The SpaceLuna B&B is an elegant home that dates back to 1913 . We eager to share this comfortable, spacious and inviting space with you! The Visitor Center and Grand Forks Art Gallery, a stately building formerly the Heritage Courthouse Building is located conveniently at the end of the street, affording a park like setting for Luna. Great home and location for families with children, couples and business travelers.

The SpaceUsed only by a little old lady on Sundays. Well, almost. Purchased as a summer home by a then-young couple 40 years ago, the home got almost no use, and the 1970s vibe remains today—from paneling throughout to the dishes in the kitchen and the macrame owl on the wall. The home is situated on a 5-acre parcel of timber, with a year-round creek running through it. Great for breathing the fresh air and sitting creek-side to contemplate life. Although nestled in the trees, the home is easily accessed, no four-wheel drive needed. The home is actually two bedrooms, but the second is set aside for you to use as an office, a place to write, or a place to play with arts and crafts. Guest AccessYou have the run of the house and the woods. Interaction with GuestsYour host is a introverted home-body, so you won't be bothered. However, suggestions for things to do and where to go are happily provided. The NeighborhoodThis is the middle-of-nowhere USA. If you think it's groovy to encounter a flock of wild turkeys or see a deer amble by, this could be your spot. If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place, although Republic 15 miles to the south has a brew pub, a Friday market, and other amenities. Grand Forks, British Columbia is 15 miles north and includes a real small-town theater. Getting AroundPublic transit?? Well, you can hitchhike. Other Things to NoteThe home is for two people only, unless we mutually arrange otherwise.

The home overlooks the length of beautiful Curlew Lake, 8 miles north of Republic, Washington in the Okanogan highlands, between Tonasket and Kettle Falls. This area is sparsely populated but most of your favorite comforts are found nearby. The home has a spiritual quality hard to describe, but discovered by all who come here. The views through 72 windows are spectacular. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and the wildlife is a constant source of wonder. The home is built on 3 levels, great views in all directions and the horizons stretch very far, dozens of miles filled with scenic wonders. here your are surrounded by nature and wrapped in quiet. The nighttime sky is so filled with starlight it will astound. The kitchen and living areas are comfy, spacious and built for entertaining. There are three elevated decks and a large patio with outdoor cooking on an infra-red grill. The vaulted ceiling features a sky fresco bringing the horizons indoors and while you find comfort in the artfully furnished living space, you will be wrapped by the sculpted plaster finish on the walls that reminds of a Mediterranean villa. The Kiva Firepit is great for gatherings, there is a garden gazebo, and much more over the 4 acre spread. Enjoy the volleyball court, a horse shoe pit, or grab the four kayaks and head down to the lake. One of the better fishing lakes in the state, with trout, bass, tiger muskie and more. We have a dock an easy walk from the house to make launching kayaks a breeze, just let us know your wishes and we will arrange the use. When indoors the kids can play foosball, enjoy lots of board games and videos, while mom and dad relax to soothing music and the grace of the eagles that love to soar over the property. There are other amenities as well, including a tanning bed. add 15.00/night for adult guests afer the first two Sub Alpine conditions at half mile elevation. The name says it, Big Pines stand tall all around, the lake stretches out for eight miles from the prominent place we chose for the house. Wonderful walking, biking, trekking, kayaking, fishing and wildlife watching. Plenty of parking. Very accessible from town of Republic where you can find all the conveniences, including a wonderful brew pub and a great pizzeria and much more. 20 minute drive to Canada border at midway crossing. Plenty of sunshine, but weather changes here swiftly, so come prepared. Bring your hiking shoes, your bike, binoculars or camera. So much to see. Enjoy.

The SpaceAre you looking for a unique cultural experience? We offer: a peaceful quiet place to enjoy bird watching - listening to their songs; a beautiful flower garden - a pleasure to the eye; fresh, locally grown organic food - a unique blend of choices cooked with a Russian flavour. We practice Russian hospitality; you will be treated like family here. On the property, we have a Banya (Russian sauna) heated with firewood -- yes, you can even chop your own firewood! Local activities include swimming, hiking, fishing, nature walks, a trip to Rock Candy mine, and a tour of historical sites of the Doukhobor culture. Swimming is an essential part of our summers here. It’s a 5 minute walk to the nearest sandy beach on Kettle river; and a 15 minute drive to Christina Lake – the warmest tree lined lake in Canada with its sandy beaches, rainbow trout, and (in season) salmon spawning at the head of the lake. The tranquil beauty of the lake attracts tourists from all over the world. Guest AccessThere is plenty of room in the driveway - you don't have to worry about crammed parking. The yard is fenced - keeps the deer away, yes, deer eating our garden is a problem. You can walk around the yard and enjoy the colourful display of shrubs, trees, and flowers that change their colour palette throughout the seasons or take a saunter through the vegetable garden - we take pride in it! You can either go “out and about” and enjoy the area’s features or just enjoy some quiet time reading a book under one of the trees. Interaction with GuestsWe interact with our guests. We can tell you about the local interest sites such as the museum or the art gallery. We can help you to put together an itinerary for the day, or just leave you to relax in the garden. Guided tours are available upon request. The NeighborhoodAlthough we are situated within city limits there's still plenty of space to get in touch with nature. Getting AroundDid you bring your bike. We've lots of bike trails. We are within walking distance to downtown. If you only brought your car then parking isn't a issue. Other Things to NoteWe can serve a hearty breakfast, gluten- free and dairy-free choices are available on request (please let us know in advance). Additional dishes including various Russian cuisine can be purchased on request: Borscht - traditional Russian beet, cabbage, and tomato soup. Blinchyki – crepes with several different fillings: ground beef, cottage cheese, mushrooms, or apple filling for dessert. Served with sour cream. Pyrozhki – baked or fried in oil and butter traditional pastries with many different types of fillings. Goloobtsy - cabbage rolls in tomato sauce. The filling could be made with ground beef or rice to accommodate non-meat eaters. Farshirovannyi perets – sweet red and green peppers stuffed with filling similar to goloobtsy filling. Interaction with GuestsDavid and I are nearly always both present at breakfast, and during the rest of the day we are probably at our nearby store if we aren't there.
