The SpaceYou will have a private room, double bed, tv, cable, wifi, kitchen, living room, shared bathroom. Make yourself at home! Guest AccessYou can access the living room, kitchen, bathroom, yard :) Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I own restaurants in the city center so we are always running from one place to another, but we will definitely be more than happy to hang out with you and show you the city. The NeighborhoodYou will be able to enjoy a wonderful climate; La Esperanza is devoted to trade; cultivation of potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, apples and corn (the department of Intibucá is the largest producer of potatoes in the country). The production of textiles and white clay pottery are other major items of production for the Lenca people. Added on to these crafts are other new alternative sources of income such as wines, fruits in syrup and rural tourism. Getting AroundWe are very close to Transporte Carolina bus terminal, 10-15 minute walk or you could just take a cab which will be really cheap! Other Things to NoteThe chilly city of La Esperanza is one of the last bastions of the Lenca ethnic group; a pre-Hispanic civilization whose power was based in central Honduras. The remnants of this civilization (very much present in their tasty food, beliefs, dress and customs) attract travelers to La Esperanza. The beautiful mountain scenery and cool weather will convince you to stay overnight. BEST TIME TO COME: Any time is good to enjoy La Esperanza. It is worth visiting during the Craft Fair of the Lenca Route, which is held every year in February. This event presents a variety of food and crafts of the region and offers a festive ambience very allusive to the Lenca culture. The Wine and Choro Food Festival is held every year in late June. At this event you can enjoy a variety of fruit wines produced in high altitudes in the traditional way that are served to accompany the extraordinary local cuisine. The choro, a wild mushroom found in the forests, is the star of the festival. The Potato Festival, alluding to the most important agricultural product in the region, takes place in January. The department of Intibucá is the largest producer of potatoes in the whole country and the Patronal fair of La Esperanza and Intibuca takes place in December of each year.
