The SpaceRelax in the comfort and history of this 116-year-old farm house with silo and barn. We are lovingly renovating the house (ourselves), and we are constantly inspired by our surroundings and eager to transform our home into an ideal getaway. Guest AccessGuests have access to the house and are welcome to explore the 3 acre property. Explore the 5 mile loop that starts at our barn and covers the towns of Worcester and Maryland. Cyclists who are looking for some serious hills to climb need look no further... you're in the Catskills! Runners, looking to improve on your stamina... come join me on an early 3, possibly 6, mile run. Interaction with GuestsThe house is our permanent residence, but we understand that guests are looking for some quiet and privacy. However if you are looking for company on your walk, run or ride, please don't hesitate to ask. We are avid cyclists, flea market junkies, and all around nature lovers. The NeighborhoodWe sit at an elevation of about 1900, and our neighbors are an acre to several miles away. Most of the homesteads are working farms. For fun there are the following nearby....Betty and Wilbur State Park (hiking, cross country skiing, snow mobile and catch-n-release fishing), Cooperstown (museums, music, wine and breweries), Howes Caverns (famous for its numerous underground caves and geode discovery), Gobbler's Knob Family Fun Park (golfing and go karts) not to mention the numerous flea markets in Oneonta, Cooperstown, Milford, Portlandville, Cobbleskill and Richmondville... all at least 20 - 45 minutes away. Getting AroundA car is necessary, unless you are an avid cyclists. Other Things to NoteWe have 5 dogs, all under 12 inches in height. The oldest (17yrs old) is deaf and blind. The others 10, 8, 7, and 3 yrs. The youngest (recently adopted) can be a bit territorial, so we do give him specific introductions to new people, and block him off in the kitchen. This only takes a day and he realizes you're not there to take him away by the next morning.
None of our dogs are allowed on the upper floors. Dogs are welcome, but only one per stay, and they must be house broken. They are allowed in your room, but while in your attendance. Poo bags will be provided, please pick up and dispose in designated containers.
