It is on the second floor, away from the main action, making it a perfect retreat. Huge picture windows overlook the Cypriot landscape. Our house is a perfect, restful home away from home. Guest AccessOne of my guests said, I love your living room. It's a different place in every window. And you are welcome to enjoy the different view from every window. The family uses mostly the ground floor. The first floor of the house, including an enormous and fully-equipped kitchen and living room is rarely used, mostly in celebrations. Enjoy your time there! Interaction with GuestsWe are a friendly Cypriot family who love to welcome people to our beautiful island. We offer free rides from and to the airport and if the beach seems far for you to walk (2km away or 20 to 30 minutes walk), we would be able to drive you there. Most of the time we are available at any time, but there are times, when you will need to be flexible. We rent two rooms in this house, so you might find another traveler to hang out with. If you wish to stay alone, simply close your door and we will respect your need for privacy and rest. Due to time limitations and our busy schedule, we might not be able to hang out with you. However, at nighttime my mother and aunt are always hanging out in the ground floor's kitchen and I am there pretty often. Feel free to visit and have some dinner and a chat with us. The NeighborhoodOur house is in the beautiful village of Mandria. Mandria is a rural area, even though it is considered suburban, due to the development it has had the last years. You can be at the city center in 20 to 30 minutes by car or bus and at the airport in 10 minutes by car. If you prefer to take it easy and explore closer to home, you can find traditional, or more trendy restaurants and coffee shops ten minutes walk from your door. In Mandria, you cannot find any clubs, bars, or parties. If this is what you are looking for, pick a place closer to the city center or Kato Paphos. Here, you will find serene and restorative nature walks, a virgin, unlittered, gravel beach, many fields full of crops, and a magnificent sunset and sunrise. In Mandria you are close to nature, while having the luxuries of a city house. Getting AroundRenting a car would be the most convenient to move outside the village, and there is a bike rental to move within the village. We can also give you a ride to the beach and to the airport, occassionally to the city center if it's convenient. Four buses: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), and 632 all stop to the village. The latest bus runs until 22:30 everyday, so if you are going out for the night, please plan to have a car or get a taxi. More information on buses follows. However, if you read so far, you must have a good idea of our place. Please include the word orchid in your message to me to let me know that you respect my rules and you have read the description. Bus 601 runs from Karavella station (the main bus station in city center) to the village square (10 minute walk from our house) from 5:45 to 16:00 on weekdays and from 5:45 to 12:30 on Saturdays. Bus 630 runs from Karavella station to Pissouri (a village in Limassol) from 7:40 to 14:30, Monday through Saturday. It stops outside the village at our gas station. It is a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the house. Bus 631 runs from the harbour (the main touristic attraction downtown) to Kouklia (a nearby village). It stops at the gas station and is more convenient as it runs from 7:25 to 22:30 everyday including Sundays and holidays. Bus 632 runs from Paphos to Archimandrita (a nearby village) from 7:40 to 14:10 on weekdays and 7:40 to 12:30 on Saturdays. Of course once you are here I can show you the website and how to navigate to find your routes. Other Things to NoteIMPORTANT FOR YOUR COMFORT AND SAFETY 1) I know what it means to travel on a budget, I do it myself. However, I always prioritize my needs and safety comes first. Therefore, I need to kindly ask that you never ask to book a room outside airbnb! This is our family house and we need to feel the safety provided by the verification of ID and the insurance of this platform. 2) Please make sure that you read the amenities we provide and the special feature, e.g. smoking is allowed indoors, we have dogs (don't request to stay here if you are afraid). Feel free to ask me if there is something you don't understand, or need to clarify. 3) We charge 5 euros if you need us to change your linens. Extra towels are also 5 euros each. If you stay for longer than a month, we will provide you with an extra pair of sheets to change yourself. You can do your laundry at home. 5) Cyprus is a very warm country. The winter lasts two or three months and it's bearable, the coldest will be about 5 degrees celcius early in the morning or late at nights, for a few days every year. Because of that we don't have central heating. We do, however, have aircondition and space heaters in every room, which you can use. If at any point you feel cold, please let us know to fix it for you. Also, we use solar energy to warm our water. When there is not much sunshine for many hours we need to use a boiler for hot water. Please let us know one hour before you need to bathe and we will gladly prepare it for you (applies from October to April). 6) If we are available we can take you to the city center or harbour for an extra 15 euros.         The townhouse is situated in the idyllic village of Mandria situated within easy reach of secluded Cypriot beaches. The property is 5 minutes away from two of the international golf courses in Cyprus and 15 minutes from the historic harbour town of Paphos with its many archaeological sites, superb shops and many water and other sports. The house is a two bedroomed town house which sleeps 6 and has been furnished to a very high standard throughout. The ground floor consists of a large open plan living room and dining area, kitchen and downstairs cloakroom together with marble stairs leading to the first floor.The large patio doors lead out onto the patio and garden. ENTRANCE HALL The shaded, porched front door opens into a spacious entrance hall with mosaic tiled washroom with mirror and WC. This leads to a large, open plan living and dining area which occupies most of the ground floor (6.5m x 7m). KITCHEN To the left, the well fitted Italian kitchen (3.5m x 4m) with its granite worktops has all the stainless steel, modern appliances including: dishwasher, electric cooker/hob and grill, microwave, extra large family sized fridge (plenty of space for keeping drinks cool!) washing machine, toasted sandwich maker, kettle and toaster and may other utensils and crockery for at least 12 people. Conveniently, a door leads from the kitchen to the off-street parking - very useful for the shopping! LIVING ROOM The spacious, airy living room which overlooks the pool and patio area is equipped with a 32” LCD TV, Internet TV Box, DVD player. A wide selection of DVDs are also available together with board games and books. FREE, unlimited broadband is available via the wifi router. There is a marble, feature fireplace for those cosy intimate evenings and for those who like the warmth, the air-conditioning also doubles as central heating. There is comfortable seating for all in the lounge area, with 2 x 3-seater sofas, an armchair and large coffee table together with a dining table and chairs for six. POOL AND GARDEN The double patio doors lead out onto the large, paved poolside area housing a large patio table and parasol, with chairs for 8, under the pergola with traditional Mediterranean climbing flowers. There is a large stone, chimneyed barbeque. There are sun-loungers for 6 and a further 2 parasols. 6, large sunbed towels are also provided. The pool itself is 8m x 4m and features Roman steps for ease of entry and exit and varies in depth from 1 to 2 metres. A perfect and relaxing place to spend the whole day, soaking up the rays of the Cypriot sun. The rest of the garden features traditional well established Mediterranean flowering shrubs to all borders, landscaped with palm trees and flowering herbs. The garden is completely private and secure, with perimeter fencing and gates to both sides of the villa. There are 6 pool side/garden lights and two exterior lights for when entertaining outdoors on an evening. The pool itself has its own light which is on an automatic timer. There is also a “shed” to the side of Villa Miya for the storing of sun lounger cushions and parasols. FIRST FLOOR The large marble staircase leads past the large glass-block wall window to the landing from which the three bedrooms and the bathroom are accessed. MASTER BEDROOM WITH ENSUITE The 3.5m x 4m master bedroom features a super size bed and 2m x 3m walk-through dressing area. The dressing area contains huge amounts of floor-to-ceiling, built-in Italian wardrobes. There are two bedside cabinets with individual lamps and a main light switch above the bed. Double patio doors lead onto the balcony which overlooks the pool and garden, perfect for watching the Mediterranean sunset. A large mounted dress mirror hangs on the opposite wall. The large ensuite shower room has a WC, pedestal washbasin with mirror and full room-width shower cubicle with glass door and is fully tiled with mosaic to the walls. The bedroom has its own air-conditioning unit. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided. TWIN BEDROOMS Both twin bedrooms are 3.4m x 4m and 3.2m x 4m respectively and both face the front of Villa Miya, one having double patio doors leading to a balcony with views to the sea and to the fields. Both feature adult size, single beds (which could be pushed together if you wish!) and each bed has its own bedside cabinet or shelf and lamp. Both bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling Italian wardrobes. Both have wall mounted dress mirrors as well as their own individual air conditioning units. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided. BATHROOM The family sized bathroom features a full sized bath with overhead shower and glass shower screen, wash hand basin with vanity unit and mirror, and a WC. There is an immersion heater switch labeled on the wall outside the bathroom next to the light switches should you need gallons more hot water! GENERAL All bedding is provided. All towels are provided. The villa has floor tiling throughout. All air-con units have timers to prevent them being left on. This is to protect the units from overheating and breaking down. There are also moveable, electric fans available. Maid service is provided once per week. During two week rentals all bedding and towels are changed at the end of the first week. Pool cleaning is actioned twice weekly to ensure perfect bathing conditions. There is a net by the pool pump house should you wish to put this to use (it is surprisingly therapeutic!). There are information booklets in each room which contain more information to ensure a more comfortable stay. AREA AROUND MANDRIA MANDRIA Only 7km from the airport and boasting a beautiful, unspoilt coastline and beaches, Mandria is a peaceful, rural village with several tavernas, shops / convenience stores, a bakery and a bank most of which are centered around the village square. Many of the tavernas have free wifi. There is a petrol station and supermarket just on the outskirts of the village. The gentle pace of life is palpable. It takes 10 minutes to stroll past the fields of fragrant crops to the expansive beaches which are quiet. PAPHOS Paphos is only 14km and has a wide selection of tavernas, restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, and shops to cater for almost all shopping needs and even a Debenhams store. For the more culturally inclined, there is an abundance of historical sites to visit. GOLF Using Villa Miya as your base there are currently three excellent golf courses from which to choose and more under construction. TSADA is the longest established. Situated 15km north-east of Paphos, this par 72 course is 550m about sea level ensuring beautiful views and cool breezes. Course length is 6,060m. Drive seven minutes east from the villa and you will arrive at the par 74 course of SECRET VALLEY, set amongst natural rock formations and trees. Course length is 5,904m. Just next door is the award winning, par 71 course of APHRODITE HILLS. Built on two plateaux separated by a ravine, the course has to be seen to be believed. Course length is 6,229m. The apartment is in the brand new development of Zephyros Village 4 . It's the perfect place for a really relaxing holiday in a typical friendly Cypriot village environment. Paphos town is only 15 km away and attractions such as the Baths of Aphrodite and Tomb of the Kings being only a short drive. For golf lovers there are 3 courses within a 15 minute drive, Secret Valley, Aphrodite Hills and the new Elea making Mandria the ideal base for golfers.                               Holliday apartment in sunny Cyprus. A modern, clean well equipped FIRST FLOOR apartment in the traditional village of Mandria, only five min drive from Paphos airport. The traditional village of Mandria is just a five minute stroll away and offers an abundance of bars, restaurants and even an English "chippy", famous throughout Paphos for its quality and value for money. The local pebble beach is also less then a ten minute walk away and is always vey quiet and a beach bar is open during the summer season. Car hire either in the village or from the airport is very reasonable and driving is on the left as in the UK and all road signs are in English. The main tourist resort of Paphos is a short drive or bus ride away for any one wanting to visit the harbour, the shopping mall or the water park. There is a large supermarket just outside the village with a bakery, butcher, fresh fish and lots of UK brands in stock including alcohol and soft drinks all at very reasonable prices. Cyprus has all year round sunshine and temperatures range form the high 40s in mid summer to the low 20s in the winter sun. MANDRIA, Mandria is a traditional village with an abundance of bars, tavernas and Village shop. The village is no more than a five minute walk from the apartment. The local people are very friendly and all speak English and there is a lively ex-pat community here who are always happy to chat and offer information and advice. Some of the bars offer quiz nights, Bingo and karaoke nights. The local beach is also just a gentle stroll away and offers sun loungers and a beach bar in the main season (see pic). You can even park your car right on the beach. All the area is quite flat and made up of farm land, orange groves, olive trees and market gardens growing flowers for the local markets. Occassionally, especially in holidays, we use this floor, but you will be invited to join the feast with us. You might also need to share the kitchen with our other guests, who rent the second bedroom in the house. Interaction with GuestsWe are a friendly Cypriot family who love to welcome people to our beautiful island. We rent two rooms at this house and we love to hang out with you, when time allows. To help your experience in Mandria, we offer free rides from and to the airport and if the beach seems far for you to walk (20 to 30 minutes), we would be able to drive you there as well. Most of the time we are available at any time, but there are times, when you will need to be flexible. The NeighborhoodEven though Mandria is considered suburban due to it's recent development, it is still a rural area. Nature walks are wonderful and restorative here and are one of the highlights of staying with us. We highly recommend our lovely beach, where you can swim, sunbath or take long walks across the shore, watching a magnificent sunset. The beach has gravel (not sand) and is mostly non-organized, so you can enjoy a virgin, unlittered natural environment. You can be at the city center in 20 to 30 minutes and the airport in 10 minutes by car. If you prefer to take it easy and explore closer to home, lovely and typical restaurants and coffee shops are just a ten minute walk from your door. If you are looking for nightlife, parties and big shopping centers, Mandria is not for you. Here you come to enjoy the beauty of nature, while having the luxuries of a house in the city. Getting AroundRenting a car would be the most convenient to move outside the village, and there is a bike rental for 5 euros a day to move within the village. We can also give you a ride to the beach and to the airport. If I go to the city I can take you with me. However, bus 601, bus 630, bus 631, and bus 632 all stop to the village. Extra info on bus tables: Bus 601 runs from Karavella station (the main bus station in city center) to the village square (10 minute walk from our house) from 5:45 to 16:00 on weekdays and from 5:45 to 12:30 on Saturdays. Bus 630 runs from Karavella station to Pissouri (a village in Limassol) from 7:40 to 14:30, Monday through Saturday. It stops outside the village at our gas station. It is a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the house. Bus 631 runs from the harbour (the main touristic attraction downtown) to Kouklia (a nearby village). It stops at the gas station and is more convenient as it runs from 7:25 to 22:30 everyday including Sundays and holidays. Bus 632 runs from Paphos to Archimandrita (a nearby village) from 7:40 to 14:10 on weekdays and 7:40 to 12:30 on Saturdays. Of course once you are here I can show you the website and how to navigate to find your routes. Please confirm timetables before planning your commute with buses, to make sure you can reach home at the time you plan. Safe travels! Other Things to NoteIMPORTANT FOR YOUR COMFORT AND SAFETY 1) I know what it means to travel on a budget, I do it myself. However, I always prioritize my needs and safety comes first. Therefore, I need to kindly ask that you never ask to book a room outside airbnb! This is our family house and we need to feel the safety provided by the verification of ID and the insurance of this platform. 2) Please, do not bargain the price. If you feel that it is expensive for the length of your stay let me know, but once I give you a final price you need to accept it. 3) Please make sure that you read the amenities we provide and the special features (e.g. smoking is allowed indoors, we have dogs- don't request to stay here if you are afraid). Ask me if there is something you don't understand, or need to clarify. 4) We will give you clean linens every 30 days, if you stay long-term. If you need to change linens more frequently, we will charge 5 euros for every extra set. 5) Cyprus is a very warm country. The winter lasts two or three months and it's bearable, the coldest will be about 5 degrees celcius early in the morning or late at nights for a few days every year. Because of that we don't have central heating. We do however have aircondition and space heaters in every room, which you can use. If at any point you feel cold, please let us know to fix it for you. Also, we use solar energy to warm our water. When there is not much sunshine for many hours we need to use a boiler. It is on the third floor, away from the main action, making it a perfect retreat. Huge picture windows overlook the Cypriot landscape. Our house is a perfect, restful home away from home. Even though we rent it for two people, the room is big enough to accomodate families with children and bigger parties. Just shoot a message to see how we can arrange it. You are welcome to use all communal areas of the house. The family uses mostly the first floor. The second floor of the house, including an enormous and fully-equipped kitchen and living room is rarely used, mostly in celebrations. You can use it to cook or hang out. Of course you can always hang out with the family and our dogs. When you are here, please keep things tidy in the common areas, and wash and put away dishes and food. We ask that noise be minimal from 11:00pm to 7:00am to respect those who are sleeping. We are children friendly, but if you do decide to have a family holiday, make sure that you supervise your children at all times. Mandria is a rural area, even though it is considered suburban, due to the development it has had the last years.
