NorthShore provides lodging to only one party at a time, with your friendly hosts next door. Since NorthShore is barely visible from the host house, guest privacy is assured. We are surrounded by Wildlife and Parks property with over 6,000 acres for public use. Hunting, fishing, water sports, birdwatching, hiking, horseback riding, and bicycling are some of the activities you can enjoy in our area. Come on out and enjoy the quiet country landscape on the deck or around the fire ring in the back acreage. NorthShore GuestHouse is located in Marion County, Kansas and is a great place to experience country life, enjoy a family reunion, or to use as a wildlife lookout point. There are great places to walk right at hand and a nice fishing beach less than a mile down the road. NorthShore is also the perfect place for Girlfriend getaways, Mancations, or Babymoons. The 22-page feature section, titled "The Flint Hills: A Kansas Treasure" captures a glimpse of the majesty of this unique Kansas prairie-land. The Marion Reservoir has plenty of room for water sports and jet skiers. There are plenty of places to go bird watching , bicycling and hiking around the Reservoir as well. If you do decide to bicycle be sure to have fat tires on your bike for traveling gravel & dirt roads. There is nothing as refreshing and rejuvenating as an escape into the quietness of nature. Our area has an abundance of wildlife, including whitetail deer, Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, wild turkey, ring neck pheasant, bobwhite quail, and beaver. The nights are dark enough to see myraids of stars and the milky way. If you enjoy wandering through the wildlife and parks lands we would be glad to direct you to some prime areas on our guided hiking trips.     Nestled in the Kansas Flint Hills on a working cattle ranch, Doyle Creek Bunkhouse is the getaway for relaxation and peacefulness. Enjoy a stroll on the country roads while watching the sunset and the deer grazing in the fields. The Bunkhouse is large enough to accommodate everything from retreats to family reunions. The third Saturday in September is time for the famous Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair and Marion's Art in the Park. The only place in America where the historic Santa Fe Trail and the Chisholm Trail cross and is in Marion County! Be sure not to miss Chingawassa Days every first weekend of June in Marion and Old Settler's Day the last weekend in September. There is also a rich Mennonite heritage in Marion County. Since NorthShore is barely visible from the host house, guest privacy is assured. NorthShore GuestHouse is a 1400 square foot, three bedroom bungalow with a deck overlooking the park lands. The residence had central hear and air, a TV, DVD, and VCR. There is a bright dining room with comfortable seating for six, a fully equipped kitchen, living room, one and one half baths, and a utility room furnished with a washer and dryer. There are queen size beds in two of the bedrooms and two single beds in the third accommodating six people comfortably. The kitchen has a sunny eastern exposure and is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, coffee and tea, glasses, dishware and cooking utensils. In the back yard there is ample space to set up tents. An electric hook up for one RV is available which is rented only in conjunction with the house. An outside dog kennel and shelter is provided. Campfires are allowed in the fire ring located in the backyard. A large charcoal grill and lawn chairs are available for your use.
