The SpaceKaluaKoi Resort or aka known as Kepuhi Beach Resort is 20 miles from downtown on the West side of the island. There are 3 condo complexes on the west side along with scattered homes on 5 to 20 acres. Most of all this side of island is owned by lg. ranch so gives the feeling of being more safari like with grasses, trees, wild turkeys and abundance of deer and birds. Our complex is on slight slope with grass leading down to ocean. Pool is situated feet from the ocean and offers amazing views and sunsets. Our condos are bungalow style, 8 to 12 units per building. Ours is an upstairs unit with full ocean views from condo. Built at same time as now empty Sheraton Lodge, ours were built as condos with full kitchens where Sheraton was built as hotel rooms. Grounds are green, tropical, clean and with our HI. winds we do not need air or heat. Our condo has queen bed up in loft with queen futon couch in living room which can accommodate two other guests. Due to spiral staircase, small children are not recommended for safety reasons. Guest AccessFull access to anything in condo. We have DVD's, books, music, maps and books about exploring Molokai and the surrounding islands. Good lighting, comfortable seating and everything you could ever need to cook your meals sip your coffee and watch the wild turkeys from your lanai. Pool has amazing ocean views and is steps from the beach. Free parking in front of condo, no assigned spaces. Barbecue pits below condo on grassy slope for all to use Wireless internet is available from our condo, password given with confirmation. Washer/Dryer in multiple spots on complex, uses quarters Interaction with GuestsI am available for any questions easily by email or by phone The NeighborhoodKaluaKoi Resort or aka Kepuhi Beach Resort was built at the same time as The Sheraton Resort. Our section of condos were built as condos with full kitchens, the other half as hotel rooms with restaurant, conference rooms etc. The Sheraton has been closed for over 15yrs but the grounds, pool, parking etc. are fully maintained and kept up. we have rights to the pool. This gives a very quiet, peaceful complex with endless coves and beaches to explore with few people. In the condo is binder full of all activities, restaurants, and places to visit on Molokai. there is small convenient store on premises that also carries great selection of swim suits etc. but closest lg. grocery store is 5 miles up the hill to Maunaloa. Getting AroundFrom the Ho'olehu airport there is alamo car rental service at the airport. Check online for taxi or shuttle service that is available to West End or town. There is a free bus service MEO that covers 75% of island 4 times a day that leaves from airport. Other Things to NoteMolokai is known as the aloha Island. It is very low key, uncrowded, no stoplights, no malls, no 5 star restaurants. But what you will find is an abundance of friendly people, great local food, organic farms such as Kumu farms, and produce,an amazing selection of California wines at the local Liquor store, solitude and crystal clear waters with abundance of sea life. A true getaway from our busy and hectic lives we live.

The SpaceThe condo features a lofted bedroom with a queen sized bed and two sleeping couches downstairs. It's about 800 square feet and has 1.5 bathrooms as well as all the necessary kitchen gear. The Villas are one of the best options for a romantic getaway, for the Molokai-Oahu paddle races, and for families looking for an easy way to hang out for a weekend - or longer. There is a general store (of sorts) for the bare necessities in the complex however we recommend a trip to town (Kaunakakai) for groceries when you land. There are several grocery stores in town -- but bear in mind that Island Time may mean that some stores are closed when you need them (especially on Sundays) There are two large, fluffy futons downstairs, perfect for kids or singles, and a queen-sized bed upstairs, and a beautiful lanai that even works for sleeping. Guest AccessYou'll have full run of the condo association, which includes the beach, the pool and various related amenities. Walking over the ridge to the north takes you to the Papahaku State Park, home to one of the biggest beaches in the Hawaiian Islands (look out for Endangered Monk Seals -- and keep 100 feet away if you see them) and walking over the ridge to the south takes you to Paniolo Hale, a beautiful place to spend the day relaxing in the sun (keep in mind that the sun is many times more powerful than it is up north and you could get burned almost instantly in the early afternoon). You're a short drive from Maunaloa, home to the Kite Shop (eccentric owner Jonathan will keep you entertained with stories for days), and to the road that leads to Hale o Lono, a former sugar port now home to great fishing spots and desolate, tide pool-ridden beaches. Molokai is the Friendly Isle for a reason - all of the inhabitants (or at least most of them) know one another. It's a great place for an adventure or two - from SCUBA, deep sea fishing and whale watching with Captain Clay (visit the wharf) to climbing up the mountain in a Jeep to see some of the last remaining native Hawaiian cloud forest. Interaction with GuestsWe won't have any interaction with you while you are on the island (we visit sporadically and live on the mainland) but we recommend reaching out to Kevin, our property manager, if you have any issues. He is available as needed, 1-800-Molokai. Our guests often leave tips -- and we'll send across a document that outlines the best of them when you book. The NeighborhoodThe Villas are located on the far West End of the island, and were built many years ago as part of a now-shuttered luxury resort complex. It's a wild adventure. The surf is much higher in winter than in summer, and the beaches shift significantly with the seasons. The condo association is not responsible for many of the ... less maintained buildings adjacent to the resort -- but that's all because of an ongoing feud between Molokai Ranch, which owns much of the West End of the island, and residents of everywhere else. Getting AroundAirport: Ho'olehua (MKK) Ferry: Lahaina->Kaunakakai If you're having an issue with rental cars, we advise reaching out to Molokai's Island Kine car rental as a second option (office in town). Please note that the island has a limited number of rental cars by design and it can be difficult to get around without one. If you're staying for a very short amount of time Hele Mai is the island taxi service, and they are willing to drive you and yours from the airport to the villas, especially with advance notice. Additionally, Molokai Bike can rent you road bikes for the duration of your stay - we only recommend this to tough bikers as the climbs are very long and very intense, as is the sun. Other Things to NoteBring hiking boots and at least one sweatshirt. Our favorite beaches: 4x4 Drives / West End Mo'omomi Natural Reserve Hale O Lono Papohaku (biggest beach in Hawaii) Driving East Mile 20 (East End) Best snorkeling Halawa Valley Hike To La'au Point (hike) Kawekio also snorkel The waterfall is Halawa. Eddie Tanaka is a great slide guitarist - you can go hang out with him and carve Hawaiian canoes. You can pull mangroves in the fish ponds, too. Check the Molokai Dispatch for updates. At about 7pm the Molokai Hot Bread place opens. It's down a weird alley in Kaunakakai. It is the best food that they have. Look for all the trucks parked on the main drag and then look between the buildings. You'll see a random line - the only line for anything. It's very cash only. There is a really good luthier if you want a fancy ukulele down east end (the surf breaks on that side if you can't see surf at the condo).

The SpaceThis spacious open-air condo is located at Paniolo Hale Condominiums on the island of Moloka'i, Hawaii. It is unit T2. The architecture is plantation-style, with two white french doors spanning the length of the main floor. It is two-story, with one bedroom on the upper floor, and a full bathroom on each floor. The ceilings are high on each level, equipped with ceiling fans. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Outside the french doors is a screened-in lanai with a hammock underneath a canopy of large trees. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with tropicals. Just a 2-minute walk away is Kepuhi Beach. Moloka'i is only 20 minutes by air from Hawaii's most populous islands, Oahu and Maui, and yet has a totally different feel. It has been described as "The island in Hawaii the world left behind." The scenery has an untamed and isolated beauty about it. It is truly a quiet and non commercialized place. You can easily have a beach to yourself. The people are friendly, and you get the sense that you have experienced "the real Hawaii." It is the perfect place if you really want to get away from it all.

The SpaceUnit is located within an attractive condominium complex on the island’s northwest shore called Paniolo Hale, which translates “Cowboy House” in Hawaiian. The units all have wrap-around, screened-in porches or lanais. When the French doors on the living room are open, the living space expands to include this semi-enclosed area effectively blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior space. It’s a great place to eat meals, read, overlook the ocean, or even sleep as a cool breeze blows and waves break gently in the distance. Unit is a 5-minute walk to Kepuhi Beach (which it overlooks) and a 10-minute walk to Makehorse Beach. Although the condominium complex dates back to 1980, the bathroom and kitchen have recently been renovated. Unit amenities include: Washer & dryer, Stainless steel electric stove with range, Stainless steel refrigerator with filtered water and icemaker, Microwave, New dishes and glasses, Hand-sewn quilts decorating the walls.
