    I live in a leafy suburb of Cairns very close to the city with mountain views and only minutes drive from the Cairns amazing Esplanade! You would have your own comfortable stylish accommodation and share with myself and perhaps only one other. I am very friendly, sociable, peaceful, fitness lover, dance lover, outdoor lover and I speak a few languages and have traveled extensively. Your accommodation is a beautiful and tastefully furnished brand new granny flat with own separate entrance, own double bed bedroom with built in wardrobe with beautiful views of the backyard and rear mountains plus air conditioner and fans, own bathroom, own small living area with desk/study area, own fridge with shared new kitchen facility onto a Balinese style patio of about 80 smq overlooking a beautiful huge backyard and mountain views. Only 5 min drive (5km) from Cairns CBD, 2 min from Edge Hill, 2 min from TAFE and 10 min from the university of JCU and the beaches. Very convenient location with two different buses stops just around the corner that both run every hour at a different time and to different locations. Nearby shopping centres, food courts, gyms, pharmacies, medical facilities etc... A great comfortable place with your own privacy.

    We live just ten minutes from the city centre of Cairns, in a very nice Queenslander style home, very spacious with a large bathroom with bath & shower as well as 2 kitchens and a wrap around veranda where you can play pool, do yoga, get a massage , or sit and read one of the meany novels.

    We've had students and WWOOFers at our home for 10 years now. Come visit us in the heart of beautiful Cairns in Far North Queensland. We are minutes from the bus in the inner suburbs of Cairns, surrounded by palm trees and the gorgeous tropics. Spend your weekends snorkeling the reef, sky diving or ballooning on the tablelands. Or join us for a swim at Ross & Lock where the locals go for a dip. My son and I live 5 minutes from public transport to local language schools and the bus to James Cook University and walking distance to the TAFE college. I'm a student at James Cook Unit and my son Sam who is 17 is in his last year at high school. I love to cook up a storm can make a great Pavlova or a beaut barbie. I am happy to help you book tours out onto the beautiful barrier reef, to the Daintree or to many of the wonderful locations in the tropics. We often go for drives to local water holes and the beach and would love to show you around our tropical paradise home. With free wifi and so many adventures close to hand you cant go wrong!

    Beautiful French style cottage, wrap around verandah & saltwater pool. Close to shops, tare, language schools, city. Bus just outside door. Room is large furnished roomy, built in wardrobes and a front sunroom, study/lounge all to yourself when you want to just chill. I have two beautiful dogs here, both girls, one is a rescue dog, Zena, and then there is my Zulu. Zulu is an old girl who hops on three legs mostly, and Zena is a little ill, so they are both pretty chilled out dogs who just like to laze in the sun or come up and make friends with you. I love music and i sing (mostly alternative or rock) so if you play any instruments or sing lets have a jam! Im also a little creative, paint, crafts, like doing things so if you feel like being arty i am all for encouraging you. You can be yourself here, its a bohemian friendly little place, full of Love and I look forward to welcoming you in our happy home while here :)

      Why settle for an apartment when you can rent your own spacious and comfortable family home close to the City Centre? Wilks House is a timber Queenslander home of great character with 4 bedrooms (2 Queen beds, and 2 sets of Twin Single beds) 2 modern bathrooms with showers and a bath, a large family room and children's rumpus room, and a very well equipped kitchen for those who like to cook. With high ceilings and polished timber floors, this house was built for our tropical climate . There is a lovely big back garden for children to play in which is fully fenced and private.Pet friendly for dogs, but not inside the house please. The street is a quiet cul de sac and if you walk to the end, you can see wallabies (small kangaroos) grazing in the paddock in the evening. This home is fully air conditioned for our hot summer months and a solar hot water system provides you with masses of energy efficient hot water. Foxtel TV (satellite) and wireless Broadband internet connection are provided. Wilks House is a 10 minute walk to Earlville shopping centre, a cinema complex and several restaurants. The city centre and the Esplanade's spectacular Lagoon is a 5 minute drive. This is a huge saltwater pool with life guards on duty and a shallow section for small children. Free exercises classes, water aerobics, and yoga are provided by the council at the Esplanade during the week. Birdwatching is a popular pastime along the boardwalk. The Cairns Botanical Gardens should not be missed for a fantastic display of tropical plants. There are many local attractions to keep you occupied during your stay in Cairns such as a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, visits to the Northern Beaches and Port Douglas, exploring the Daintree Rainforest, and drives around the beautiful Atherton Tablelands. We will meet you on arrival at the house to welcome you, show you around and hand over keys. This house has an electricity allowance of $50 per week which is metered. Any use over this amount is paid for by the guests at the supply rate from Ergon Energy. (gas cook top and solar hot water minimize electricity use. Heavy use of aircon will exceed the allowance in the hotter summer months) Our terms and conditions of rental may be viewed on our website www.cairnsholidayhomes.com.au They are also sent out to each enquiry to read through before a booking is made. There is a security deposit of $500. Wilks House is located in a quiet no through road, just 5 - 6 minutes by car from the city centre with views to the wooded hills from the front porch.. It is within walking distance of Stockland Shopping centre at Earlville, which has 2 major grocery stores and many specialty shops. This shopping centre also has a cinema complex. Restaurants, a doctors/dentist surgery, chemist and liquor store are all close by. Public bus transport is frequent along Mulgrave Road, if you do not have a hire car. The Esplanade Lagoon swimming pool and children's water park/playground are also easy to get to and a very popular place for locals and tourists to Cairns. Trips to the Great Barrier Reef leave from the reef fleet terminal in town. Skyrail gives you a birds eye view of Cairns as you skim across the top of the rainforest in small cable cars and you have the option of returning by the Kuranda Train. For those who like to explore the area in their own car, we have a list of 'off the beaten track' favourite places to visit, such as Behana Gorge, Davies Creek and the Mareeba wetlands.

        The SpaceLocated in a heritage area, surrounded by old Queeenslander style timber high set houses but the advantage of being in a brand new,modern apartment, with old style character. Guests enjoy access to a small plunge pool, bicycles are available to ride to the Botanic Gardens or (website hidden) book on wonderful walks in the Cairns area. Guests have a separate entrance and can have total privacy if required or I am living upstairs and can be available to answer any questions, offer advice or just provide some spices and herbs. I live on a tiny side street that runs between two main streets so am close to everything but a bit quieter. There is a baseball park 50m away with a creek behind that has a lovely walking track that can take you almost 6 klm. The city centre is only a short bicycle ride away. There is a bus stop 25m away. I own a Portugese Water Dog who is still a puppy but is pretty quiet, as in not barking all the time but she loves a game. There is a yard for her to run around near the deck. There are plenty of local places to eat a short walk away. A lovely path that follows a creek can take you into the city. At night you can hear the curlews calling and by day possibly see Torres Strait pigeons, rainbow lorikeets and even white cockatoos in the trees.

        The SpaceThis is the fourth bedroom in my lovely wooden Queenslander home; located in the centre of the house, so although it has a window (they're French style doors actually), it opens onto another room in the house. So for your privacy I will cover both sides of the windows. Guest AccessYou will enjoy all the benefits of my awesome home such as a clean and well stocked kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, swimming pool, TV and DVD and unlimited wireless internet access. There is also a bathroom which has a fantastic power shower. If you drive you can park off street next to the house too. Interaction with GuestsI'm naturally a social person but I also respect people's privacy, so it will depend on my guests as to how much interaction we have. The NeighborhoodIt's generally a quiet neighbourhood but only a short distance in to Cairns by bus or bicyle. Everything you sould reasonably need is on the doorstep here. I've only recently moved in to the area and I really like it. 'The Village' consists of 24 homes without perimeter fences so there's a real community here that is unique and quite lovely. Getting AroundOpposite 'The Village' is a shopping centre with 2 major supermarkets and a host of other shops and stalls. From outside you can catch buses just about anywhere, except the airport. Other Things to NoteYou can hire my car for $25 per day if you like. I have 2 permanent housemates whom I get along with very well and any guests need to be mindful of the fact that this their home too. They really enjoy having Airbnb guests though.

        The SpaceQueen bed in a sweet room overlooking a lush tropical garden. House is fully fenced and secure, in a quiet street in Manoora, Cairns. Wifi and all landline calls included. Gorgeous pool with fountain. Bus stop around the corner, we are 15 minutes from town, and 7 minutes from the airport. Quickest and easiest way to get here from the airport is by taxi - around $20 - and I can often pick guests up from the airport or station, depending on my work schedule. Share with a performer / artist and her child, a quirky 13 year old, and a cute collie cross called Maxi (sleeps outdoors!). We are queer friendly, kid friendly, just about every kind of friendly :} Expect lots of artworks, musical instruments, movie nights and an occasional rehearsal! I keep my home clean and my garden fruitful - herbs, vegies and fruit trees out front, tropical forest plants out back. We are breeding the endangered Cairns Birdwing Butterfly in our back yard! While you are here, you are one of the family. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and if you would like to share other meals with us you are welcome - I just ask that you contribute something to the kitchen in return :} If you prefer to eat out or to cook for yourself that is also perfectly fine. I walk the dog at the creek or the beach every day, and we quite often do day trips to beautiful local forests, markets and festivals. Guests are welcome to join us on our outings. We are both involved in the arts, and you are also welcome to join us at theater, music and visual arts events. Be as social, or as reclusive, as you feel - this is your home for the time being. Getting AroundReef trips all depart from the Marina, which is in town - a 20 minute bus ride or a 10 minute cab fare (around $20 by cab). Depending on my work and home schedule, I'm happy to offer lifts into town and/or to the Marina. There are 2 bus routes within 5 minute's walk from our front door. Both will take you to town, local shopping centres, and the Botanical Gardens and Arts Centres. Other Things to NoteWe have a very friendly dog called Maxi - Maxi will cry if you don't say hello to him! The garden is full of flowers, butterflies and beautiful birds. We grow our own herbs and spices.

        We live about 10 minute drive to City Centre, we live in an exclusive suburb, we have a beautiful swimming pool, air conditioned bedroom with own bathroom and toilet, I love cooking so there is always plenty of food, I can make meals to suit requirements. We are, close to the Bus stop 300 metre walk. I am able to drive any student to and from their destination, very modern, resort style modern apartment, only 5 years old, with luxury pool and barbecue area that is a very large area for recreation, and relaxation. Resort style living. Plenty of area to do clothes washing and hanging for students clothing. My son and I like swimming, walking, food, movies, music, sight seeing, beach and games. Also, we have internet available but usage is limited only 200GB per month of downloads, because it is very expensive in Australia. Meals are available, included. A bike is available for use. My age 42, and my son is 5 years old. We do not have any PETS.

All bedrooms have windows, fans and air conditioning. The main house features a desk area in the entrance foyer and two outdoor porches overlooking the gardens. There is a large laundry with dressing area, hanging rail and washing machine & dryer and separate toilet & bathroom with hand held shower and safety grab rails. The attached unit is wheelchair friendly and has wheelchair accessible toilet and bathroom facilities with hand held shower and safety grab rails.         The SpaceCairns is a beautiful town in Far North Queensland and home to the Great Barrier Reef. Great diving, snorkeling, fishing. But wait, there's more! We are also home to the Atherton Tableland which has great drives, bushwalking, sightseeing, tropical rain forests. The room is in a traditional Queenslander home only 5 minutes to the city center and walking distance to major shopping. Transport is easily accessible at the end of our street. We are a happy healthy quiet couple who love travelling so know how nice it is to have a home away from home. Guest AccessThe room is down stairs in our home, fully self contained with a new kitchen. We have you in a room with a queen size bed. There is a shared laundry. We also have great side access to our large back yard. So if you have a camper or caravan, there is room off street to park. Interaction with GuestsBecause of the layout, guests can have as much space as they want to have their own privacy, but we are always available to talk about our city and region. Complete with all modern fixtures including TV, microwave, electric stove. Our home is situated at the end of a quiet close. The unit is located downstairs so you can come and go as you please. At the moment the unit is perfect for a couple as there is only the queen sized bed, however if there is an extra guest/s and you don't mind sharing the space, we have an extra mattress and bedding available. The space is fully airconditioned. There is a large kitchen with Mango wood benchtops, all utensils, crockery and appliances including electric stove, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. The living area has a new lounge, large television and there is free wifi access. Outside there is a small patio with table and chairs. There is also a combined bathroom and laundry within the unit! We can interact with you as much as you prefer. If you like your privacy and to be independent you're free to come and go as you please without us disturbing you or vice versa. On the other hand if you need help or advice with finding your way around Cairns and North Queensland, I am happy to help in as many ways as possible whenever I can. We don't mind picking you up and dropping you back to the airport if time permits as it's only 5 minutes drive from our house. I have a wealth of knowledge about the local area and can recommend the best restaurants and many local attractions including some less known special attractions that one comes to know about growing up in this beautiful area. For a short or long stay in Cairns I think it is best to have a car and there are a great number of car hire offices for any budget. By car we are about 7 minutes drive from the city centre. There is parking on the street right outside our house. Alternatively there is a bus stop just five minutes walk away with buses leaving to the centre of town every 30 minutes until 9:30pm and returning until 11pm. From there, you can take other buses to the northern beaches or get straight on a boat to the Great Barrier Reef. Many tour companies will also pick you up from your doorstep.         The SpaceCairns city can be quite noisy with drunken revellers passing by on their way home and such like (I lived in the city for 5 years). This house though is 4kms away from the city and is also set well away from the street. It is beautifully quiet night and day. Guest AccessEnjoy our large communal swimming pool and tropical gardens in 'The Village'. 5 minutes walk to a main shopping centre with access to buses in to Cairns and surrounding areas. Interaction with GuestsI'm naturally a social person but I also respect people's privacy so it will depend on my guests as to how much interaction we have. The NeighborhoodIt's generally a quiet neighbourhood but only a short distance in to Cairns by bus or bicyle. Everything you sould reasonably need is on the doorstep here. I've only recently moved in to the area and I really like. 'The Village' consists of 24 homes without perimeter fences so there's a real community here that is unique and quite lovely. Getting AroundOpposite 'The Village' is a shopping centre with 2 major supermarkets and a host of other shops and stalls. From outside you can catch buses all over Cairns. Other Things to NoteI have a permenant housemate whom I get along with very well and any guests need to be mindful of the fact that this is her home too.

There is a large covered outdoor entertainment area which features an open air, fully equipped kitchen with gas hotplates, electric oven, BBQ, fridge and a variety of appliances. Dining tables & chairs, plenty of comfortable seating and ceiling fans create a casual ambiance overlooking the pool, gardens and mountains beyond. This contemporary family home is fully self contained. The main house (sleeps 8) has fans, air conditioners, security screens, a large laundry with dressing area, hanging rail and washing machine & dryer, a desk area in the foyer, separate toilet, bathroom and and is ceramic tiled throughout. Two outdoor patio areas at the front of the house overlook the gardens. The additional unit which sleeps 7 more guests in existing bedding is separated from the main house by an undercover entertainment area and has been designed with handicapped bathroom facilities and is wheelchair friendly. It is close to town, shops, Edge Hill dining precinct, the Botanical Gardens, Tanks Arts Centre and Centenary Lakes. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop 5 minutes walk from my home and it is a 15 minute journey into town on the Sunbus 123. Ask the bus driver to let you off after the English St stop but before Pease st roundabout. If you have your own car it is about a 10 minute drive to town and to the airport.
