries from people thinking this is the whole flat. To clarify - it's a room in a 3 bedroom flat. We (Rhiannon + Steph) live in one of the other rooms. Our flatmate Alessandro lives in the remaining room and has his own bathroom, and works all the time so it is rare to see him. Also - because it is one room, it is not suitable for 3 adults who don't want to share the room.
