The Spacebike, kayak or farm stays right on the water...wayfarers welcome, trespassing encouraged! little hill is our small family homestead, right on marrowstone island's mystery bay -- where we raise organic lamb, clams, oysters, fruits and vegetables. we love to share the place with friends and friends of friends... join us for a weekend in the bunkhouse, our private rustic out-building: with one queen size bed, a double bed pull out couch and two twin futons it can sleep up to six in its one large sleeping cabin. the bunkhouse has its own kitchen that can look out over the bay, and private outdoor shower, that looks out over our orchard pasture. Its all very simple, rustic, and beautiful --and there is a ton to do: great beaches a short walk from our place, biking, kayaking, birds to watch, wonderful historic Port Townsend is 25 mins away and Fort Flagler State Park is five miles away for great views and beaches... We are rustic though. Just the way we like it. The bunkhouse' s gypsy kitchen has a two-burner gas cook top, coffee maker, small oven, fridge and BBQ. Just ask for anything else you need. It has private warm outdoor showers, a composting toilet and heat with a wood stove. Interaction with GuestsWe're innkeepers and have been for 20 years (at la finca caribe on vieques island, Puerto Rico) so we know that some guests want more interaction and others, less, or virtually none. We're good either way. Its about you having a good time. The NeighborhoodRestaurants: the best nearby is the Ajax – down by the water before you get to Pt Hadlock. Local food, fun atmosphere. Reservations are smart in summer. Farm Reach Café in Chimicum is great for lunch and baked goods. The airport cafe is fun for good ol fashion breakfasts. In PT, some of our favorites are: Fountain Cafe Sirens Pub Sweet Laurette Cafe & Bistro Hudson Point Cafe Other Things to NoteWe have a four day minimum.

The SpaceCheck us out for next season. April 2017. This waterfront house sits 75 feet above the sea with a 180° view from Mt.Baker (north) to Mt. Rainer (south) across Admiralty Inlet to Whidbey Island. Port Townsend is an easy 15 mile drive. 3 bedroom 2 bath one level home (built in 1968) with open floor plan and a covered outside deck. Kitchen: frig, oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, bake/cookware and plenty of utensils and glassware. This is a non smoking property. FYI: The master bath tub was painted white by the previous owners. Now it's flaking off and the original bright blue is being revealed. The tub will be replaced as part of the future bathroom remodel. I took out the wall between the kitchen and dining room. There is some finish carpentry to be completed and the stove exhaust fan to be installed. The new carpet and flooring look fabulous. I love the new kitchen space! theFishDoor is a licensed WA business. No TV. No Internet. Just lots of great scenery and space to relax. Guest AccessThe beach access is a short walk or drive to East Beach park 1/4 mile away. The high bank makes this property unsuitable for children 12 years and younger. Discovery Pass is needed for Ft. Flagler and Mystery Bay. It's $10/day or $30/year. Interaction with GuestsThis is a whole house listing with the owner living off site. Anne is available by text during your stay. The NeighborhoodMarrowstone Island is a small rural community only 15 miles south of Port Townsend. Port Hadlock is 6 miles away. This home is a great place to relax and unwind while watching the shipping traffic, herons and bald eagles, or walking the beach. It's also well situated for getting out and about: hiking, kayaking, biking, touring Port Townsend, driving up to Hurricane Ridge or exploring the Olympic National Park. We love the island's Nordland Store- for morning lattes, food and snacks, movies, wine and kayak rentals. Baumbergers Farm Stand on Meade road has veggies and fresh eggs. (seasonally) Check out Marrowstone Winery. (May thru October) Beaches: Ft Flagler, Mystery Bay and East Beach Park Port Hadlock is only a few (6) miles off the island with gas, a QFC, and a few restaurants. Getting AroundA car is needed to get to the island but there are no ferries involved! (Once you're on the Olympic Peninsula). There is a one car attached garage and a carport for another vehicle and more room for bikes and kayaks. Marrowstone Island is 2hrs from Seattle and 4hrs from Portland. We love the drive along HWY101 and the West side of puget sound. Other Things to NoteMaster has queen bed, attached full bath with water view. The Spacehowdy & welcome to little hill, our small family homestead, just off the Olympic Peninsula, on Marrowstone Island, (the island you can drive to) where we share the place with friends, and friends of friends...we say “wayfarers welcome, trespassing encouraged"! The house is completely furnished, and the kitchen fully stocked, with everything you'll need from barbecue for the summer sunset dinners to a large library of '60s classic vinyl, and lots of books. Everything here is about comfort and simplicity. The open kitchen and dining area, as well as the living room and upstairs bedroom look out over Marrowstone Island's small Mstery Bay. There's both a front and back patio, for meals and relaxing outside. We share the place with friends and eco-travelers who appreciate the simple beauty and pace of farm living. There's no TV, so the evening's entertainment usually involves the front porch, listening to the frogs until the sun sets, and the stars come out, sweet and quiet just the way we like it. The eagles and waterfowl here on the bay are abundant, the beaches are some of the best in Puget Sound. Whether you bike the island, hike the Olympics, explore Fort Flager's beaches and trails , or play in Port Townsend, you can come back play bocce on the pasture, swing in a hammock, or just relax! Little Hill is a great place to hang out, read, and play games. Its all very simple, rustic, and beautiful, with great beaches to comb, quiet roads to bike, bays to kayak; birds to watch, and clams to dig all in the neighborhood. Port Townsend is 25 minutes and trailheads to hike in the Olympics are an hour away. Our summer garden & orchard: Help yourself! Feel free to whatever is in season – tomatoes, kale, salad greens, squash, apples, pears are often abundant. Same with herbs near the house. Check out what we have before bringing salad and other greens from town . Restaurants: the best nearby is the Ajax – down by the water before you get to Pt Hadlock. Farm Reach Café in Chimicum is great for lunch and baked goods, the place at airport is fun and good for breakfast and lunch. And the Chimicum Corner Farm Stand is awesome for a wide choice of local groceries. Oh yea-- the taco place at the discovery bay golf course -- is great! There are a bunch of other great choices in Port Townsend: The Owl Sprit, Sweet Laurette's, the Fountain, and the the Asian noodle place on Rose St are some of our favorites. Housekeeping: We are just a small family farm, we have no staff; (that would be us) so we rely on your help, before you leave: Kitchen clean: dishes done, recycling clean and sorted. Compost emptied into the large bin near garden gate. No animal fats/proteins please. There's a $20 fee if we end up having to clean up after your group. Fires out, lights and all heaters off, toilet fan unplugged (behind hanging quilt). Think of this as a visit to a friend's farm…We host friends, and friends of friends…its not an inn or B&B, but our home, a place, we love to share - for learning, working, playing.. Sheep: Our ewes are Sophie and Lizzie. Feel free to feed them clover, some weeds, apples, raw vegetable scraps, tortilla chips! They love snacks and attention. Water is well water and fine to drink. If you prefer “city" water, com eo over to the main house, for a pitcher. Summer garden & orchard: Help yourself! Feel free to whatever is in season – tomatoes, kale, salad greens, squash, apples, pears are often abundant. Same with herbs near the house. Check out what we have before bringing salad and other greens from town . Guest AccessOur main house is the original homestead's farm house. We're the second or third onl desk homestead on the island! there's also another bunk house, in the back where large parties can rent as well, separately or together. ( see our other listing) occasionally both the bunkhouse and the farmhouse are rented to two different parties, but there's plenty of space and privacy for both, and that is so rare, it's never actually happened... We are usually here to get you settled, hand you keys etc. if not, we will have arranged a hiding place. Interaction with GuestsUsually we will be near by if you need us -- either in the bunk house, or on our boat, right out there in the Bay. We're innkeepers by profession in Puerto Rico ( lafinca caribe) . After 20 years of inn-keeping, we know how to be around as much, or as little as you want. The NeighborhoodPlease be respectful to our neighbors with noise. If you are outside after ten, we ask that you keep things relatively quiet. In its own sleepy way, Marrowstone offers a ton to do; walking and beach-combing: walk to east beach – 5 open miles of sandy beach; or drive north to Ft Flagler State Park for amazing views, beaches, bunkers for kids, and forest trails, and the lighthouse…or a nice three mile country road loop from the our place, down to Meade Rd. or drive an hour to the Mt Townsend trail head…or any of the great Olympic National Park or Forest trails. Restaurants: the best nearby is the Ajax ! Just five miles away down by the water before you get to Pt Hadlock. The Fountain, the Banana Leaf place, and a ton of others abound in PT. Use it for as much as you can – great beer, our neighbor's goat cheese, local oysters, coffee, wine, fish, kayak rentals… etc. Tell them we sent ya. Emergencies: Tom and Sue, next door, the store and are very helpful If they aren't home- ask for help at the store, If you are one of those who love to get your fingers into the dirt…Feel free to weed! Help youself to the veggies, herbs and fruit in season. In the garden, flower beds…anywhere! Tools and gloves are on the messy table next to the “man"door in the barn. We love the help!
