Quiet, peaceful with stunning views… you will be delighted! What’s nearby The property is about 40 minutes from Midland or Joondalup for shopping and a bit further north is the town of Bindoon home to the very popular and famous Bakehaus Bakery and its local art and craft and the wildflower festival in September. You will find nearby a number of wineries, restaurants, orchards and attractions to visit and enjoy The Chittering Valley Wine Trail which leads you on a scenic drive to the Stringybark Restaurant & Winery, the Western Range Winery and the Kyotmunga Estate among others. A bit further away The Maze/Outback Splash will certainly keep your children entertained. The ancient desert sculptures of the Pinnacles as well as the seasonal wildflowers which sit in the Nambung National Park north of Perth are not to be missed. For those who want a bit more action there are plenty of 4WD tracks in the nearby National Parks and in the sand dunes of Lancelin and much more to see in the well-known Swan Valley. The alfresco area features a good size BBQ and large outdoor table and chairs. A large size carport is attached to the homestead with direct access to the game room which features a dart board, social games such as scrabble, chess and poker etc. Netflix, a game console and free Wi-Fi. A good number of books and magazines are available in the reading room for those of you who might prefer to sit down and enjoy a good book. You may be fortunate to see Eagles or Hawks. Untouched rolling hills and distant forest view. No streetlights or sirens. Getting AroundYou will need a vehicle. Limited public transport. We can however arrange pickup and drop off, charges will apply. Other Things to NoteIf you can't handle being away from Internet, this is available along with Foxtel and a huge range of dvd,s.     The SpaceThe cottage is self contained set apart from the main house. It has a Fully equipped kitchen, reverse cycle air con, TV in lounge and bedroom. Bedroom also has a ceiling fan. Bathroom has shower toilet sink and heated towel rail. Guest AccessGuest will have access to the swimming pool with swim up byo bar. The use of the bbq area and comfortable pergola area overlooking pool Interaction with GuestsWe are more than happy to socialise with our guest but if its privacy you want that's fine. We also have 2 friendly German shepherds that love to be around us but if you are not comfortable with them we can keep them away. The NeighborhoodOur property is set on 6 acres of natural native bushland in the chittering hills. It's in a beautiful peaceful setting with lots of native birds. The strigybark winery is just 5 mins down the road where you can also get breakfast lunch and dinner. The swan valley is just a short drive away. The famous bindoon cafe is just a beautiful drive away through the chittering valley. Getting AroundGuest will need a car as there is no public transport around. However if you would like to go to the local wineries we can provide transport at a minimal cost

We specialise in country living at its most luxurious best. Whenever possible our breakfasts are from local produce, grown on our property and fresh eggs from our chickens (pick your own if you wish!) Spend your day enjoying our outdoor spa, listening to the beautiful birds and watching the kangaroos lazing and playing with their joeys. Occasionally spot the echidna and bunnies in the wild. Your night can be romantic under the stars, mesmerised by the flames of an open outdoor fire, listening to the crackle in the still of the night. Being situated on 5 acres it is very peaceful and you have complete privacy in or around the property. Beautiful pastures and bush and wildflowers all around you.           Situated approximately 65 km (~50 mins drive) north east of Perth CBD, Yira Katta is a 60-acre property, formerly part of the historic farm “Melrose”, and situated high above Lower Chittering. The setting is magnificent, with superb 360 degree views of the scenic, undulating countryside. The homestead is modern and comfortable, with a huge lounge, games and dining area, fully equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms and study (doubling as an extra sleeping area with futon sofa bunk bed and trundle bed). The property sleeps up to 4 adults and 4 children (8 max). Evaporative air conditioning and shady verandahs keep the homestead cool in summer and the heated outdoor spa, located in the gazebo in the beautiful gardens, can be used year-round. A wood burning stove provides ample heating in the cooler months. The property includes TV/DVD/stereo, a pool/snooker table with all accessories, Playstation with 2 controllers and games, selection of books, magazines, board games and jigsaw puzzles. The property is close to 5 vineyards - Stringybark has a lovely restaurant while the others provide wine and olive tastings from the cellar doors. Wildflowers are magnificent in spring and there are plenty of walk trails in the valley to allow exploration of the Brockman River and surrounding countryside. Yira Katta comprises the homestead and outbuildings, open paddocks used for sheep grazing and a substantial forested area towards the main entrance. The Brockman River runs along the property boundary and the perennial Marbling Brook runs through the bottom paddock. What is supplied? Stringybark (in walking distance) has a lovely restaurant while the others provide wine and olive tastings from the cellar doors. Wildflowers are magnificent in spring and there are plenty of walk trails in the valley. Golden Grove orchard is just down the road (10 min) for Devonshire teas and fresh fruit, orchard tours and other activities for the kids. The Maze/Outback Splash is a 15 minute drive away and offers timber, hedge and pine mazes and a wildlife park and also the newly opened Water Fun Park – fantastic fun for the kids. Bullsbrook, Bindoon, Gingin and Toodyay are a little further but within easy reach. More details about the Local Arts & Crafts (eg Bindoon Arts & Crafts, Canterbury Crafts), the Chittering Museum and the Chittering Valley Sculpture Trail are available on the Chittering Tourist Association website. Also check the website of the Gravity Discovery Centre in Gingin. For trips a little further afield you can try New Norcia for the monastery and bakery (45 mins), Lancelin for 4WDing and sandboarding in the dunes (just over 1 hr), and The Pinnacles (just over 2 hrs). And of course on your way back to Perth is the beautiful Swan Valley.
