The SpaceMy guest room is cozy and comfy, with a new pillow top bed! Perched on the side of Lookout Mountain, my home is about 20 min from Chattanooga, 10 min from Cloudland Canyon State Park which boasts beautiful hiking trails complete with waterfalls and overlooks, mountain biking and horse trails. Lookout Mountain Flight Park, the premier hang gliding center in the US, is only one mile away and a great place to either take lessons, a tandem flight with an instructor, all of which have thousands of hours, or just hang out and watch the gliders launch and soar above the mountain. Covenant College is also nearby along with all of the Lookout Mtn attractions such as Rock City and Ruby Falls. Staying here offers peace & quiet, stunning sunsets and an outstanding view of the Lookout Valley but a short drive to Chattanooga and all of the neat things it has to offer from our awesome aquarium to the Chattanooga Choo Choo, the Southern Belle Riverboat, great music, restaurants and I could go on.... However you don't have to go into Chattanooga for a great meal as the Canyon Grill is just 5 miles away and serves incredible food including fish flown in daily from Alaska and a wood fired grill. Come see and have a wonderful stay in the woods. This is a vegetarian household and with prior arrangements you can add dinner for $15/pp and breakfast for $6/pp. The kitchen is available for your use but I would appreciate if you plan to cook meat that you use the outdoor grill. My home is also non smoking. Outdoor smoking is OK but PLEASE don't throw the butts around the property or over the bluff. I have 2 cats in residence so no pets please. Guest AccessKitchen access, BBQ grill, deck and view, washer/dryer, internet. Interaction with GuestsI love meeting new people and welcoming guests to my home. The Chattanooga area has been home to me for the last 19 years and although I have lived many places from Hawaii to the Virgin Islands, I chose this area and really enjoy introducing folks to the cool things to do around here. The NeighborhoodWhat I love about my neighborhood is the peace, the birds, the faraway train whistle several times a day and enjoying a sunset glass of wine. Getting AroundNo public transportation. Must have a vehicle. Other Things to NoteFiltered water at the kitchen sink.

Getting AroundNo public transit available. Other Things to NoteThere are ongoing restoration projects in order to maintain and upgrade this historic home. A note about cleanliness and old homes: Part of the charm of old homes and buildings is original and often now unavailable trims and fixtures. One of the reasons I bought this particular old house 10 years ago is that so much of the house is original to the 1929 building plan. Please try to understand that a house that is 86 years old with most of its original fixtures and trims will not be picture perfect. The patina that accumulates over time while charming to one, may be off putting to another. Please be assured, while I'm not perfect, the house is cleaned in between visits and maintained as efficiently as possible. Very old tile floors and original cast iron tubs may not be what you are used to seeing in a hotel room and aren't going to be Ajax white. Wood floors stained and washed over 86 years may not pass the white glove test. I only include this information to be fair to the house and to you. It's not perfect, It's old, I love it and most others do too. But if antiseptic surroundings make you most comfortable please reconsider this property for a new one or a hotel room. I do not want anyone to ever be disappointed and thank you for considering this property. I have an apartment at the back of the house. It's part of an add on to the original structure and I aim to be very discreet when guests are staying. Outside of my Nissan Pathfinder being visible you may not know I'm in. I am often away especially when guests are staying. Liquor is not sold in Walker County and City of Lafayette by the bottle or the drink. Plan accordingly. Beer and wine are sold Monday through Saturday. This business is listed with the State of Georgia and pays sales taxes as required by law. Sales taxes are included in the daily rate for your convenience.

Please note that T-Mobile does not have coverage here! Guest AccessThe Carriage House is accessible only by stairs ascending to its private deck, and then proceeding into the indoor space.
