The SpaceThis house is perfect for a young family. There are toys both inside and out. A crib, changing table and highchair are included, as well as a babyproofed living room and bedrooms (your crafty kid could probably find trouble in the kitchen and bathrooms if unsupervised! ). For those travelling with or without kids, the home is set up with queen beds in two rooms and a king bed in the master. It would be an ideal size for two couples or a family. Two aquarium passes are included. We also can provide recommendations for restaurants, activities, playgrounds, sites, and babysitters. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire home, including laundry. There is a fenced backyard and a small unfenced front yard. The garage is seperate and not available. Parking is available in the driveway and street. Interaction with GuestsAccess to the home will be through lockbox. We will not be on the property during the rental period, but we are available by phone or email in case there is a problem. The NeighborhoodMarina is a quiet town about halfway between Monterey and Salinas. There are some excellent restaurants within a 3-5 minute drive (or short bike ride) as well as chain and ethnic grocery stores. Just across the street from the house there is access to hiking and mountain biking trails. Also, a quick downhill road biking for 2 miles leads to the coastal bike trail, stretching to Pacific Grove. On Sundays Marina has a farmers market. Getting AroundThere is a bus line nearby, but a car is recommended, as you will likely want to explore the whole region. Parking is available in the driveway and street.

The SpaceWelcome to the Monterey Peninsula and our home. We've hosted guests from around the world in our Big Sur home and now in "town". (We even had a Tibetan monk live with us.) Please know that we have 3 dogs, and one is a puppy. Marina is the northern most town on the Monterey Peninsula and provides an easy launching place for your travels. Plus I offer my "favorites list" to help you plan. (And I work in the wine industry - so as you can imagine, I have some great suggestions.) The house is very spacious, beautiful and quiet. And this room is my favorite room in the house - it gets lots of light, has bamboo floors, a very comfortable queen size bed, a large closet and an empty set of drawers. Another bedroom with a single bed may be available for an extra fee if you need more space. Please inquire if interested. The house has 2 1/2 bathrooms. You would have access to a large bathroom that you may have to share with a very neat, friendly and quiet college student if he is around. (And he doesn't spend much time in it when at the house.) The half bathroom downstairs is also available for you. Guest AccessYou're welcomed to use the kitchen (as long as you clean up) and store food in the refrigerator as well. Interaction with GuestsI work a lot and am very active - so although I am available for questions and will provide my cell number - I generally won't have a lot of time to spend with you. Charlie and Lilly come to work with me, so they are not around during weekdays. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and safe. The house is at the end of a cul de sac and there is a large grassy park in the middle. There is parking for residents and their guests around this cul de sac. Getting AroundPublic transit is close by. Although I've never used, the buses are clean, reliable and safe. Other Things to NoteVERY IMPORTANT: We have three very large and very lovable dogs (one is a puppy) - so it's important that you're comfortable with dogs. Charlie is the Labradoodle (some say the tallest they have ever seen), Luna, is an older Australian Shepherd mix and Lilly is our Labradoodle puppy. All are very friendly and relatively lazy - although Lilly has her puppy crazy moments. Luna does bark when people come in the house - but she is very, very lovable. Since Lilly is a puppy - she barks a little bit, we're all learning. As you can see in our reviews, the dogs, especially Charlie, are very popular. We also wake up very early. So there is early morning commotion - although it's not terrible. In general, the house is very quiet. We keep a fan in your guest room and I highly recommend using to muffle any potential sound.

Sure, San Francisco has the Victorian architecture and the cable cars, but Monterey Bay is the purist's California. Henry Miller once said of the area, "This is the California men dreamed of years ago ... The face of the earth as the Creator intended it to look." And so it is. Monterey Bay has inspired artists from John Steinbeck to Ansel Adams. To get a little inspiration in your life, drive just north of the city of Monterey to your resort at Marina Dunes. As you do, roll down the windows and take in the sweet coastal air. You'll hear the sea lions and the roaring surf drifting on the wind. After you check in, check out Cannery Row and the unbelievable Monterey Bay Aquarium. There's plenty to see and do as you sink into the history and beauty of this unique stretch of California coastline.Popular AttractionsCannery RowCannery Row, the waterfront district of Monterey, offers a wealth of entertainment opportunities, including live music and late night comedy.
