The SpaceSimply furnished room with two single beds and small private adjoining toilet. Shower/bathroom shared with us. Fresh linen and towels provided. Ours is a small modern house 15 minutes walk, some steep uphill, from Greenwich town centre. The house is at the end of a rough path off a steep street. There are 9 steps up to the front door. If you have heavy luggage, there are taxis at the front of Greenwich rail station. We also host two cats. They never visit the guest bedroom. Guest AccessYour bedroom is private and lockable - please leave key when out. You have sole use of the toilet adjoining your room and share the shower room. Our shower is quirky so read the house manual or remind us to explain how it works. Interaction with GuestsWe love having guests and will help you make the most of your stay in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, one of London's loveliest areas. We provide breakfast and beverages. You are welcome to keep some food/drinks in the fridge. The NeighborhoodGreenwich is a World Heritage Site so a beautiful place to stay with much to see. Our house is minutes from lively pubs and cafes, as well as being a short walk from the park and museums. You can browse Greenwich Market’s craft and antique stalls or see a film at Greenwich Picturehouse, just 10 minutes walk away. Getting AroundYou can get into the City in 30 to 40 minutes. We are 10-15 minutes walk from Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station and also Greenwich rail station (Zone 2) with frequent trains to Cannon Street (10 mins) and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Heron Quays or Canary Wharf (12 mins) where you can connect with the Tube network. Bus number 53 is 5 minutes walk away and runs a 24 hour service to Big Ben at Parliament Square. Bus route 53 also goes past New Cross station where you can get London Overground to connect with the Tube network. Thames Clippers has fast boats to the O2, the Tate and the London Eye. IMPORTANT Save on fares by using an Oyster card for trains and buses in London. The 15 minute walk to our house has a steep uphill section just before you reach us. If you have heavy luggage, there are taxis at the front of Greenwich rail station. At the end of your stay, allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport or rail station as there can be unexpected delays on trains and buses. DIRECTIONS FROM LONDON ST PANCRAS INTERNATIONAL: Take the Northern line to Bank station, then change to the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and get the Lewisham train and get out at Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich station. Then walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. DIRECTIONS FROM LONDON AIRPORTS: Before your journey, always check your route on the Transport for London website because engineering work may close Tube and train lines on your day of travel. Several ways from Heathrow Airport (1 hour 45 minutes): 1) By Tube and train: Piccadilly line to Barons Court. Change to District or Circle line (on other side of same platform) to Cannon Street. Go upstairs to Cannon Street rail station to get a train to Greenwich rail station (17 minutes). Railway staff can help you find the right platform for the train. The trains are usually every 10 minutes. Then walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. 2) By Heathrow Express and Tube: Heathrow Express to Paddington station and change to the Tube: Bakerloo line to Baker Street station, then change, Jubilee line to Canary Wharf, change and walk to the Docklands Light Railway, Heron Quays DLR station and get the DLR to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station. Then walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. From Gatwick Airport (about an hour): Please check with Transport for London because the route changes due to ongoing construction work at London Bridge station. From Stansted Airport (1 hour 40 minutes) there are two ways to travel: 1) bus to Stratford station, then change to a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train to Canary Wharf (see front of train), then change to a DLR train for Lewisham. Get off at Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station and walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your Itinerary. 2) train to London Liverpool Street station, then go to the Underground and get the central line one stop to Bank station, then change to a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train towards Lewisham (on front of train). Get off at Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station and walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. From London City Airport (about 40 minutes): Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train to Westferry station (see front of train), then cross to the opposite platform (go down stairs or lift to street level and up again on opposite side) and change to a DLR train to Lewisham (see front of train). Get off at Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station and walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. From Southend Airport (1 hour 40 minutes): Train to Stratford station, then change to a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train to Canary Wharf (see front of train), then change to a DLR train to Lewisham. Get off at Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station and walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. From Luton Airport (1 hour 40 minutes): I think you can buy the rail ticket to Greenwich station at Luton Airport so that it includes the shuttle bus to the rail station. Take the shuttle bus from the airport terminal building to Luton Airport Parkway Station (10 minutes), then get a Thameslink train to London Blackfriars station (45 minutes), then change to the Underground and take the District or Circle line to Cannon Street station (3 minutes), then a train to Greenwich station (17 minutes) and then walk 15 minutes to our house (some uphill). See walking directions on your reservation Itinerary. DIRECTIONS TO THE O2 2 ways to the O2: 1) 20 minutes walk to Greenwich Pier, then 10 minutes by Thames Clippers boat to North Greenwich Pier for the O2. 2) 15 minutes walk to Cutty Sark or Greenwich station, then 15 minutes by DLR train to Heron Quays or Canary Wharf, where you change to the Jubilee line to go one stop to North Greenwich station for the O2.
