With 'surfers corner beach' a favourite surf spot and local hangout with some fantastic restaurants and surfing schools. Popular areas nearby are Kalk Bay, Boyes Drive and St James tidal pool. The area has an abundance of bird life, stunning lakeside views of the mountains and an enjoyable place to swim in the lake and go for sunset boat rides. Host is available for any local guidance and advice. Getting AroundIt's advisable to have your own car (we drive on the left). Although there is trains, taxi services and UBER you'll have more freedom to explore this beautiful city of ours in your own transport. We are ideally located in the middle of Cape Town being equidistant to Cape Town and Cape Point not to mention the wine farm regions. The SpaceThis space sleeps 4 comfortably but also has ample space if a few guests that arrive. It is equipped with Wifi & preloaded movies which you can enjoy on a 40inch TV. It has 2 beautiful couches in the lounge area as well which you can relax on after an eventful day out. Help yourself to some complementary treats which can be enjoyed as is or over the fire. The 2nd bedrooms bunk can be transformed into 2 single on the ground else as a double bed, just send me a request & I'll arrange it. The recreation area in the complex is available for you to make use of. Just take the orange arm Pool bands along, which you will find in the house. Please note, no alcohol aloud in that area. Our freestanding intimate house is located in a quiet suberb filled with children and teens with a strong sense of community, which is what drew us here when we moved so many years ago. I am a spritely 54 who loves gardening and the outdoors. i have a wonderful relationship with my children who visit often. Nurturing by nature i enjoy having them around for company.

    This is the perfect home for a family or a group of friends wanting to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The house comfortably sleeps 8 guests including children. The main bedroom is en suite with a shower and has views onto the water. The second bedroom has two single beds and opens onto a pretty garden. The third bedroom has a queen bed and has great views of the water and ducks swimming past, both these bedrooms share a full bathroom. The large fourth bedroom is also en suite and has double doors opening onto the garden. The house has a large open country kitchen and scullery with a dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a delicious meal to be enjoyed in the French styled dining room. It is a mere metre from the water's edge with views up the water and with fantastic views of the mountain. There are two lounges, a T.V. room, DSTV is connected and the other for chatting reading or enjoying a glass of Cape's best wine or a cup of coffee. In winter there is a gas fireplace. It is situated on the Marina da Gama. This estate has been built on the Zandvlei. All the homes have to conform to a building style and colouring of white which immediately gives a holiday feel. The security is monitored and access is controlled. The house has a long piece of water frontage. Many hours are spent fishing off the decks whether for the bigger carp or mullet or just letting the kids net the tiny fish. Time can be spent swimming, sailing, wind surfing or cruising the waterways on the houses' own pedal boat. The Marina is on the False Bay coast and is close to the popular "surfing" beach of Muizenberg, the quaint village of Kalk Bay , and family beach in Fish Hoek. The water on this side is considerably warmer so great for swimming. Marina has great views of the Muizenberg, Constantiaberg mountains. These reserves offer wonderful hikes and opportunity to enjoy the diverse Cape flora and fauna. It also has its own rich supply of bird life both land and water. Nature lovers will enjoy the estate's private bird sanctuary island this is great for walks or bird watching. There is a rich supply of both land and water birds and these can be viewed from the hide. Some of the wild life that can be seen around the Marina are otters, terrapins, flamingos, fish eagle, pelicans to name a few. The house is very centrally located in Cape Town and only 20 minutes to most attractions.

Our unique home is a rustic wooden cottage situated right next to a large natural body of fresh water and we have full access to it. Our home is surrounded by nature even though we are only 25km from the Cape Town city centre. You will NEED YOUR OWN TRANSPORT to get to the nearby tourist attractions because public transport is a 20 minute walk away. Private taxis will drop and collect you from here. There is a small cafe 700m from the house. Our home is within short driving distance to beaches (closest - 7km drive), Table Mountain ( about 25km), Boulder's Beach,(to see the penguins), Cape Point (about 45km), Cape Town Waterfront for shopping, or local hiking trails. You WILL NEED your own TRANSPORT to get to nearby attractions. We are happy to give you further information about the local tourist attractions. There is a taxi rank and train stations about 7km from our home. Private taxis will come all the way here, although it is recommended to rent a car to give you easy access to beaches/mountain/sights. We are slightly off the tourist trail - perfect for nature lovers! Getting AroundHaving your own transport is essential to give you the freedom to get to all the sights of Cape Town. You can take short walks in nature right here but all the tourist sights are within a 7km - 150km radius from our home. Having a rented car is ideal. There is ample parking outside our home. You can walk to the Rondevlei Nature reserve next to our property. It offersnature walks, birding and if you are lucky you will spot the small family of hippo's! You need a car for seeing more of Cape Town. Everything is nearby - but NOT near enough to walk!

If you enjoy hiking or scuba diving, or just ambling through interesting sea side towns we can point you in the right direction as we are in easy driving distance from any of the attractions Cape Town offers. The NeighborhoodZeekoevlei is one of the best kept secrets of Cape Town, and any visitors here love the peace and tranquillity of living in a nature reserve, but close to the hustle and bustle of city life. Getting AroundA car is essential, as Zeekoevlei is not on any public transport route. Parking is free. We are half an hour from Cape Town International airport, and half an hour from the centre of Cape Town. Other Things to NoteThere are so many different things for a visitor to Cape Town to do. Lakeside shopping center is also about 2 mins away which has a chemist, few resturants (bella pizza, simply asia, thai) a pick n pay with a liquar store and a video store. Westlake Centre, 5 mins away has Ocean Basket, Panjab (Indian Curry) and Pizza Getting AroundLakeside train station is a 5 to 10 minute walk away which is close to Muizenberg beach. Next door neighbour offers a taxi service, which is a convenience if you want to get a lift from the airport, get around or get a lift home from a party. Easy access to use uber Other Things to NoteWe have a ginger cat (Jay Jay) and a Rhodesian ridgeback (recently adopted) a very loving Jack Russell dog (Cassie). Cassie was a rescue dog my eldest son rescued from the street and she is our baby and just loves being with people. Depending on the type of house guests or length of stay of the guests we will have to decide wether JJ stays at the house whilst being rented out or whether we kennel him. Should JJ stay at the house he has a self feeder, so he will not impact your time. My husband may need to have access to our garage and storage space during the day as he requires various tools to operate with. We are open to discuss guests bringing family dog. However dog does need to be cat friendly

    The SpaceThe house is a metre from the water - wild birds are the only noise, and the house is relaxed, open plan, airy and super kid-friendly. Owned by a well known wildlife photographer it is an artistic space.There are three bedrooms downstairs and one big upstairs room that can sleep 3 and is great for teens who want independence. Its perfect for outdoor living and entertaining around the pool. Kids will love the trampoline, jacuzzi and canoes. It is in a quiet safe caul de sac. The NeighborhoodReminiscent of a Greek village, with its white homes Marina da Gama is built on the eastern banks and the waterways of the quiet Zandvlei Lake - an inland salt water lake, connected to the sea. It is an enclosed residential area close to the popular beaches of False Bay - the beaches of Muizenberg are within walking distance - providing some of the safest bathing in Cape Town. Rather like a mini Venice, it’s not unknown for residents to drop in on one another by boat at the marina development. Getting AroundCape Town’s city centre is about 25 minutes’ drive from Marina da Gama or you can take the train. Other Things to NoteThere are various mountain walks (rated from easy to difficult) to explore, abundant bird-life and wild flowers to view and the quaint little village of Kalk Bay is only a short drive away, with a choice of many restaurants, explore the many antique and book shops or buy fish at the fishing harbour. Visiting the Cape Point Nature Reserve involves a wonderful drive along the peninsula - the wild life and floral kingdom is worth the trip alone, and the beaches there are one of Cape Town’s best kept secrets.

Ten minutes from iconic False Bay beaches such as Muizenberg, St James and Fish Hoek, and 20 minutes from Atlantic beaches of Noordhoek and Kommetjie. Come and explore the Constanta Wine Route on our doorstep, and savour the wide selection of excellent restaurants within 15 minutes. An easy living, comfortable home, perfect for a family. Nestled in a quiet suburb, with a pool and private garden. A fully stocked kitchen leads into a relaxed lounge / tv room and dining area. You have full access to all the amenities the house has to offer. Our home consists of a lounge, full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, stove-top coffee pots, food blender and washing machine ), 2 bathrooms (one with a bath the other a shower), 3 bedrooms, plus a studio. We have a queen (extra length) bed in the main bedroom and 2 single beds in the children's room (one is for an under 5) . One room has been converted into a play room, but an additional bed/mattress can be brought in here or the studio if needed. Your children will be happy spending time in our play room or exploring our garden, climbing on the jungle gym, hiding treasures in the sand pit or cooling off in our plunge pool. For child safety we have a pool fence. A secret path at the bottom of the garden needs to be discovered by all who visit. Outdoor living and mountain views is what we offer, as mom and dad relax on the stoep(verandah) or in the hammock or enjoy a cocktail at the bottom of our garden. Don't be fooled as our winters can have exceptionally beautiful days (sunny, clear and windless) so our outdoor area is often enjoyed all year round. With easy access to the beaches of False Bay and Atlantic Coast, nearby mountain walks, Silvermine Nature Reserve and dam (wonderful for swimming in), Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and the Winelands it takes the stress out of holidaying. A variety of fabulous shopping centres are nearby with the V&A Waterfront only 20 minutes away. Our neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, but being a family home we are security conscious and offer an alarm system with armed response security. If we are in Cape Town, we will happily try and meet our guests beforehand and even collect from airport. We will also co-ordinate a member of the family to be available to you if you need any assistance and notify the neighbours of your arrival. Only a pleasant 5-10 minute walk to shops / coffee shop / hairdresser and an easy walk to Lakeside train station. Our gardener of 7 years, Peter, attends to the garden every Thursday. We would like to continue this service during your stay so that he could water, feed bunny, sweep outside and maintain garden area. If your stay is longer we would organise for him to pop in to water every 2/3 days. Our housekeeper will also be available to visit every second or third day to help with a general clean - if our guests would like this service.
