The SpaceYour bedroom is on the west wing of our quaint home, overlooking a natural spring-fed lake and bird sanctuary through a cluster of mature oak trees in our wild backyard. At 110-square-feet, it’s a “small but mighty” place to work, play, regroup and rest -- with a scenic slice of “real Florida” you can enjoy on demand (except for gators, but you can find them elsewhere close by).
FURNISHINGS: Your furniture includes two twin beds (one trundle), a chest of drawers, shelves and a full-length mirror. There are hangers and a hamper in the closet, as well as extra bed and bath linen. You’ll also find a clean, laptop-friendly work space ready to use – consisting of a desk, chair and lamp – along with easy-to-access high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and lots of multi-plug outlets for your devices.
LAYOUT: We're happy to arrange the room according to your preference prior to arrival. We can collapse one of the beds and slide it under the other, put a bed on either side of the room or connect both beds for king-size comfort. Just tell us which layout you want (1, 2 or 3) based on the pictures below. In any case, you'll have the freedom to further tweak the room to your liking when you get here and enjoy lots of natural light streaming in from two windows – one with a view of the lake.
KEYS: We’ll provide you with a key to your room so you may lock it securely. But if you'd like to take advantage of Housecleaning Saturday, just let us know. We’ll use our master key to enter and clean your room -- including sweeping, mopping, dusting, new sheets and new towels, as needed or requested.
EXTRA SPACE: A second similarly furnished and equipped bedroom may be available for up to two more guests and/or additional work space. Please use our "North Orlando Lakefront Suite-ness" listing instead to check availability and secure both rooms at a discount. As a bonus, you’d gain private use of the guest bathroom throughout your stay (though you should know that sharing the bathroom among guests has never ever posed a problem). Guest AccessAs our valued guest, you’re more than welcome to share our:
-- Guest Bathroom, located right outside your room. It’s got a shower, toilet, two hand basins, large mirror and storage closet. Besides towels, you’re welcome to use the toiletries we’ve provided, and claim one of the empty drawers or shelves for your exclusive use. There’s also a First-Aid Kit in there in case you need it.
-- Kitchen, including refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven, slow cooker, rice cooker, coffee maker and bean grinder, cooking ware, china, silverware, paper products, dishwasher and cleaning detergents.
-- Family Room, furnished with a comfy 3-seat sofa, footstool, folding TV tray dinner tables, small desk area and media center. Use our cable TV subscription to catch your favorite news, shows, movies and music. You may also stream media from a Roku-compatible phone, tablet or laptop directly to our HDTV.
-- Backyard, including patio tables and chairs in both the porch and lake areas, as well as a hammock under our big oak trees. Interaction with GuestsWe (hubby and I) live and work all hours from separate parts of our home. He's an early bird and I'm a night owl. So, you may count on our help, directions and suggestions, nearly 24/7.
Albeit quaint, our home has a relaxing, natural charm that our guests seem to relish as much as we do. Within it, you'll get clean, comfortable and safe accommodations, along with exceptional hospitality and a healthy respect for your privacy. Yes, we'll give you your space, but we'll also be available to chat -- whether it's to share thoughts and opinions, our knowledge of the local area and tips for getting around. The NeighborhoodOur home is located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood that's just north of Orlando and convenient to everything -- especially Orlando's most scenic, pristine and unique "natural theme parks." You'll enjoy living, playing, working and recharging in a much less crowded area of Central Florida and having lots of good stuff nearby. In fact, you'd be just:
-- 5 mins from Interstate 4 (or I-4), the transport backbone of our area
-- 20-40 mins from Sanford & Orlando International Airports, respectively
-- 20-30 mins to downtown Orlando
-- 25-45 mins to Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World, respectively
-- 20-45 mins to Rock Spring Run, Blue Springs and Wekiwa Springs State Parks
-- 45-60 mins to New Smyrna & Daytona beaches
-- 5-20 mins to the award-winning Seminole-Wekiwa & Cross Seminole (hike, bike & horse) Trails
-- Surrounded by superb dining options for all budgets
-- Within minutes of theaters, malls, specialty shops, groceries, fresh markets, gyms and hospitals Getting AroundThe best way to navigate Florida is with a car of your own, but you'll also have good public transportation options nearby serving our three major Central Florida counties – including:
-- Taxi and shuttle bus service on demand from reputable companies, as well as Uber and Lyft. Time permitting, we'd be happy to drive you around in our zippy little Toyota, for Uber-based rates . To check our availability, pre-schedule and price trip/s, please ask and provide trip specifics (day, time, destination, etc.) when you book your room.
-- Lynx Bus Service – 1 mile away, near the entrance of our subdivision (see Lynx's website for info on fixed routes and other special transportation options, such as to major events and popular destinations)
-- SunRail Station – 3 miles away, in the heart of our historic downtown (see SunRail website for more info) Other Things to Note-- You’ll share the guest bathroom with a roommate (if any), and up to two other guests (if any) in an adjacent bedroom that we also rent out from time to time.
-- Our daily do-it-yourself Breakfast Bar typically offers a variety of fresh fruits, croissants or bagels, bread, butter, cereals, oatmeal, whole milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, eggs, bacon and Greek yogurt. Of course, you're welcome to augment these and use anything in the kitchen to prep and consume your most important meal of the day.
-- Our pet dog, Molly, lives outside in our covered patio 99% of the time. We let her in only when it's thunderously stormy or fireworks-crazy (July 4th and New Year's). If you prefer that she be crated when indoors or as you roam our grounds, just let us know.
-- We’d be happy to do your laundry as needed, with the exception of any clothing that needs special handling. We can also arrange for a reliable wash-and-fold service to pick up and return your laundry within 24 hours (except weekends); ask us for their rates when you get here.
-- Want to workout while you're here? You can get free 3-day guest passes at nearby gyms (8-10 mins away), or an inexpensive week-long pass to enjoy our local YMCA gym and pool (8 mins away).
-- Communication is important. If any issue or concern should arise during your visit, please let us know immediately. We'll do the same. Together, we'll overcome it.
