The SpaceGet the whole crew together. Our space is perfect for family holidays, work gatherings, meditation retreats and ski vacations. The town of Marble boasts ready access to some of the best ski terrain in the state, both back-country and cross-country, moderate to advanced ("Why no ski lifts then?" you may ask. Just lucky developers never got a hold of it!). Skiers here gotta "earn their turns," and thus the crowds are scant. Strike out on touring skis or snowshoes in any direction and be treated to pristine winter splendor. Don't forget the ice skates... Beaver Lake can host some rousing pick-up hockey. Guest AccessGuests can lounge in the Great Room before a hearth while meals are prepared in the ample kitchen, or sit at the bar. We offer a rich library for your perusal. Five individual suites (each include kitchenettes + full baths) can be adjoined or remain separate. Interaction with GuestsWe are as available as our guests require. The NeighborhoodIf Marble is quiet in the summer then it's practically silent all winter. And that's what makes it so great! Load up on gas and groceries before leaving Carbondale or Paonia, make your final cell phone calls... none of these things are available for 30 miles. There is wifi and a telephone in the main room with free US, long distance. Getting AroundSuggested forms of locomotion in the winter include: skis (most typical), snowmobiles (nice if you got 'em), boots with good traction, snowshoes, and vehicles with 4wd or chains. The roads are well plowed all winter for easy access into and around Marble.

The SpaceOur rooms and cabins were home to quarry workers a century ago. Now renovated, we rent the rooms, starting at $95 per night and the Cabins, starting at $125 per night. Each of our lodge rooms and cabins offer distinct features: some large and others small, lofts or no stairs, rooms that adjoin or don't, kitchens or kitchenettes. Check out our website or give us a call to explore the proper space for you. Guest AccessFire pits, bbq grills, phone, internet, library and canoe. Interaction with GuestsOur guests are welcome to visit the office and socialize as much or as little as they please. At times there can be rousing coffee talk on the deck, other times there's nobody around except the marmots and magpies. The NeighborhoodMarble is remote. Of course that's why we love it, and how we explain its scenic beauty! It would not be so special if there were stores, gas pumps, cell reception, etc.... Yup: no cell phones ringing, just birds singing. Prepare before you get here, and plan on being absorbed by the natural rhythm of the valley. Getting AroundBicycles and leisurely strolls encouraged as the most reliable means of public transportation. Other Things to NoteHere, porch-sitting and cloud-watching are among the heralded arts.

The SpaceArchitecturally significant, off-grid mountain home. This newly built home was created by the passion of its owner who looked for 7 years to find the perfect place in Colorado to make home. This grid independent home was crafted from superior materials. A true gem in the stunning marble valley. Designed be acclaimed Boulder architect, Ethan Hampton, this home was designed for this spot. (URL HIDDEN) Interaction with GuestsI won't be there. There is local support, but they are not standing by. Feel free to call me at any time for assistance. The NeighborhoodThe entire community in which this cabin is a part of is off-grid. We love it that way. There is an old ski area, 'Ski Marble', just up the road. The lifts even still operate a few times a year. In a pinch any of these locals will help you. They may be colorful, but they are all great people! Getting AroundYou can drive to the cabin year round in a non-4x4 vehicle. I drive a VW beetle with snow tires and have never been denied access. If you have a 4x4 explore up the valley further to the high country. Crystal (road is brutally bumpy, but fun for some). The other option, to the left, is great and gets you up high really fast. There are great maps in the bookshelf. Other Things to NoteLots to do in the area. Visit Redstone Inn for Brunch, go to the Redstone general store for coffee and candy. Penny hot springs - (URL HIDDEN) Visit the Marble galleries, rent a 4 wheeler, eat and drink at the Slow Grovin' BBQ, Hike!!

This is a life-long dream of mine to build a cabin in one of the prettiest places in Colorado! Marble is a very historic town located 60 miles from Aspen in the Crystal River Valley. It is a beautiful 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Aspen to the cabin in the summer but you will need a 4WD vehicle and it's good to have chains in the winter. It is a place that offers backcountry skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, etc. and the best panoramic mountain views Colorado has to offer! I own a fly fishing guide service in Aspen and have brought many of my clients to my cabin over the years. Most people really enjoy the quiet nature of of the valley and how relaxing it is to spend time in the mountains. There is a hiking trail, Carbonate Creek trail at the bottom of the driveway that takes you up a beautiful valley full of wildflowers and fabulous views. If you have a 4WD vehichle you can go up Lead King Basin and take the Geneva Lake trail to a beautiful lake. I have two canoes at Beaver Lake which is 2.5 miles from the cabin and it offers some great fishing. There is a nice restaurant in Marble called the Slow Groovin Cafe which is open in the summer. You can also visit the artsy, historic town of Redstone which has some nice art galleries and a few restaurants. Carbondale is a 30 mile drive from the cabin and offers some fine dining and shopping. I suggest shopping for food at Whole Foods which is 10 minutes from Carbondale in El Jebel. There is not a bad season to visit although the winter adds another component which requires a 4WD vehicle and a person who knows how to use a wood burning stove as it is the only source of heat for the cabin. My wife owns Bonnie's Restaurant and is a private chef. We often take our fishing/ horse back riding guests to the cabin and she will prepare meals for the outing. My permit in the White River National Forest allows me to take clients to some high lakes where we do overnight camping trips. My favorite is Geneva Lake which is a one hour four-wheel drive ride from the cabin along with a hour hike to the lake. It is fabulous in the summer for people who enjoy hiking for the scenery and looking for wildlife and the flowers are incredible! Keywords: Located 60 miles from Aspen in the Crystal River Valley. Furnished by Barbara Walters' former Aspen home furnishings. 280 degree fabulous mountain views with skiing, hiking , fishing, cycling, mountain biking, hunting and climbing. Antique claw foot tub and shower, gas stove, fridge/freezer, pool/ ping pong table, wood burning stove upstairs and pellet stove downstairs.

This beautiful, historical home, built in 1894 by H. H. Williams, is one of the oldest remaining homes in Marble. The Victorian charm of this lovingly restored 19th-century home, situated within the heart of the Crystal River Valley and the White River National Forest, will steal your heart with it's unique character and design, traditional decor and gorgeous mountain setting! In 1941, Mother Nature took it's toll sending a mud slide through town, destroying the Williams House. The house lay abandoned until 1975 when John M. Williams, the great grandson of H.H. Williams, and his wife Ann, completed it's restoration in 1981. Now fully and beautifully restored, the Williams House has won architectural awards for its design and has been featured in House Beautiful's 1982 edition of Home Remodeling for the excellence of the project. Situated on four acres, this three-story Victorian style home features 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with a separate dining area that seats 6. The kitchen, with its oversized windows, is great for huddling around the table for family game night or watching the sunrise while sipping your morning coffee. In warmer months, enjoy relaxing or dining on the spacious deck while listening to the rushing waters of the Carbonate Creek below. The living room is comfortably furnished and has a wood burning stove, ideal for spending evenings near a crackling fire after an adventurous day of exploring the quaint town of Marble and the beautiful Crystal River Valley. The second level has two nicely appointed bedrooms; the master with a king bed and a guest bedroom with a full day bed. The stairwell leading to the upper floor opens up to the third bedroom, situated under a dormer, with an en suite full bathroom. This inviting space is unique with a cozy reading nook and access to the scenic rooftop balcony. Nearby areas to explore include: • Original marble quarry- 3.9 mi. • The Crystal Mill (built in 1892)- 5 mi. • Lizard Lake for great fishing- 2 mi. • The Gold Medal waters of the Crystal River for fly fishing-5 mi. • Historic mining town of Redstone- 13 mi. • Carbondale-27 mi. • Aspen- 53 mi. • Glenwood Springs' infamous Hot Springs Pool- 40 mi. The Williams House welcomes total relaxation and serenity whether you are rocking on the front porch, stargazing from the rooftop balcony or savoring the crisp, fresh mountain air while relaxing on the deck! Escape to your "Home Away From Home" in this quaint mountain town and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Crystal River Valley.
