We enjoy having a private space when we get-away, so we do not enter the apartment for housekeeping, etc. while guests are there unless guests have requests. MONS has the advantage of being right on Marshall's main street. So you can park your car (free, camera-monitored parking structure right next to our building ) and enjoy exploring this vibrant, historic small town. Built in1865 as the Perrin Bank , our corner building still has impressive features, such as 15 ft. ceilings and sand stone & limestone facade. After years of restoring it, we believe it is indeed one of the most beautiful business locations in Marshall. It is next to a movie theater and a mediterranean tapas restaurant, so good food and an inexpensive movie are right out your door. It's down the street from many shops and restaurants, including Schuler's, and a short walk to the now-famous Dark Horse Brewery...which is very convenient. FYI *This is a second floor accommodation. Interaction with GuestsOur frame shop, Marshall Framing Studio, is located on the first floor. We welcome guests to stop in to ask questions about their visit to Marshall, and of course, to see our framing showroom. Check out our website under the same name. The NeighborhoodEnjoy safe, interesting walks through our historic neighborhoods, where people say "Hi" when you walk pass. Our vibrant downtown is loaded with independently owned shops, including many vintage, art, antique, salvage, and gift stores, a well-stocked hardware, bars with local flavors, even an independent pharmacy. Theres a yoga studio, tattoo artist, and several hair/nail designers if those are your thing. Marshall has a hard-working Historical Society that maintains three unique museums, plus there is an outstanding Magic Museum just a few doors away. A variety of entertainment is happening at the Franke Center for the Arts which is right next door, and the Great Escape Theater downtown maintains a full schedule of a variety of plays. Getting AroundMostly, just walk ! That's why you come to a small town, to relax, stroll, eat and drink, enjoy ! There is a local driver available (GoDaddy) and Über may be around sometimes. If, by chance, you have the possibility of flying in a small plane, we will gladly pick you up from the Marshall Brooks Airport. The SpaceThe upstairs, downtown space is in the heart of Marshall! A short walk to restaurants, shopping, local theaters, and museums. A perfect location for participating in our many local events including; The Marshall Historic Home Tour, Candlelight Walking Tour, Blues Festival, and the 4th of July Cruise to the Fountain. Your accommodations are one large bedroom with a Queen size bed and an attached full bath. The very large bathroom has a stand up shower only. We have a roll away bed and a Pack N Play for use for a third person, child or infant. The bedroom and bath are located within our second floor office space. The bathroom is shared by office staff (1 or 2 people) during working hours. The space was designed to be an apartment, so it has everything you need. The area outside the bedroom is shared, and includes a kitchen, a dining area that doubles as a work space and a sitting area, all available for your use. The office has very little traffic, and our main business is located downstairs. The downstairs business is open Mon-Sat. It can be a bit noisy during our open hours Mon-Fri from 7 am until 7 pm, but it quiets down later in the day (usually by 4 or 5). We close at 3 pm on Saturdays, and we are rarely around on Sundays or holidays. We may stop by our upstairs office on the weekend, but not for long! Weekday rentals are more suited to early risers or business travelers, and weekends and holidays should suit anyone! Continental breakfast items and beverages will be available for guests in our kitchen area. If you have any specific dietary needs, I'm happy to accommodate them with enough notice. There is a full size refrigerator, a microwave, a stove top (please don't use the oven or fry anything) and a dishwasher for your use. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes, utensils, can opener, corkscrew, salt & pepper, paper towels, dish soap and dish towels. We expect you to clean up after yourself in the kitchen and dining area. There is a private entrance and plenty of free parking. On occasion the free parking fills up because of special events, but we have the use of our own private parking spaces nearby. Guest AccessThe large bedroom is private. The attached bath is shared only during business hours. The rest of the space is shared, but it's mainly employees walking through on their way to our private office, or possibly a customer getting fitted in our upstairs dressing room. All of our work spaces are separate from the bedroom, and the shared space gets minimal use. The bedroom is large enough to comfortably use our rollaway bed or our pack-in-play for a 3rd guest. A child or infant is welcome! We have a safety gate for use at the staircase if needed. Unfortunately, our location is not handicap accessible. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy meeting guests, so I try to be available to check you in myself. If I can't personally be there, my sister Amy, or store manager Deb, will have the honor. On weekdays, one of us will likely be in or around the office during the day, up until 6 or 7 pm. We can answer questions about the area, give suggestions or just chat. If privacy is what you're looking for, we don't bother you after check-in unless you need us! The NeighborhoodMarshall is home to one of the nation's largest historic landmark districts, so we have many historic homes and businesses to see. Our accommodations are within one block of eateries Win Schuler's Restaurant and Pub, The Stagecoach Inn and Jade Garden. We are also within a block or two of the Honolulu House Museum and the famous Brook's Fountain. We are walking distance to many other food and beverage places including; Kate's Diner for a great breakfast, Zarzuela for tapas and sangria, The Broadway Grill, the Copper Bar, Mike's Place for awesome burgers, and the Dark Horse Brewing Company for locally brewed beers and great food. Turkeyville, with it's exclusively turkey menu, theater, shops and special events is a short drive away. For other entertainment, we are within walking distance to several museums, the Bogar movie theater, the Franke Center and Great Escape Theater Company. Albion offers the beautifully restored Bohm Theater which shows movies Thursday-Sunday, and has a Blues concert the first OR second Monday of every month (check their website for details). We are 5 miles from Firekeepers Casino which offers several excellent dining choices, and many entertainment options. Downtown Marshall offers an array of unique shopping opportunities. Albion College and Olivet College are nearby. If you enjoy the outdoors we have lots of options. The Kalamazoo River is nearby offering smallmouth bass fishing (I know a great fly fishing guide), canoeing and kayaking opportunities. Both Marshall and Albion have nature centers to explore. Marshall has the "Riverwalk" which is a lovely walking trail. Albion has an excellent disc golf course at Victory Park. Getting AroundWe are located a mile, maybe two, from both I 69 and I 94. Marshall has a Monday through Friday in-town shuttle service. Call (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) for information on fares and schedule. Other Things to NoteYour accommodations are above a business establishment. We operate Monday-Friday from 6:00 am, closing our doors at 7 pm. On Saturdays, we operate from 7:45 am until we close at 3 pm. Although the bedroom is generally quiet, you may hear some noise from our business operating, as well as street noise as we are right downtown Marshall. Outside noise is rarely an issue, but during special events, pleasant weather and if the windows are open, you could be bothered if you're a light sleeper. I have a dog, Tyler, who accompanies me to work some days. He is a very friendly cock-a-poo.

After taking off 2016, the farmhouse will be for rent again March-late May. We are still booking for weddings June through October. Once our wedding calendar is booked, we will free up dates for the summer (this will likely be in March). If you are interested in a wedding package, please contact us at events@greengardensfarm.com. One of our giant greenhouses is being turned into a wedding reception area in 2017. Gorgeous Italianate farmhouse built in 1832 offers stunning country views and tons of historic character with modern amenities. At 4,400 square feet and 10' ceilings, there's also plenty of room. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, including a beautiful Master Bedroom and attached Master Bath on second floor. We are adding an additional bed in an extra upstairs room in December of 2014 (the house can therefore sleep 12). The huge kitchen/family room combo is THE place to entertain. Cozy den for reading and office with computer for work. Large (16'x32') pool for summer swims, screened-in sun porch for summer sunsets, and 20 scenic acres to roam about. If you love farms, there are six enormous 30'x144' vegetable greenhouses and five acres of vegetables, flowers and herbs. This charming home would make a great place for weekend stays, family and business retreats, or weddings. The cleaning deposit is $200. This is 100% refundable if house is respected, maintained and the house rental agreement followed. Parties and extra people staying in the house will nullify the deposit. Weekly rate is $1400. You can book an entire week, but please know that customers do come to the farm on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons to the Farm Market. Contact us if you are interested and we will provide more details. We live in an apartment completely segregated from the house and will be at the farm daily to tend to the needs of the vegetables, but we will not bother guests of the house. We will be available for assistance, however, if you have any questions or issues with your stay.
