The SpaceOur beach villa is located on one of Asia's most exclusive and private beaches, Natai Beach, but is only 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport which offers direct connectivity to almost all of Asia's major cities. It is absolute beachfront - walk out from the living room, past our private 13 meter lap pool and shallow children's pool, through the garden and onto the beach. Unlike almost all beach destinations in Asia, Natai Beach is not overdeveloped, with no crowds, no beach vendors, and only luxury private beach villas and a few boutique hotels along its 10 kilometer length. Facing west over the Andaman Sea, the villa enjoys spectacular sunsets almost every evening.
We enjoy exploring Phuket and our local community, which offers a wide range of activities. Fantastic Thai culture and food, lovely people, and incredible natural attractions such as waterfalls, a marine sanctuary for sea turtles and other wildlife, and of course Phang Nga bay with its world-famous islands. Guest AccessOur villa is managed by a professional management company and managing director speaks English, French, and Thai. The villa also is staffed by a full time maid who provides daily cleaning and laundry services to our guests. Our villa manager can facilitate all bookings for car rental, airport transfers, activities, and even arrange a fantastic Thai chef to cook meals at home.
For those who like golf, we are members at the world class Blue Canyon Country Club just 20 minutes away and can arrange special rates for our guests.
For foodies, other than the delicious local Thai cuisine, an amazing new ultra-luxury resort has just opened up a few minutes up the beach, Iniala's Aziamendi, owned by a 3 star Michelin chef from Spain. Truly spectacular and highly recommended.
We also strongly recommend renting a car to facilitate exploring the area. Our villa manager can arrange for a rental car to be delivered to the villa. Interaction with GuestsWe love to travel together with our 3 children, and we treasure the new experiences we have as a family. We have done many holiday home exchanges all over the world since 2008, all with great results. We enjoy being outdoors and close to the ocean, which is why we have a beachfront villa in Phuket as well as an oceanfront apartment in the Algarve, Portugal. We will send you a detail document about our villa and the nearby neighborhood once you've confirmed your booking. The NeighborhoodOur beach is only 20 minutes from the airport, but it's a quiet beach with only a few hotels and mostly very large villas. More of a private residential area rather than a built-up touristy destination with crowds, shops and touts. That's why we love our beach, but it does mean you'll need to be a bit more independent than if you were in a touristy area like Patong or Surin or Laguna in Phuket proper.
Khao Lak is about 40 minutes drive to the North, and has one of the better elephant trekking operators where you can ride through a rubber plantation.
Other places you can explore include a sea turtle rehabilitation center (20 minutes drive north), several waterfalls with swimming holes (10-45 minutes), and of course all of the attractions in Phuket - temples, fancy beach clubs, golf and the craziness that is Patong. If you play golf, we are members at Blue Canyon Country Club, about 15 minutes to the south, and I can arrange a discounted unaccompanied guest green fee for you. There are two very challenging championship courses there and one of the best in Thailand. Lots and lots of other attractions which I can recommend, depending on what you would like to do. I can also send you a document that we prepared for our guests at the villa with some ideas and places to go nearby. Getting AroundFor a short stay, you could do without renting a car, as our maid can do the shopping and you'll probably spend most of the time on the beach. But for a stay longer than a few days, a car will make the trip much more interesting and convenient. The roads are easy to navigate and it's very hard to get lost, and it means you can pop into the local supermarket (Tesco, 5 minutes away, has all the basics that you'll need) or visit the local market in the nearby town (called Khok Kloi). If you need more specialist foods, the nearest upscale gourmet supermarkets would be in the Central Festival shopping mall (45 minutes drive) or Villa Market (near Laguna, about 40 minutes). There's a much bigger Tesco about 30 minutes away which has more than our local Tesco.
In terms of restaurants, on our beach we have the Aleenta hotel about 1 km south on the beach - a boutique 5 star hotel with two very good restaurants. To the north about 3km, there's a new ultra-luxury 3-villa hotel called Iniala, which was just named as one of Conde Nast's 52 top hotels worldwide. The restaurant there is called Aziamendi and is half owned by a 3 star Michelin chef from Spain. A very very special place and worth the cost if you are a foodie. Iniala also has their own bakery which is incredible - 5 minutes from the house and you can email them your order the day before and pick it up fresh in the morning. The head of bakery was trained in Fauchon in Paris for 2 years. There are some great local Thai restaurants - quite basic decor, but great Thai food as you can imagine.
For more variety, there are several hotels 10 minutes drive away - Sala Phuket (very cool place), JW Marriott, Anantara, Renaissance, as well as a pub and cafe in a small shopping center called Turtle Village. Further afield, I'd recommend the Surin area (about 45 minutes drive), where the Amanpuri hotel is located. This is an upscale part of Phuket, and there are lots of beach clubs, shops, and Other Things to NoteLong stay offer of a week or more can be discussed.
