The SpaceOur Retreat sits at 1,850 feet in an upland meadow surrounded by pristine North American forest. Designed as a venue for group retreats, we are now opening it up for wedding and special occasion celebrations as well as for those in search of a state of the art venue for their own group retreat. The main lodge is 120 by 60 feet with open space for yoga, movement or dance and groups of up to sixty people. An upper mezzanine in the main lodge offers a break out space. Two other spaces include a flat screen TV and a quiet room with sofas.
The bedrooms in the two story dorm wing are light, simply furnished with locally hand made maple beds and wardrobes, extremely comfortable mattresses and comforters. Most rooms face the pond and the gorgeous view of overlapping ridge lines.
We offer: private rooms with queen sized beds, private rooms with two twin beds, shared rooms with four bunk beds. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire lodge and kitchen, washer and dryer, six person sauna, treadmill, two secluded sitting rooms, two swimming ponds, porch, a stone terrace with outdoor tables and seating.
We also have three cedar paneled cabins for more small group spaces.
A private cabin next to the second smaller pond has a loft area for sleeping and could function as another meeting space. This is an amazing place for retreat leaders to create their own retreat on a spacious and extremely well equipped property.
For travelers, you will enjoy great walks, big skies filled with stars, a clear water pond, cosy fires, plenty of hot water and absolute silence for sleeping, reading, writing, reflecting. If you seek the solace of nature in a remote and pristine location, you will not be disappointed. Interaction with GuestsMarc and I will be on site to greet guests and guide them but guests will be left in privacy to enjoy the space and land. The NeighborhoodLowell is on the edge of the magical Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Fine dining, shopping and skiing are available in Stowe a scenic forty-five minute drive down renowned Route 100. The charming historic town of Newport is only thirty minutes away and offers the Newport Natural Market and Cafe, and the Brown Dog Bistro. The newly re vamped northern ski resort of Jay Peak is within twenty-five minutes drive and includes a water park as well as the best skiing in the area with often over 400 inches of snow a year! While the Retreat is well, remote in feeling, you can be in the line for your latte in Newport in half an hour if you are jonesing for your urban fix or longing for one of their eclectic sandwiches. Getting AroundYou will need to drive, either from your home, or from the Burlington Airport where you can rent a car. The drive from the airport is about an hour and a half. We are about four hours drive from Boston, and seven from NYC. Other Things to NoteWe are remote. Guests will need to arrive by car with groceries as if they are renting a house. We will provide breakfast but you will need to cook your other meals. The kitchen is commercial grade and fully equipped. We will provide a tea and coffee station.
As a group venue, you can provide your own food, or we can subcontract excellent local caterers.
