Locally known as, the Bate House, this vacation rental was originally built and used as a Bait Shop for over 30 years. Run down and abandoned by the original owners, the current owners restored and repurposed the building into a modern vacation rental.
The Bate House, has one large bedroom with a queen and a twin size bed. The living area sports 4 twin size beds. It has a full kitchen, i.e. stove, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pans, silverware, plates, glasses, cups, towels, and countertop space. The large bathroom hosts a walk-in shower, plus full size washer and dryer. Towels and bed linens are supplied. Whether you just want to spend the night or the week the property has most everything needed.
The house sits on a large shaded lot with plenty of room for outside activities including a native stone lined fire pit. Also room for parking your boat or camper.
Located near five (5) fishing lakes and several public hunting areas, the Bate House is conveniently situated to service both hunters and fishermen. Southeast Kansas is known for its prime deer, turkey, and dove hunting.
The nearest lake, Toronto Lake, is a nationally known for Crappie, Bass, and Catfish fishing. Cross Timbers State Park (Toronto Lake) is 5 minutes away, with its many amenities, including fishing , hiking trails, camping, boating, bicycling, and hosts a large federal wildlife area. Also situated on one of the nations main cycling routes.
The village of Toronto, hosts the nationally known Italian restaurant, Courtneys Places. Several Antique shops, a repurposed furniture shop, and sandwich shop are located in Toronto as well.
