The SpaceYour queen bedroom has its own private ensuite with a shower, toilet and vanity. It also has a walk-through robe with plenty of room for all your gear and a small balcony.
When it gets too hot, your room has both an air-conditioner and a ceiling fan.
Towels and linens all included. And we can even lend you a couple of beach towels for the pool or to take with you on a boat trip or into town for a dip in the lagoon.
Please note, your room has a privacy lock, so it can be locked from the inside. But there is no key, so you can't lock it when you go out. Guest AccessYou will have full access to our kitchen, including space in the fridge/pantry for your food as well as use of the stove, oven, microwave, appliances, pots & pans, utensils, plates & bowls, etc.
We also have a full laundry equipped with a washing machine, clothes dryer, outdoor clothes line, iron and ironing board for your use.
For the fun stuff, our small apartment complex also has its own swimming pool shared with other tenants, which you are welcome to use. We can even provide you with some beach towels : )
We also have a couple of armchairs out the back where you can relax with a cup of tea and a book, giving you another outdoor space.
For guests who have a car, there is uncovered parking on the premises or street parking out the front.
And we have Wi-Fi Internet throughout the house. Interaction with GuestsWe are usually around and are happy to have a chat and answer any questions you may have about the area or what to do. We also try to keep a good supply of maps, brochures and flyers detailing the various boat trips and countless other activities available in Airlie Beach and the surrounding area. The NeighborhoodIf you're looking at this listing, you probably already know what a great place Airlie Beach is for anyone who loves the sun! It's a beautiful area and the jump off point for Hamilton Island, Daydream Island and the rest of the Whitsunday chain of islands. It's also only a couple of hours' boat ride to the fantastic Great Barrier Reef--highly recommended as a day trip!
If you're into sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, catamaraning, bushwalking, camping on deserted islands, skydiving, swimming, sun-baking, sipping cocktails by the pool or just eating and enjoying the nightlife, Airlie Beach has got tons to offer.
Jubilee Pocket, where we live, is just 1.5 km down the road from the Airlie Beach main strip. Bookended by the beach on one side and Conway National Park on the other, Jubilee Pocket is the best of both worlds: it's close to all the action when you want it, but far enough away that you can take a break and re-energize when you've had all the fun you can handle : )
To get into town (Airlie Beach), it's an easy three-minute drive or a pleasant 20-minute walk. Or if its too hot, just walk the three minutes to the bus stop. If you're coming back exhausted after a big day on the water (or a big night out at the local bars) there are plenty of taxis in town that will bring you home.
There's plenty of restaurants in town too, but if you need supplies for cooking, we are just a few steps away from a large IGA supermarket. It's open from 6 am to 9 pm every day and has a good range and variety of products. There is also a pub with a sports bar, family bistro and bottle shop just across the road from the IGA.
If you don't want to walk all the way into town, the Port of Airlie marina and commercial complex is even closer. At the various establishments here you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner or just sip a coffee or glass of wine and enjoy the view. Getting AroundFor guests with a car, there is guest parking on the premises or plenty of street parking available. We are just a three-minute drive from the main center of Airlie Beach and a two-minute drive from the Port of Airlie marina.
For those without a car, there is a bus stop just a few minutes' walk away with buses to Shute Harbour in one direction or Airlie Beach and Cannonvale in the other running pretty regularly throughout the day and evening. We can provide you with a bus timetable.
Otherwise the local taxi service is available day and night and also does airport transfers from Whitsunday Coast (formerly Proserpine) Airport (PPP). You can also rent a car at the airport from one of the usual hire car companies. Other transfer options from the airport are catching the local bus or using a bus service run by a private operator.
If you want to explore the area on your own, there are places in town that offer daily or half-daily hire of scooters, bicycles and cars.
Or if you just need a quick lift somewhere, we might be able to help you out, depending on our schedule : ) Other Things to NotePlease note that this listing is for a private bedroom in a two-story townhouse and that the bedroom is located on the 2nd floor. So this place won't be a good choice for anyone with mobility issues or for guests traveling with infants (as we don't have a child safety gate installed at the top of the stairs). And no, there is no elevator to help with your heavy luggage!
On the other hand, unlike most places in Airlie Beach, we are NOT located right at the top of a huge hill (those views come at a price!). So you won't be stuck either driving everywhere or having to huff and puff up a 50-degree slope in the heat with your luggage/shopping/beach gear etc : )
