The SpaceThis is an excellent choice of accomodations for expatriates, graduate students, free-spirited business people and world travelers who seek refuge from the maddening crowd but still value proximity and convenience. Guests will have access to the kitchen and back yard. During the summer months, the back yard boasts a beautiful landscape with a large swimming pool and outdoor table tennis. Guest AccessIn addition to the private suite, guests also have access to the kitchen, back yard and pool. Interaction with GuestsWe take our cue from our guests. Some guests are very sociable and we are happy to get to know them and answer any questions they may have. Other guests enjoy their privacy and we respect their preferences. Our objective is simply to help them enjoy their stay as much as possible. The NeighborhoodRye is a sophisticated small town lapped by the waters of Long Island Sound and blessed by a preponderance of trees and parkland. Our home is located in Greenhaven with access to private beach within walking distance. Our property is quiet and serene and in the mornings you may even see deer grazing in the front yard! There is a 151-acre wildlife sanctuary and adjoining National Historic Landmark just a 10-minute walk away. There are also scores of fabulous restaurants within a 15-minute driving radius. Other numerous attractions in the area include shopping, entertainment, recreational and historical sites in addition to Rye Town Park & Beach and the famous Rye Playland. Further shopping and fine dining choices are available in nearby Greenwich, CT. Getting AroundOur beautiful home is a 30 minute train ride from Grand Central Station. The Metro North railway system is a 5-minute drive from our home. Other Things to NoteGuests will have the privacy of their own entrance, bedroom and bathroom. Bedding includes a Full-size Shikifuton (54" x 80"). The private suite is located on the second floor. We have Wi-Fi throughout the house. Secure parking in private driveway. The SpaceApartment looks out over a marshland bird sanctuary with a tidal creek for kayaking to Long Island Sound! Every day you get to witness osprey, egrets, herons, hawks, and more. The kitchenette includes a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer, and a table with 3-4 seats. We supply linens, towels, toilet paper, and kitchen cleaning items. Guest AccessGuests have access to WIFI Internet/TV service, private back yard, bicycles, and kayaks. Down the street is a private neighborhood beach club with pools, grassy areas for picnicing, and moorings (additional fees apply---see (URL HIDDEN) Oakland Beach and The Nature Conservancy in Rye are minutes away as are various public tennis and golf clubs. The NeighborhoodWe most enjoy the neighborhood's proximity to Long Island Sound and the outdoors while being a short commute to the City. Neighbors are friendly. There are block parties and beach club gatherings. The winter is mild relative to weather experienced a few miles inland. Getting AroundMetro North train station is a 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk away. A number of commuters ride bikes to the station. Other Things to NoteSmoking, burning of candles, and fires of any kind are prohibited within the premises or on the property.

The SpaceBeautiful romantic home, hardwood floors, close to all, really! Lovely garden and river to enjoy. 3 bedrooms (duplex) and pull out couch in living room. Great place for peace and quiet. Guest AccessGuest may use the trampoline/ zip line or just relax in the adirondack chairs, read a book in the hammock, use fire pit or catch some fresh water fish! Use the steep stairs going down to enter the duplex through the French doors. My ex lives upstairs but uses separate entrance. Interaction with GuestsWe will be traveling but have a number of local friends and handyman for you (if needed). I Will be reachable by e mail. 100% respond rate! The Neighborhood5 minute walk to: harbor, restaurants, shops, train station, library, parks and even a beach! Walk around the harbor and discover all the great restaurants and bakery's or take a swim at the beach. Feed the ducks or discover Manhattan or New England. Getting AroundMetro-North ( 5 min walk) will take you to Manhattan in 30 minutes ,cars for rent in the area and public transportation available. Other Things to NoteRye Playland is 10 minutes drive. It has a swimming pool, skating rink, beach and amusement park for all ages. Manhattan is 35 minute train ride ( metro north) away and you can walk to the train station or a $5 taxi ride ( (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN))

The SpaceThese rooms are small but comfortable for two. The futon in the TV room can be used for a third guest but is not that comfortable. The bedroom, TV room and bath are all next to each other on the main floor. Guests use the side door and walk through the kitchen to the rooms. A mini-fridge and coffee maker is located in the TV Room. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood in tree lined setting. Many good restaurants within walking distance on Mamaroneck's Main Street built in the late 1800s. Famous area eateries include Sal's pizza, and Walter's hot dogs. You will find pizza, deli's, bakeries and all types of ethnic and American restaurants. Getting AroundIt is a 15 minute walk to the Mamaroneck train station which has trains to and from Grand Central in Manhattan at least 2x an hour (35 to 40 min ride on the train) or a 25 minute drive to Manhattan if it is not rush hour. Street parking is always available and there is easy access to Route 1, Interstate 95, and the Hutchinson River Parkway. Uber is also available and Mamaroneck Taxi Service Other Things to NoteIf you are arriving after dark, don't worry if you don't see an outside light on. The lights are triggered by motion and will come on as you come up the back walk to the door. A lockbox with a key is used if we are not home.

There is also a small powder room or "loo" available at the other end of the house if needs arise. Guest AccessOur guests are welcome to 24-hour access to the bedroom & bathroom facilities. Also, we are welcoming guests onto the large, serene screened-in porch in the afternoon, i.e., noon to dusk. The living room, kitchen, and other rooms of the house are just for entry and exit. While no one should feel excluded -- you are most welcome in our home, if these areas were also part of the rental, the fee would be for the whole house and considerably higher. The NeighborhoodThe house is within Shore Acres, a residential community situated on Long Island Sound in the Village of Mamaroneck, NY. Roughly 200 homes (and families) sit on a neck of land bordered by two salt marshes, known as the Guion and Otter Creeks and preserved as wildlife sanctuaries (53 acres of protected saltwater wetlands teeming with waterfowl, fish, deer, and other wildlife). The Shore Acres community is known for its leafy residential streets that lead down to shared facilities that stand over the entrance to Mamaroneck Harbor. At the furthest point of the peninsula, the SAPC clubhouse, pool, beach, and boating facilities are available to SAPC shareholders-members and their guests. Shore Acres is a coastal neighborhood: historic, walkable, well populated, and on the water. This gives the location a nautical atmosphere, with some seaside and shipping feel. Getting AroundThe village, 23 miles from Midtown Manhattan, has multiple train departures per hour to NYC. E.g., the 7:22 a.m. Metro-North Railroad express train gets to Grand Central Terminal in 38 minutes. One-way ticket, bought before entry, for adult/teen, Senior/Disabled/Medicare, and Child Off-Peak are $(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), respectively. By car, the drive south to mid-town on Interstate 95 takes about 40 minutes, depending on traffic. The SpaceElegant living by the waterside includes a dock. Perfect for smaller special weekends and occasions. This house was built by renowned movie mogul Skouris, once owner of 20th Century Fox. The house was visited by numerous stars including Burton and Taylor who often stayed there. Some of the furniture from the filming of Cleopatra are still at the house.       The SpaceThe private bedroom and bathroom is on the lower level between the main levels and the basement. It has good light with two windows facing 2 directions. Guest AccessWe are a super friendly and welcoming family and welcome guests to use the common space of the main house. Guests should feel comfortable cooking in the kitchen and we are happy to provide fridge and cupboard shelves for food storage in the kitchen. The rear deck is also great for dining alfresco and the living room has a big screen tv and access to Netflix and AppleTV. There is also a fully finished basement with tv and game tables as well as couches and tables. We have extra bicycles we are happy to share with guests who want to explore the area. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available during your stay to assist you with any needs that may arise. We are also very friendly so if you are interested to socialize we would love to, or we will respect your privacy if preferred. Full disclosure I do have 3 children living here (all older than 9 years old) but they are trained to be quiet and respectful when we have AirBnB guests. The NeighborhoodClean and cozy family home on Scarsdale/ New Rochelle border in Westchester County, which is 19 miles north of midtown Manhattan. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe and has some local parks, running trails, tennis courts. Getting AroundThe metro north train station in Scarsdale is a 6-minute drive and the express train to Grand Central Terminal is 30 minutes. The Amtrak train station in New Rochelle is a 15-minute drive. Kennedy Airport is a 40-minute drive, LaGuardia Airport is 23-minute drive, the Westchester County Airport is 16-minute drive. A car is needed to get to transportation, though a local taxi service offers delivery to the Scarsdale train station for $7. I am happy to offer taxi service for a fee including airport dropoff/pickup.       We offer a 3 bedroom duplex with garden and porch in a private home on the Mamaroneck river. It is walking distance to the train station, park, harbor, beach, library and many restaurants. The kitchen is renovated with hardwood floors and high end appliances for your convenience. It is close to all with a beautiful landscaped garden overlooking the river. The perfect escape from the City but conveniently located. We have a friendly cat who will be there. He has it's own cat door so very low maintenance.

Kayak from the backyard to Long Island Sound where you can explore, fish or swim. Short train commute to Grand Central of less than 40 min.       Beautiful home along Long Island Sound with outstanding views of the water. A wonderful quiet spot to get away from the city, however one can easily commute back and forth from NYC. There are 5 bedrooms, 3 with direct views over the water. There are 4 full baths and 2 half baths. It was originally built by the movie mogul who filmed Cleopatra. The house has beautiful yard and gardens and includes a dock. Small events are possible however the road is private so parking is very limited. Larger events require security and additional fee.
