This lodge is roomy and delightful! It is located in Manistique, Michigan which lies along the south shore of Indian Lake. Indian Lake is 8400 acre spring fed lake. This vacation spot is great for swimming, boating, water sports, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, biking and sight seeing. Also, a cozy spot during hunting season. 2 golf courses within 10 minutes of the Lodge. The Kewadin Casino is approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) from the Lodge. If you make reservations, they will pick you up at the cabin and return your group as well. (They prefer a group of at least 4.) Feel free to bring your own boat. While the dock does not function as a marina, it is a great tool for our guests to enjoy having their boat with them as they fish and explore Indian Lake. Easy access to launching your boat is best at the state park nearby (1/2 mile from the Lodge). This Lodge has 3 (or 2, if you convert it into a bunk room) bedrooms. Also has a screened in porch. This lodge provides a kitchen with dishes, cooking utensils, toaster, coffee pot, fridge, microwave and a brand-new electric stove.. There are 1 and 1/2 bathrooms in the Lodge. the 1st bathroom includes a complete tub/shower, sink, toilet, and hot water heater. We have Artesian well water. We also provide bed linens. My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Accessibility: In 2013, we have added a brand new ramp/deck which allows for wheelchair accessibility. The entryway door is 32". Right from your van door to the cottage, the cottage is accessible. Plus, both toilets are ADA height toilets. Plus, we have a safety grab bar, mounted on the end wall, to assist in getting in and out of the bathtub/shower. Beach: The small, simple sandy beach is about 100 feet diagonal from the Lodge door & porch area. Bed layout: Bedroom 1 (front): 2 twin beds Bedroom 2 (middle): full + twin bunks (heavy duty) DIVIDER BETWEEN BEDROOMS (This convenient divider can be moved back and forth as you wish during your stay. Please keep in mind that this divider is thin. It does not provide auditory privacy. It is ideal for the privacy desired for changing clothes.) All Lazy-Boy furniture in the living room. Boats: Please bring your own mooring rope and extension chords for charging your electric motor. Please let us know if you intend to bring your boat and the length of your boat. We always do our best to assist you in setting up the proper mooring poles (with your own rope.) Still, we do advise you to pull your boat nightly, as the winds can be sudden & high. Dock: There is no longer a community dock! Sorry. Firewood: We do not guaratee there will be firewood available during your stay. He's just down the road and generally can deliver a face chord of wood for approximately $60 - delivered. Fish cleaning hut: We have a communal fish cleaning hut that is used by 12 cabins within the Mountain Ash Association. Still, if you are fishing for & henceforth cleaning your salmon, we do need you to clean your salmon at the Harbor Boat ramp fish cleaning station where they have a large grinder for the leftover fish parts. (Open May-end of September) Grill: Yes,we have both a basic, charcoal grill for your sole use at the Lodge(please bring your own charcoal) + a large community charcoal grill that all of the cabins are free to use as they please. Guns: We can not allow target shooting anywhere near the Indian Lake Cottages (Mountain Ash Association.) There are neighbors closeby. Plus, there are local 2 gun ranges in the area that are accessible. Handicap Accessible: 32 inch wide entryway. Two ADA toilets installed in 2013. Horseshoe Pits: Basic horseshoe pits (with new horseshoes) available right next to the Lodge. Internet: Free wi-fi access. The speed seems to vary. At times, it seems to be hi-speed, at other times it appears to lag. It all depends on usage. Kitchen Accessories: 1.Blender: Yes, a basic blender is present 2.Coffee maker: Yes, we have a basic coffee maker. At times, we have coffee filters and coffee, yet I would advise you to please bring your own. 3.Cooktop stove/oven: Yes. (Sorry, we don't have an icemaker at this time.) 4.Crockpot: Yes, a basic crockpot is present. Pets: I'm sorry, yet due to safety concerns, we will no longer be able to welcome pets to the Mountain Ash Association. The only way to have a pet with the Mountain Ash Association is to purchase a cottage. Owners are allowed to have pets, yet guests are not. My apologies for this inconsistency, yet it is a part of the association by-laws. Play area: There is a small children's play area with a swing-set and plenty of room for outdoor children's games across from the community grilling area. Radio: Yes, there is a basic radio with a CD player at the Lodge. Towels: Please bring your own towels. While fresh, clean linens are ready on the beds for your arrival, towels are not provided at the Indian Lake Lodge and cabins. TV/standard DVD player: There is a 27" TV with cable and a standard DVD (not Blu-Ray) player for your use in the living room at the Lodge. Plus, there is an additional TV with cable in each of the bedrooms. There may be a couple movies at the Lodge, yet I would advise you to bring your own movies. Swimming: The sandy swimming beach area is about 50 feet diagonal from the cabin, with a convenient pavillion and community grilling area. View: The Indian Lake Lodge is about 50 feet from Indian Lake. You can easily see Indian Lake between and around Cabins #5 & #6. Water (well): Our water has passed all the county water tests. You are welcome to use the water as you would at home. Washer & Dryer: Yes, there is a washer and dryer for your sole use during your stay.
