The SpaceRich in fauna and vegetation, Coatepeque Lake was born nearly 60,000 years ago after the explosion of a gigantic volcano, making it a unique and spectacular place in the world.
Our house is located on the shore of this magnificent lake and can accommodate up to 8 people, five in the 2 bedrooms, and 3 other in the living room's bed and sofa bed. It is therefore ideal for families or groups of friends.
You will also find a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, a coffee machine, appliances, utensils, dishes, cups and cutlery ready for you to use. For cooking outdoors, there is a barbecue terrace and its tools.
After having cooked a wonderful meal, you'll want to seat in one of three dinning tables: a very practical bar right next to the kitchen, a more formal dinning table inside the house or a beautiful outdoors dinning table with a panoramic view of the lake. You can also choose to put out foldable tables and chairs wherever you please in our luscious garden.
In the house there are 2 full bathrooms, one of them with a jacuzzi and a third half bathroom for quick access.
In the back of the house there is a fire pit set in the middle of the grove to enjoy a nice sunset or stargazing night.
But the main attraction, of course, is not the house, but the lake itself. All year around you can swim in it and practice many water activities like kayaking, sunbathing, sailing (if you know how to do it and let us know ahead of your arrival), etc. For an extra cost you can find diving and water skying classes by locals. By the way, a hot spring spot is only 10-15 min away by kayak. Guest AccessThere is a Sunfish sail boat available only to experienced user and upon request.
The Jetski use is restricted for security reasons. Getting AroundCoatepeque Lake is a short 45 minutes drive away from San Salvador and only 20 minutes from Santa Ana (second largest city in El Salvador). You won't find any supermarkets or major restaurants in the lake, only small rural corner shops and "changarros" (local cheap food joints).
To get to the house, there is no public transportation, so you have two options: you either rent a car at the airport (it should be high-raised for you have to take a 15 min dirt road) and we guide you and give you directions and you will be able to park right in the property; or we can contact you with Chele's driving services for an extra cost and he'll take you from the airport to the house's door (or anywhere else) and back. Other Things to NoteSince the access to supermarkets and restaurants is a little complicted, Santa Ana is 20 min away by car and San Salvador is 45 min away, we can provide pre-prepared meals ready for you in the house for an extra cost.
You can, of course, plan ahead and shop for groceries in San Salvador on your way to the lake, and cook by yourself in Coatepeque.
