Bathroom with shower. BBQs in backyard with outdoor furniture. Guest AccessStudio unit # one parking is on the left of the Inn and #2 parking is on the right of the Inn. There is additional parking along the street in front of the Inn. There is a nice backyard with 2 tables with chairs and umbrellas during the spring, summer and fall, complete with both gas and charcoal grills for a great evening after doing whatever it is you like to do here! Listen to the soothing water sounds of Markleeville Creek while you gaze at millions of stars at night. The SpaceLocated one mile up Hot Springs Road from town on the left. Peaceful, wild and beautiful. Cell phones don't work here. We are rated Frontier! We will really try to answer your inquiry within a day. Small, rustic but Adorable little cottage right on the creek in Markleeville, Alpine County. Big sunny deck with patio table and chairs. Cozy nook to read or write that book. Full size bedroom with comfy new queen bed. New carpet. Tiny livingroom and equipped kitchenette with small fridge (no freezer) woodstove. gas bbq. Beautiful views of the mountains, forests and creek. Large yard with lovely spots to relax by the water. Quiet and peaceful (there are chicken, rooster, cow and wild animal noises.) Futon in living room. Sorry we no longer allow dogs. 3 miles down the road to Grover Hot Springs State Park, 20m from Tahoe and Kirkwood. This is the California Alps. Leave your house and hike for hundreds of miles in any direction. Fishing, biking (home of the Deathride and Alta Alpina) hiking, bird-watching, paint, write, ski, etc. . Wildlife galore. Please be bear aware. Cell phones do not work here, but there isa landline and free long distance inside the U.S.. Adorable historic town dating from 1800. Total privacy...we will leave you the key on the table, and you can lock up when you leave. Great de-stress getaway. Soak in the Hot Springs. Have a drink in the Cutthroat Bar. Hang out on the porch of the old General Store. Rage in Tahoe. Golf in Tahoe, Minden or the Carson Valley half an hour away. . In winter,please carry chains and a shovel and warm clothes and be prepared for the mountain driving and living...power outs, animals, storms, cabin fever, ice (watch your step!) snow, bears, no tv,wireless internet usually works..we do not promise internet but there is also free wifi downtown . Trees, lakes, streams, lovely air, Grover hot springs State Park down the road 3 miles, friendly chickens, wild animals, Terrific old museum, great library, Cutthroat Bar, General Store, Stonefly Restaurant and Alpine Cafe, Getting Aroundthumb, feet, bike, car, skis, snowshoes Other Things to NoteSo much good hiking nearby. Bring your bike, or skis or snowshoes. Hot Springs. downhill skiing too. Kirkwood 20m away. Heavenly 35m .We have lots of books and movies. Large deck to relax on. Greenhouse to read or write in. Pets must be leashed or otherwise completely under your control. There is a field to walk them in, please be prepared to clean up after them. Smoking is allowed OUTDOORS. Check in time is 3 pm and check out time is Noon. Since the drought here in California is severe, we will only wash linens and/or towels while you are here if you request it. We are happy to do your dishes if you'd rather not, there is a fee for doing so. Please leave the back yard the way you find it. Please be bear aware. We provide guidelines in a brochure in each unit. Keep food inside the Inn and not in your vehicle. We provide a "No Bear Can" trash container for your convenience. If you need something not in the Inn, we probably have it, just ask:) Most important rule: Have a fantastic time while you're here! The Chalet has three bedrooms, 2 baths, and a full kitchen, laundry and a fireplace. It has a spacious rear deck nestled in the pines where you may dine outside nestled in the pine trees that surround the house. As you sit on the deck, you may watch deer and other animals grazing on the forest floor as well as birds playing in the trees around you. Should you wish, you can roll out your sleeping bag and spend the night sleeping under the stars. The Chalet is 2 miles from Grover Hot Springs State Park. This park is open all year and has a wonderful cold pool and hot pool. You may hike the Sierra Crest as it is easily accessible by trail from Grover Hot Springs. Should you wish to enjoy a night out you will are less then an hours drive from South Shore Lake Tahoe.
