    The SpaceCornwallis - 45 minutes from Auckland City, is a peninsular 2 km long, situated on New Zealand's second largest harbour, the Manukau. Surrounded by the lush bush of the Waitakere Ranges, and the waters of the Manukau Harbour, there are some spectacular bush and coastal walks, and of course great swimming in the summer. Set on an acre of land opposite Cornwallis Beach, in the Waitakere Ranges, this is a place where you can get back to nature - sit around the outdoor fire and roast some marshmelows or have a bush bath the old fashioned way! Fish from Cornwallis wharf, take the kayak out for a paddle, or bike to the Huia Cafe for a latte. A great place to unwind. We are a family of three going to work and school so we are not always home during the day, but we want you to feel relaxed and very welcome in our home. Cornwallis is a lovely community - but you probably won't see anyone unless you go walking on the beach! Titirangi and Huia are our local meeting places. Huia has a funky cafe where you can meet the locals, and Titirangi - 15 mins away has 8 lovely cafes, an art gallery, supermarket and library. Titirangi is the closest shopping area to Cornwallis so we recommend you purchase any dinner or food supplies before coming to Cornwallis. You will need your own car when you start exploring the area. No public transport available. Guest AccessWith your own private entrance, it is easy access to the downstairs area of our house, where you will have two rooms for your use, plus private toilet and bathroom facilities. The rooms are small and cosy, the bedroom with a queen size bed, and the sitting room with tea and coffee facilities, and a 2.5 seater couch which can be used as a bed if required. The foyer has a table and chairs if you prefer a private space to eat, or come upstairs where we will serve you breakfast with views overlooking the water. Breakfast is homemade muslei, with organic local fruits when in season, yoghurt, toast and spreads, tea & coffee. Interaction with GuestsWe are very happy to spend some time with you, helping you with any itinerary ideas, and explaining the local area to you, and just as happy to let you do your own thing, and give you the space you require. The NeighborhoodCornwallis is rare, in that we are semi-rural, and so we enjoy the peace and quiet of being surrounded by nature, yet we are only a 45 minute drive from a large city. So it's great for a weekend getaway for the locals, or if you just want time-out while you are still working, and commuting into Aucklalnd. It's a place to have rest and unwind. Getting AroundSorry no public transport available. Other Things to NoteAs we are a fifteen minute drive from the local eatery's, we have found that guests are often not interested in driving back into our local Titirangi area for an evening meal. If this is the case for you, please let us know, and when we can, we will provide a wholesome homemade meal for you!

    The SpaceOur house is spacious and quiet. Everybody can find a place to get away when they need. We're also across the road from a gorgeous beach and can leave you out a paddle board and kayak if you request. Interaction with GuestsWe are available via mobile. Pet(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and Rachel (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The NeighborhoodCornwallis Beach is 15 minutes from Titirangi Village, a lovely village with cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and library. Larger supermarkets and a mall are a further 5 minutes from Titirangi, in New Lynn. Closer to home, the wonderful Huia Store is just 5 minutes away, by Huia Beach. The store has coffee and great meals, plus basic essentials if you need them quick. There is also a playground and skate ramp in Huia. Getting AroundWe're 8 minutes drive away from Laingholm, which has the closest public bus to the nearest train station in New Lynn. From here you can get to anywhere in town. Other Things to NoteAs we're in a national park, we have a water tank for our water, so you'll need to be reasonably water-conscious while you're here over December/January/February as that is a drought period for us. Quick showers and only running the dishwasher and washing machine when they're full is the best way to prevent running out of water.

      Located in Foster Bay Huia (15mins from Titirangi), this is one of the most picturesque spots this side of heaven, but don?t take our word for it, come stay and find out. Make no mistake, Huia has its own special power and it will work its magic on you. Have a read of our fabulous feedback from past guests to get a feel of the place... You can lay in bed and watch the sea 20metres away! At night drift off to sleep literally listening to waves. There is also room for a tent(s) to be pitched if you want someone to have the total get-away-experience, or somewhere for visitors to stay... There is a modern kitchen with all cooking necessities. And there is a generous bathroom too. The lounge looks out to sea so you can watch the kids play or watch the action on the distant Manukau bar. Large sunny deck faces the sea and is set up for relaxation. The beach reserve is all that is between the deck and the sea. An iconic pohutukawha tree rests in front on the bach. The beach is safe and suitable for the youngest kids. Boats can be launched from beach. All tide ramp nearby. There?s plenty of things to do here right on the doorstep of the Waitakere Heritage Park. We think the views are stunning, framed by the volcanic Waitakere Ranges on one side and the soft majesty of South Head on the other. There is no place like this anywhere this close to The City. Even Disney came to Huia in 2007 and filmed a surf movie there as they thought it resembled Hawaii. How cools that! Our bach has everything you need for a relaxing get-away. Relax by the sea on the deck or take a hike on one of the many walks in the native bush. The famous Hillary Trail (after Sir Edmund Hillary) goes through Huia, so if you are walking it stay at our place for a day or two and soak up the experience. Our electricity is mostly provided by the sun however we also connect to the electricity grid for security of supply. Special conditions: Foster Bay andamp; the Huia environs are a special place and people generally live and stay there for its peaceful location and environment. Please respect the peace and quiet (but have fun!). The neighbours are good friends of ours and we aim to keep them that way. Their feedback will take precedence over any dispute. Have fun and enjoy yourself - we do. Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$50.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
