The SpaceOur homestead, Willowthorne, is situated on 9 acres of wooded property featuring a large pond surrounded by willows. Delightful gardens dot the property, with sitting areas for chatting over sweet-smelling herbs or meditating upon the flowers. "Like" our social media page under Willowthorne and check out photos of Willowthorne grounds throughout the seasons. Guest AccessWe purchased the property this past year - as such we are slowly painting, updating and remodeling. There are two parts to the house - the old part, which we have not updated or furnished, and the new, which is the part you will have access to. The new is comfortably furnished, if not quite yet updated with paint and new carpet. You will find clean comfortable furnishings and linens.
Guests may not have access to the garage, space behind the garage unless otherwise specified, or any outbuildings or animal enclosures.
Guests are welcome to fish in the pond, but no swimming allowed.
Guests may not use the fire pit - outdoor grilling is allowed provided guests bring their own grill.
We do have farm animals as well as many wild animals, and yes, they make noise. We try to keep the noise from our roosters to a minimum, locating them away from the house when we can, but please be aware they are there. Most guests (and in particular our neighbors) have not reported problems with our animals. Interaction with GuestsI try to be available for greeting and checking out. If your check-in or check-out times are going to be different than originally stated, you must let me know 12 hours in advance. I'm happy to give tours upon check-in and will be available via phone/text/email for the duration of your stay.
Because we are a working farm, during busy seasons, I or my family might be on premise to check in on produce or animals. We may not need access to the house at these times, but I will inform you of any visit I make to the property. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood with easy access to surrounding towns. Take a walk by the pond, discover hidden gardens or meditate seated in our bower.
