The SpaceFull use of the 2 bedroom timber-frame cottage with it's magnificent views of the Magaliesberg mountain range - the most ancient mountain range in the southern hemisphere. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathroom. A veranda offers comfort whilst taking in the surrounding scenic landscape. Kitchen, dining and lounge area are open plan with the lounge looking out towards your mountain view.
We do not have TV or radio as nature provides its own chorus and entertainment for you. Guest AccessThe cottage is private with own gate entrance and parking for your vehicle. Whilst your accommodation is private, it is close enough should you have a request. There are walks around the farm if you're feeling energetic - we have access to our large field which leads down to the Magalies River. Interaction with GuestsOur resident tour guide is available to suggest or recommend restaurants, sightseeing trips, adventure activities, hot air ballooning or craft markets. You may wish to include a visit to the World Heritage Site of The Cradle of Humankind, where you can engage with early hominid exhibits or go on a cave tour where some of the hominid fossils were discovered.
We have free range hens and a rooster who may wander over to greet you, as may our dogs or even a cat or two. We have abundant bird life that visit to nest, mate and raise their young and forage amongst the trees. The NeighborhoodOur farm and cottage has panoramic views from east to west of the Magaliesberg mountain range. The landscape setting offers gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, together with amazing cloud formations depending on the weather at that time. It is an agricultural valley with a variety of farming activities taking place. It is also ideal for early morning hot air ballooning, microlight flying, mountain bike cycling, relaxing beauty SPA experiences, horse riding, bird watching and hiking. There are many restaurants in the district and a SPAR supermarket in the village of Magaliesburg about 20 kms from us. Pilanesberg National Park, home to the Big 5, is approx 1.5 hours drive away. Getting AroundYou will need your own vehicle to get to Magalies Mountain View Cottage as there is no public transport service to this area. The farm roads offer a fun-filled morning if you're a cyclist, so bring your bikes along. Binoculars for the bird enthusiasts. Other Things to NoteCome with an open heart and mind to unwind, relax, listen to the nature sounds around you and embrace your environment and the experience. You will return home feeling refreshed, relaxed and re-energised.
