The SpaceThis is actually a little suite in a charming post and beam house in the seaside town of Marblehead. The house is in a secluded spot in the woods yet within ten minutes walk of charming coves and the historic old town. You will have your own small but sweet bedroom with skylight, private full bath, and sitting room with desk and wifi. Great light. The bed is a "Full" platform bed with an Ikea mattress. Marblehead is a historic destination town with good shops, restaurants, harbor, and natural beauty. The SpaceMy WHOLE house (sunny, cosy 2 bed cottage in historic coastal Marblehead) is available to rent when I am away on vacation! Great for family visiting family where you need a few extra beds. Built in 1890, my pretty home is on a quiet road a short walk from Devereux Beach, and old town Marblehead with its restaurants, shops and historic harbor and sights. The house has lots of light, hardwood floors and has 3 floors of living space - and is surrounded by trees so you feel as if you're in a treehouse, overlooking conservation lands and beside a former rail trail which is great for walking and biking. I have a large deck (with a barbeque) where you can sit and have breakfast surrounded by flowers, overlooking a large enclosed garden. My home is only 5 minutes walk to a bus stop where you can catch the bus to Boston and Wonderland T station if you want to visit the city. Marblehead is a lovely historic coastal town on a 4 square mile peninsular 18 miles north of Boston. Surrounded on 3 sides by water, there is much to do in town, plus we're only 4 miles from Salem with its world-class museums and sights. Drive from here to anywhere in New England...Boston (45 minutes), the Cape (2 hours), the White Mountains (2-3 hours), the Berkshires (3 hours). Bed and Breakfast is also available for 1-2 people at other times, weekends only. There is an extra room downstairs with a double bed so the house accommodates up to 6 if needed. There is an additional charge if more than 4 guests (NOTE: 1.5 bathrooms. ) This downstairs room has a French window that leads out on to the deck. No smokers or pets, please. PS - there is no ocean view from the house, sorry. But you can walk to the beach in 10-12 minutes or drive there in two minutes.. Guest AccessWhole house. Exclusive use - although my calendar looks booked, do let me know if you are interested in booking for a weekend or a week as I can sometimes take a vacation in order to accommodate you. Interaction with GuestsIf I'm already away when you arrive, I will leave the key and a friend's phone number for emergencies. The NeighborhoodQuiet, wooded behind the house so very private, close to conservation trail, and 10 minutes walk (2 mins drive) to the beach. Stores, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Bring your own bikes and bike around town or up the trail. Rent kayaks close by and paddle around the harbors! Getting AroundBus at the end of the street goes to Wonderland T station every hour or half hour and also to the Airport (limited schedule for airport.) Salem MBTA station is 10 minutes drive - you can always park there and take the train to Boston only about half an hour. You can also park at Wonderland to take the T to other destinations - takes 40 mins to get to Wonderland in traffic. Drive to New Hampshire in 2 hours, Cape in 2 hours! Other Things to NoteStairs are steep so not great for elderly folks or small children (unless you bring your own stairgates).
