The SpaceThe apartment is one of two sitting side by side on the top floor facing out into the bush and ocean beyond. The unit consists of two bedrooms. The first bedroom containing a Queen size bed. The second bedroom contains a single bed and a bunk bed. The bunk bed consists of a double bed on the bottom and a single on top. The bathroom contains a toilet, shower, washer and dryer. It has a fully functional kitchen including a smeg oven/stove, and microwave. The unit is very well insulated with all windows fitted with 'Low E' glass or double glazing. This along with a very efficient reverse cycle Aircon, makes the unit warm and comfortable in the depths of Winter, and cool in Summer. It is ideally suited for couples, a group of friends, or moderate size. Alternatively if you were to book the adjoining four bedroom apartment (Albert 1 also listed with Airbnb) it would be perfect for two to three families. The NeighborhoodThe property is set on one acre of land. The block is sloping and the house elevated on one side so that the Unit sits at tree top level and faces into the bush towards George River and Ocean. The stillness of the location is intermittently broken by the sounds of the breaking surf below, the abundant bird life as well and the odd koala or two. Getting AroundThe accommodation is only a few minutes drive from the centre of town and beach, or approximately twenty minutes energetic walk. The property is situated at the top of the hill, and although the walk back from town certainly gets your cardiovascular system working, generally it isn't a problem for most adults. However, it can be a bit of a challenge if you're pushing a pram, loaded down with beach equipment or trying to motivate young teenagers. But unless you're located right in town or very close to the beach, this is true for most of Lorne. The advantages are that it's only a gentle 15 minute walk to the wonderful 'Teddy’s Lookout' with its spectacular vistas, or a gentle 20 minute walk to Qdos Art Gallery. The location also offers numerous other beautiful bush walks all beginning at the front door. Other Things to NoteTry not to be to put off visiting the Surf Coast if bad weather is forecast. The weather here can change quite quickly. The drama and colors of the sky and ocean in the depths of winter can be truly spectacular. During Winter Lorne is very peaceful and one can often walk along stretchers of pristine beach with almost no one in sight. Then sit in a warm cafe with a hot tea or coffee and read a good book. Between July and September its whale watching season. (A flag is raised in front of the Tourist Information centre if a whale has been spotted close by) For these reasons we actually prefer Lorne in winter. There is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing :-)

The SpaceYou have a secure bedroom with a very comfortable double bed and an electric blanket for cool nights if needed. There is also a heater available to make your room warm and cosy for winter and a tower fan to take the heat out of the air at night during summer. There is a TV "monitor" in your room that plays a small selection of movies. Room is ideal for a single person or a couple. The bedroom is not big enough to cater for a family. Please be aware when you book this is my home - it's a "cabin" so it's small. I will be here in the evening during your stay - most of the time I retire to my room but sometimes I may be cooking or have a visitor staying. You are renting a "bedroom" not the whole cabin, but I am happy to share my space with you. Guest AccessCar parking is on the street only, in a private court. The only access to the property is down a steep flight of stairs (refer to photo) but the surroundings are very private and tranquil. I live in the cabin, so I will be here during your stay but work full time during the day Tuesday to Saturday. My partner works away but will be here occasionally. I am a casual, warm, friendly person and my aim is to help make your visit to Lorne comfortable. Help yourself to tea, coffee and toast for breakfast if needed. Bathroom is shared. . Whether you are staying for 1 night or several you will love Lorne !!! Interaction with GuestsTotally up to you whether you want to come and have a chat, share a glass of wine and watch TV or just enjoy your own private space. I will be here during your stay but my aim is to give you as much privacy as possible. The NeighborhoodAnytime is a good time to visit Lorne. Summer is finally here, but I would suggest still bringing some warm clothes. I am lucky enough to live 3 blocks up from the main street - a quick drive or a 10 minute walk down to the beach. I am able to share with you - safe swimming beaches, rainforest, waterfalls, Australian wildlife in abundance and much more. I have my own piece of paradise tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Getting AroundDriving to my cabin from the main street is further than walking. There is a short cut through to Otway street that is only accessible if you are on foot and you will come out at the footy oval. Everything in Lorne is uphill except the main street and the footy oval, so be prepared for some steep hills if you are walking. !! If you are relying on public transport, VLine will advise you on timetables for Lorne. Ideally you need a car to go from town to town. Other Things to NoteDue to commitments with other guests and work it's not always possible to check in at 2pm or check out at 10am. I always discount the cost of the room on the calendar for that inconvenience. Check in could be 6pm and/ or check out "STRICTLY" no later than 9am. That is so I can have the room perfect for your arrival. Please check with me when you book.

Beyond the Lorne pier, Point Grey protects the Lorne main beach. With the seaside setting and cool waters of Louttit Bay, the bustling café culture and picturesque setting, there is little doubt as to why Lorne is one of the most popular holiday destinations in regional Victoria. The NeighborhoodLorne Manhattan is ideally located behind the Lorne Hotel and walking distance to the main shopping strip and beach. There are many great shops, cafes and restaurants to experience along with a cinema showing the latest movies. Lorne is very busy in the summer months so parking can be a challenge. Fortunately Lorne Manhattan allows you to walk to most places and leave your car behind. If you are looking to doing food shopping, there is only one store (Foodworks)down the opposite end of the main street so I would suggest you take your car there if you plan on buying up. Otherwise its a bout a 15min walk. Getting AroundWalking distance to beach, shops and pier.
