Further along you will reach Fountainbridge, Edinburgh’s central business district, and boyhood home to the legendary 007 himself, Sir Sean Connery (or Big Tam, as he is affectionately known in these parts). Edinburgh also has a truly world class bus service, recently voted the best in Europe. Buses leave frequently from a stop less than 100 yards from our front door, and a day ticket for just £3.50 allows you unlimited travel throughout the day and a great opportunity to explore this remarkable city at your pace and leisure. Our rooms are immaculately presented, and have all been refurbished to the highest standards. Brand new beds, mattresses, linen and furniture are complimented with wall-hung flatscreen televisions, elegant tea/coffee making facilities and generous clothes hanging space for your use. A good night’s sleep is hugely important when enjoying a holiday, and that is why we have introduced black-out curtains to all our rooms, to help accentuate the peaceful surroundings of this listed Victorian town house. Free Wifi is available throughout. A traditional and hearty Scottish breakfast is served with our compliments in the Breakfast Room, where guests can enjoy the period feature bay window and prepare their itinerary. Private off street parking is available on site by prior arrangement with us, subject to availability. Please see our Terms & Conditions for further information: BOOKING CONFIRMATION Upon receipt of guests' booking request the value of the first night only is automatically taken as a deposit from the payment card supplied. This is non-refundable at all times. If invalid payment card details are supplied, the guest will be alerted and given 24hrs to provide an alternative method of payment, without which and after which the booking will be cancelled. Please note that any credit card transactions are subject to a 2.5% transaction fee. Debit cards are not subject to this transaction fee. The remainder of the balance is payable upon departure. Cheques are not accepted. CANCELLATION POLICY First night deposit payment is non-refundable at all times and full balance is only payable if booking is cancelled within 7 days before arrival date and is non-refundable at all times, in accordance with industry standards. RECEPTION, CHECK IN & CHECK OUT Due to being a family-run business and not a Hotel, we do not offer a 24hr Reception. Therefore, we may not always be available on the premises in person. Reception is open from 8am until 5pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm at weekends. There is an out of hours call centre available for emergencies only. CHECK IN Check in is available from 2pm and late arrivals are accepted however guests must notify Reception in advance in order to arrange entry to the guesthouse out of hours. CHECK OUT Check out is at 10am. Late check out can be arranged by prior arrangement with us. We will endeavour to accommodate you if we can. BREAKFAST Breakfast is included with all room bookings. FULLY NO-SMOKING POLICY On 26 March 2006 the law on smoking in Scotland changed. Smoking is no longer permitted in enclosed public places. Failure to comply with the law is now a criminal offence and individuals will receive a fixed penalty of £200 for smoking in a no-smoking premises. This will be automatically deducted from your payment card. LEFT LUGGAGE There is limited space for left luggage, and we like to help people when we can, within reason. Please ask at reception if you have any requirements to leave luggage and we will endeavour to help you if we can. There are certain circumstances which may preclude us from being able to help, in which case we can advise on alternative facilities at Edinburgh Waverely and St Andrews Bus Station. Please be aware that in all circumstances we accept no liability for loss of or damage to your property at any time during your stay in our hotel. PARKING Parking in Edinburgh is extremely difficult, very expensive and virtually impossible within the City Centre. There is unrestricted on-street parking available close to our Guesthouse between the hours of 5.30pm and 8.30am Monday-Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, however there are 3 bookable spaces at Edinburgh Caledonian Guesthouse, subject to availability for £10 per night. Parking must be pre-booked with Reception. GENERAL NOTES BECAUSE THERE ARE NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE IF A CANCELLATION IS NECESSARY, TRAVEL INSURANCE IS ESSENTIAL WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION.     Seashell Cottage is a charming traditional “home away from homeâ€? property located in the heart of the quiet coastal village, Lower Largo. This former fisherman's cottage is situated across the road from Largo Bay making it an extremely popular location for a holiday. Apart from the beautiful beach at Largo there are also superb beaches to be found in nearby Elie and St Andrews. The East Fife costal path extends for 78 miles starting at the Forth Bridge. There is a good local pub in Lower Largo as well as a hotel at the harbour which serves food daily. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The village is famous as the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk, the sailor who lived as a castaway for 4 years on Juan Fernandez Island and provided inspiration for Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. His statue stands above the doorway of his home on the Main Street. Lower Largo is a great location for golf enthusiasts with several premier golf courses nearby including Lundin Links, St Andrew, Crail, Anstruther and Ladybank. There are also many leisure facilities including walking, water sports and cricket. Tennis, squash and fitness facilities are available in the area. St Andrews is a short drive (11 miles) and is known worldwide as the home of golf. It is also home to the third oldest University in Scotland and it is well worth a visit to the quaint street and stunning beaches. Edinburgh is approximately and hour's drive from Lower Largo. The Accommodation: On the ground floor there is a small hallway giving access to the lounge which is open plan to a dining area and fully fitted kitchen. In the lounge area there is a double bed settee should extra beds be required. Upstairs there is a large bathroom and double bedroom (kingsize bed) with ample wardrobe space. The attic bedroom, which is accessed off the main bedroom, has twin beds and a dormer window. The Facilities: Gas Central Heating, Wireless Internet, Freeview TV with DVD player in lounge.       Positioned on the beach in the sleepy East Coast village of Lower Largo, Castaway is only a 15 minute drive to the world famous town of St Andrews.       Located in the picturesque and historic East Neuk (corner) of Fife, Kirkside Cottage sleeps 4 and is a pet friendly cosy single storey cottage finished in a contemporary style to a very high standard featuring all the facilities you would expect from a modern holiday cottage including WiFi. The cottage is in the heart of Upper Largo in the shadow of Upper Largo Church, 20 minutes walk from the beach in Lower Largo and yards from the hospitable Upper Largo Hotel. Many different walks and cycle routes emanate from the village of Upper Largo and the village is situated just off the Fife Coastal Path. Upper Largo is a stones throw from Largo Bay and the beach at Lower Largo and there are a number of walks that take you down from the village to the beach. For those wanting more of a walking challenge the volcanic plug of Largo Law rises up steeply behind the village and is an excellent challenge for those wanting to test themselves (please check the noticeboard at the foot of the Law for dog access as it varies by season). The village of Upper Largo has an excellent pub/restaurant which is a very short walk from Kirkside Cottage, the Crusoe Hotel and the Railway Inn are a longer walk or a short drive away in Lower Largo. The Railway is a great traditional dog friendly pub fantastic for a drink after a long walk, however it does not serve food, the Crusoe Bar and the Upper Largo Bar serve food and are dog friendly as well. Kirkside Cottage lies in the shadow of the ancient Church in the village and is a short distance from the ruins of Largo House which sit by the Upper Largo Cricket pitch which makes an excellent dog walking area and is a few yards from Kirkside Cottage The cottage is owned and run by Simon and Becca Allan who between them have over 30 years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and have used this experience to create accommodation that will meet your every need and be the centre piece of a perfect holiday We are a dog friendly property and allow a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs

        Welcome to SULA cottage, SULA cottage, is an individual, welcoming holiday home from home located in the picturesque East Coast village of Lower Largo, Fife The cottage was originally a fisherman's cottage and is situated right beside the famous Robinson Crusoe statue. Located on the Fife Coastal Path and just steps away from Largo Bay and just twenty minutes from St Andrews. The world famous home of golf. There are11 courses in the immediate area and more than 30 within a half hour's drive. Lundin Golf Club is a 5 minute drive away. SULA cottage would be ideal for anyone looking to golf or explore this special little corner of Fife. There are a host of leisure activities In the immediate area , including walking, fishing, sailing, golf, and sightseeing. Beside the quaint little harbour of Lower Largo there is a small grocery store, two pubs and local restaurant. Lundin Links has a Baker's, Butcher, Chemist and Coffee Shop. The cottage has two spacious bedrooms – One king bedded room with an en-suite bathroom and one twin bedded room. A fully equipped kitchen and dining room with a large living room area – perfect for family dinners and games! The cottage also has high-speed WIFI access, a 32 inch LCD television with over 32 channels to choose from, DVD player, Dishwasher, Washing Machine and a storage shed for bikes.           Holly Tree Cottage is a warm and welcoming cottage sleeping 2 to 4 people in an area of Scotland where there is plenty of holiday activities to partake in. It overlooks the village green in picturesque and tranquil village. Secluded and secure landscaped garden with patio and garden furniture ideal for alfresco meals! The beach is a short walk away through a Woodland Trust property. Golf courses are in abundance and there are many coastal walks (including the Fife Coastal Path) with superb views. Historic places and quaint fishing villages are close by. Ideal for touring - St Andrews is 10 miles away and Edinburgh, Perth and Stirling are within an hours drive. The village has a grocery shop for essentials and a hotel with a popular restaurant. More restaurants in nearby villages. Upper Largo (also known as Kirkton of Largo) is centred on the old Church which was consecrated in 1243 and sits high on a grassy knoll by the village green.The village is sheltered by the old volcanic mound of Largo Law to the North and is connected by a Woodlands Trust walk, the Serpentine, to Lower Largo, Largo Bay, the Coastal Path and the beach. Walkers and nature lovers also enjoy Keil's Den (Woodland's Trust) close by. Largo Law (967 feet) provides a more challenging walk but is worthwhile for the wonderful views. The location is ideal for exploring St Andrews and the East Neuk villages. Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth are an hours drive away and Glasgow and Aberdeen 2 hours away. Fife has 45 golf courses - all within easy reach and including those in St Andrews, the Home of Golf. Lundin Links, less than a mile away, boasts 2 courses - Lundin Golf Club - used as a qualifying course for the Open and the very unique Lundin Ladies Golf Club - the oldest ladies only club in the world. (Men are welcome to play there!) The ladies course is 9 holes, very picturesque and has standing stones as an unusual hazard on the second hole.             The spacious lounge shows fine views over the fields and onto the surrounding forest, it is equipped with large comfortable leather sofas, wide screen satellite TV, Wifi access, a cosy open fire with book library and board games, the dining area is fully furnished with stylish oak table and chairs. The spacious kitchen is equipped with all you would expect in the way of washing machines, dishwasher, crockery and cutlery etc, all the bedrooms are fully furnished with stylish antique pine, quality beds carpets and curtains. Grantown on Spey is a traditonal highland Town build around its charming tree lined square, it first came to prominance as a health resort for the victorians who were drawn to it by its clean air and secluded location amongst the extensive pine forests which still surround it today. The town has a good selection of shops selling varying wares not found in the mass supermarkets of today, their are also a good selection of bars hotels and restaurants,local facilities include the local golf course, tennis courts bowling green and sports centre which is to be found next to the seconery school on Cromdale road. The Anagach woods which were purchased by the local community ten years ago gives plenty opportunity to amble through the pine forests perhaps snatching a glance at a red squirrel or Capercallie this takes you down to the banks of the mighty River Spey Scotlands fasting flowing river. There is a cooperative super market in the square which is open from 7am to 10pm each day, this has just underwent a total refurbishment and carries an excellant assortment of food stuffs and wines etc. Being close to Aviemore this also ensures a further excellant choice of shops and restaurants and with Inverness being only a 30 minute drive away this provides a choice for the theatre at Eden court, ten pin bowling, cinemas, smimming pools, shopping and lots lots more. Corrimony is ideally located for touring the highlands in general and has great views onto the hills and nearby forest, leather sofas, open coal fire, stylishly furnished throughout, wifi access and close to many attractions, golfing, wildlife, castles and distilleries.

              Copperfield is a detached, single storey, two bedroomed whitewashed cottage in the quiet conservation area of this lovely village. Much of the cottage has been renovated recently and is warm, inviting and very comfortable. It has a large well fitted kitchen and large cosy sitting room with a dining area. The cottage has two bedrooms one with twin beds, the other has a king size double. All are new and with memory foam mattresses, sheets are cotton, the pillows are feather. All linen and towels are supplied. The cottage has its own private, two level garden with a brick BBQ and outside furniture. French windows open onto the patio and garden. There is off road parking for one car. It is also possible to park on the quiet, no through-road outside. The village has it's own hotel with bar and restaurant as well as a local grocery shop and newsagent, both are a short (2 minute) stroll away. There are also other restaurants within a 20 min walk and many more within a short drive. There are beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach both by car and on foot. There are also many delightful walks both on coastal paths and through the countryside. Cyclists are also catered for with over 300 miles of dedicated cycle paths. Children with love the beaches and the huge range of activities for them within easy reach of the cottage. For golfers there are over 40 golf courses within The Kingdom of Fife from the world famous courses at St Andrews to the Oldest Ladies Course in the World just one mile away in Lundin Links. Lundin Links also boasts the Lundin Golf Course which is used for qualifying rounds for The Open Golf Championships. Copperfield is close to many historic places and is in the East Neuk of Fife, an area renowned for its quaint fishing villages. We are lucky to be only 10 miles from St Andrews as well as having good road connections to Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and even Glasgow. Fully inclusive of towels bedlinen gas & electricity. Small welcome pack, milk, tea, coffee etc. Arrival after 16.00 Departure before 11am to allow us cleaning time. If you need to arrive or leave earlier or later let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you if at all possible. Upper Largo is in The East Neuk of Fife which boasts beautiful fishing villages and according to the Met Office an average of 1500 hours sunshine per year. We unfortunately can't arrange the weather for your stay though we do however offer a very nice garden! The village itself is unspoilt and much of it round the church, including the cottage, is within a conservation area. Upper Largo makes a very convenient and delightfully peaceful base for exploring the fantastic beaches and countryside in this area as well as offering easy access to many historic buildings and towns. Obviously we are also ideally situated for golf as well as walking, cycling and water sports. Warm and inviting detached cottage in conservation area of a lovely village. It is close to beautiful beaches and the stunning old fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife. Only 10 miles from St Andrews & Edinburgh only an hour away. Lots of things to see and do. Ideally situated for activities such as golf, walking, cycling & water sports. Or just curl up with a book!

                  Rockvale Cottage is a picturesque seafront holiday home in the scenic Fife village of Lower Largo only 11 miles from St Andrews and on the Fife coastal path. With stunning sea views and a new summer house it has private access to the beach from the sunny sheltered garden. The cottage sleeps 6 (plus 2 if using the sofa bed in the lounge) and has three generous sized bedrooms plus a sofa bed (for occasional guests), 2 bathrooms (one en suite) and a downstairs cloakroom. Rockvale Cottage is the ideal location for families, couples and groups of friends looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea. The beautiful master bedroom has a large balcony looking over the garden and sea where you can sit and enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine watching the sun go down over the beautiful bay. Downstairs the open plan kitchen and dining room are ideal for entertaining and lead to the large lounge (with wood burning stove) and sun room which spans the width of the cottage. The sun room has patio doors leading out to the sheltered patio which has a large table and 6 chairs and is a lovely setting for eating outdoors. For 2015 there is a new summer house in the garden with lovely views out to the sea. there is a barbeque and a chiminea.                     Situated in birthplace town of Robinson Crusoe (Alexander Selkirk) Delightful fishermans cottage tastefully modernised and well equipped inside to provide all the comforts of home. Situated right across the road from Largo's stunning two mile long sandy beach. Pub restaurants and local shops all within walking distance and St Andrews is just a 20 min drive away (11 miles). Edinburgh is about 38 miles from Lower Largo, and there's a train leaving from a town nearby. The Edinburgh airport would be the nearest one to us. The cottage is bright modern and contemporary inside with an attractive open plan living room on the ground floor. There are 2 further bedrooms - a double and a twin - plus a modern shower room. There is wireless Internet and a shared wall garden. The ground floor consists of an open plan living room with windows to front and back - a bright modern and airy room with stripped wooden flooring, large leather corner suite, foot stool and large LCD tv with Freeview as well as the Breakfast / Dining / Kitchen with dining bar with 4 chairs, electric 5-ring hob, double electric oven, microwave etc. On the first floor you'll find a seating area with small sofa, the master bedroom with double bed, fitted wardrobe with mirror sliding doors and LCD TV, and the shower room with shower, WC and WH basin, shaver point, wall to wall mirrors and storage. Stairs lead from the master bedroom upstairs to this attic bedroom, which is best suited for children - there are two single beds, a LCD TV and velux window. Outside - a large shared walled area of garden is reached via a lane beside the cottage which is safely enclosed.                         Ewing Bank is perfect for golf lovers with Leven Thistle Golf Club immediately opposite leading to Leven Links Golf Course and Leven Links Golf Society. The Golf Course itself is a par 71, 18 hole course which has been used 5 times to host the qualifiers for The Open at St Andrews. Ewing Bank Cottage has an access key to The Thistle Golf Club which has a bar & restaurant. The cottage is also well placed for access to Leven Beach & Promenade with amusements, skate park and adventure playground only 200 metres away. Leven Bowling Club can be found next to the golf course. The beach is on the Fife coastal path and has beautiful golden sands to explore. The town centre shopping is 500 metres away where a large variety of major shops and specialist stores can be found, along with a few bars & eateries. Guests must provide the (numbers and ) names of ALL persons who will be staying in the cottage prior to final booking/ on point of booking. Rockpool sleeps from 1 person up to a maximum of 4 people in 1 double bed and 2 adult sized single beds. This includes children,but an Infant in cot/ crib not included in this number. The host can provide a travel cot and high chair free of charge. Let your host know on point of booking too. The property has a seaside theme in decoration and is very well equipped. The first bedroom has a double bed and the second two single beds. The two single beds and mattresses are new in November 2015, and are white New England style. The bathroom has a bath and overhead shower with shower curtain. Open plan kitchen/livingroom and a working inglenook open log fire for those chilly nights. The open fire will be set up to start you off on arrival and a few extra logs will be in the log basket too. The Premier Store across the road stocks logs,kindling,firefighters. Blacketyside Farm Shop ,between here and Leven also stocks all of this plus a great selection of quality foods and a lovely restaurant( closed Sundays ). A visit to this very large and first class Farm Shop is highly recommended. The whole apartment is on one lower level. No internal stairs to any of the rooms. Entrance is from a small enclosed doorway with one step down to door. Courtyard gate leads directly onto beach. Patio with table/chairs for Rockpool is to the left of courtyard. The table has a sign reading ' Rockpool Cottage'. Guest AccessAll the rooms are for guests. The level is the lower ground annexe of the property and the level above this is not part of Rockpool therefore the internal stairs leading to the door marked PRIVATE is not for guests. IMPORTANT TO NOTE : CEILING HEIGHTS ON ENTRY AND INSIDE THE COTTAGE:- OUTSIDE: LOWER OUTSIDE HEIGHT ON STEPPING DOWN ONTO FIRST STEP OF ENCLOSED OUTSIDE ENTRANCE TO ROCKPOOL COTTAGE. The hallway ceiling height is 6ft 6in. The living area and other rooms ceiling heights are approx 6ft 9in. Please bear these points in mind BEFORE booking. The NeighborhoodLower Largo is a quaint little fishing village with interesting history. The real Robinson Crusoe,Alexander Selkirk,was born and lived here and there is a statue in Main Street to mark the site of his birthplace. The Hotel and restaurant on the harbour is named The Crusoe Hotel . The lovely ambience of the village is marked by the friendliness of the locals, the welcoming local pub ,the Railway Inn, a few steps away at the harbour,the convenient harbour shop across from the beachside apartment and ,of course,the beach directly on your doorstep . There is golfing nearby in Leven and in Lundin Links which is a few mins walk away. There is also a nine hole Ladies Golf course in LundinLinks and of course the famous Golf Course in St Andrews town which is only 20 mins drive away. Lovely coastal walks all along Largo through to Elie. Edinburgh only 45-50 mins drive. Dundee 40 mins and Glasgow 75 mins drive. Edinburgh Airport is not far and Dundee also has a small airport. Railway links are in Kirkcaldy, 20-25 mins drive away, and also in Markinch,15 mins drive away. Lower Largo has good eating places nearby and there is also the village's Largo Bay Sailing Club which attracts sailors from all over and is very popular. You can see the boats from the courtyard sea wall sailing in the bay. If you are really lucky Dolphins have been spotted by guests frolicking nearby in the Bay in front of the seaside courtyard. Getting AroundBus stop at harbour and another on main route road in Lundin Links ,a 5 min walk upwards from the harbour. Parking is only on the street but there is a free public car park just two mins walk away. Nearest main Supermarket is Sainsbury which is 5 mins drive away in Leven. Morrisons supermarket is at the beginning of your entering St Andrews. The local shop here at the harbour supplies daily essentials and your newspapers. Other Things to NoteThe building which houses Rockpool Cottage has a lovely courtyard which can be used by the two other homes above,each with their own personal tables and seating outside. Remember that it is important to be aware of noise level as this can disturb others especially at night. On the roomy shared courtyard there are three sets of garden tables and seating. The set on the left hand side of the path towards the beach gate,with the black table,chairs and table Parasol ,is for Rockpool Cottage guests. The two tables ( for no 16 and no 18) and seating on the right hand side of the path is for the two properties with balconies which are above Rockpool.

There are large glazed doors in the living room to maximise the light and stunning sea views. For colder nights there is gas central heating and a wood burning stove in the living room. There are 4 bedrooms with original pine panelling and integrated storage: one with king-size bed, one double , and two singles. The living area and kitchen/ dining room are open plan with glazed doors dividing the space. The kitchen is fully fitted with cupboards, fridge, dishwasher and a gas cooker. One bathroom with overbath shower is situated on the first floor and there is also a WC with wash hand basin on the upper floor. The NeighborhoodLower Largo is a small, historic village hugging the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. It is the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk who was the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. A statue to Selkirk can be found on the Main Street. As Lower Largo faces due south, it enjoys long sunny days in the summer and the ever-changing light and seascape makes it an artist's or photographer's paradise. The beach is sandy and is perfect for children to paddle and explore rockpools and sand dunes. The village shop, a bar and hotel are within 100 yards of the property with excellent food available in the Crusoe Hotel restaurant and bar. Not too far away you will find some of Scotland's best cuisine at the Peat Inn , the Cellar , Sangster's in Elie and at the Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews. Three supermarkets and a range of local shopping is available in Leven, 2 miles away. There is also a popular farm- produce shop within walking distance between Leven and Lundin Links around 1.5 miles away. For families, the local area has many attractions including National Trust properties, castles, coastal walks, sailing, canoeing and an indoor swimming pool at Leven, 3 miles away. Local villages such as Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail are within easy reach, each with individual characters and amenities. If you play golf, there are many top quality courses in the vicinity, including the championship course in Lundin Links within walking distance. There is also a 9-hole ladies course in Lundin Links . Lower Largo is around 12 miles or a 20 minute drive from St Andrews and the numerous golf courses and historic buildings there. Getting AroundThere are airports in Edinburgh ( 1h 15 mins driving) and Dundee ( 50 minutes driving ).There is a bus stop very near the property with services to Leven, Kirkcaldy ( rail link) and St Andrews ( Leuchars rail link). Parking is on the street outside the property. There is also a public car park within a few minutes walk from the house. The property is yards from Largo beach and has open views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are located in the picturesque village of Lower Largo in the beautiful East Neuk (corner) of Fife, Scotland. The village is famous as the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk (the real Robinson Crusoe) and is located just 10 miles from St Andrews (the home of golf). There are two pubs within walking distance offering traditional Scottish hospitality and the region features a host of high quality attractions and eating places including 3 Michelin starred restaurants within a 15 minute drive as well as award winning fish and chip shops. For the more adventurous Edinburgh is an hour away and can be accessed by train using stations at Markinch or Kirkcaldy which offer free parking and we are an hour from Perth the gateway to the Highlands.
