The SpaceThis rustic little building is situated in my backyard garden and has been built and decorated in the Caribbean style. It even has a tin roof which is very cute but can be noisy in a rainstorm! (earplugs provided for light sleepers) Tea/coffee making facilities and a small refrigerator are provided in the bunkee. Towels and some personal care items are located in the private shower room about 100 feet away in the main house which is open all night. Again please note that the bathroom is not connected to the bunkee. If you are a frequent nighttime flyer and prefer en suite, I can recommend my sister's place right behind me see airbnb listing "Peaceful lakeside setting" Guests are welcome to use the pristine lake accessed via a wooded path (roughly 1/2 km) and can enjoy the little beach area with hammocks and chairs. We are on a main road so there is some traffic noise between 7am and 10pm. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the laundry in the main house and can choose to hang wet items on the washing line or use the tumble dryer. Things like irons/ ironing boards ; hairdryers can be provided for use in the main house. Interaction with GuestsBreakfast is available by request and is extra. My neighborhood is rural. We are a 5 km drive from downtown Lunenburg 7km drive from Mahone Bay and a 10 km drive from Backman's beach, a beautiful clean salt water beach. If you enjoy walking or cycling there is a trail system nearby that will take you to Lunenburg in one direction or Mahone Bay in the other. There is some road noise from 7am-10pm as the Northwest Road is a main route to Luenburg. Most guests have not minded this. By special permission from my sister who is also a airbnb host, our guests are invited to use the clean spring fed lake 1/2 km through a wooded path for a swim or a snoozy in the hammocks. Getting AroundWe are in the countryside! You need a car (or taxi) to drive to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay or surrounding areas. We are not in town so if you are looking for a place within walking distance of shops, pubs or restaurants keep looking! Other Things to NoteCheck in before 8pm Check out at 11am

The SpaceThis is a classic Lunenburg house from the beginning of the last century, built for the family that owned the foundry which still operates here. The old town is a UNESCO World Architectural Heritage site and it is easy to explore on foot from my place, which is at the head of the harbour. It is also easy to walk here from a mooring in the harbour. The Fisheries Museum can be reached by a footpath and the golf club is a 15-minute walk along the other side of the harbour. There are several lovely beaches within 20 minutes drive. Bicycling is great in the area and since there is not much traffic, inexperienced cyclists can feel safe. There is a kayak here which can be rolled down to a launch across the street. The bedroom is at the back of the house with its own bathroom. I can accommodate a couple and arrangements can be made for a child or third party as well. There is wireless internet for guests.
