The SpaceOur place is spacious, modern and geographically central to all of Canberra's tourist attractions and other facilities. We're 15 minutes to the airport, 5 minutes to the city, Parliament House, etc. Regionally the snowy mountains is only 2 hours away. And for those VMOs , patients or visiting family members, Canberra Hospital is only 5 minutes walk away. ( convenient to some). Comfortable for two people, your own bathroom, free car parking and breakfast to go. Being located on the ground level, you have your own private bedroom and bathroom along with the use of the kitchen and living areas. This includes our landscaped courtyard for some relaxing RnR. Beyond our bedroom and ensuite, we welcome you to our lovely abode. We enjoy meeting and chatting to new visitors, especially over a coffee, tea or breakfast. Therefore we are usually home when visitors are dropping in. Our neighbourhood is quiet but very accessible to all the local and regional attractions that Canberra has to offer. There is a coffee/ bakery shop in walking distance and regular public transport is close by. Public transport (bus service) are just at the end of the street and this leads to the city main bus depot in 10 minutes. At this point you can connect to all interstate bus services. The local bus network can get you to most attractions around Canberra. If you are driving, free parking is just outside and if you are flying, well a 15 minute taxi ride is all you need. For the tourist many attractions are detailed on Trip Advisor. We are central to the Canberra region, so please enjoy and come and stay. The SpaceWelcome to our lovely family home and thank you for checking my listing! I enjoy showing visitors my city, and regularly host short term consultants, international visitors, students and families with small children. The location is absolutely perfect for both visitors and students coming here short or long term. The airport is less than 20 mins away. The bus stop is only minutes walk, and will take you to the Universities and city centre in no time! My comfortable and roomy home is located in south suburban Canberra, the capital of Australia. Nearby, you can find a variety of walking trails, supermarket, shops, fast food, restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Indian, Italian), club, a swimming pool, gym and library. To make this a truly Australian experience, it is only five mins walk to see kangaroos at the Farrer Ridge nature reserve - almost our backyard! Relax with a book on the deck and feed our native (URL HIDDEN) magpie family comes daily for hand feeding. Two spacious bedrooms (listed separately) have everything you need. Each boasts a large window, bed (double or 2 singles), closet, chest of drawers, shelves/bookcase and desk. Bed linen and towels supplied. The main bathroom has been totally renovated and is beautiful. Two adults maximum per bedroom. Small children can be accommodated with parents in same bedroom. Note: This bedroom listing is similar to but separate from my other bedroom listing as I need the facility to book both separately in the calendar. I will discount a third unlisted bedroom (if available) by the same party. The SpaceWelcome to Canberra and thank you for checking this listing! Wake up to a lovely quiet, light filled home in the south side of Canberra. There is central heating for those chilly winter days and air conditioning for our hot summers. Your room has a single king bed, inbuilt wardrobe and table with a lamp for reading. There is a separate, shared bathroom and toilet, a modern kitchen and laundry for your convenience, a very comfortable living room, front and back pergola where you can sit and enjoy the gardens. I am happy to share my knowledge of the best things to do here in Canberra including art galleries, gardens, bush walks, restaurants, markets, venues and bands. The house is close to public transport, a large shopping centre with a variety of restaurants, recreation club and gym centre and another smaller one with a supermarket and an excellent, brand new Thai Restaurant, all within walking distance. The residence has plenty of off street parking with a lovely outlook onto a large bush garden. The property is also within walking distance of two nature reserves with lots of walking tracks and fantastic views of the city and the mountains. With a bit of luck you will encounter our local wedgetail eagle family as well as many other local flora and fauna. Namadgi and Tidbinbilla National Parks as well as the Canberra Deep Space Station are also within 20 minutes drive from here. We are 10 minutes drive from Woden and Tuggeranong shopping centres and 20 minutes from the city so very suitable for short stay public servants. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole house most days. I teach music from home Tuesday and Wednesday from early afternoon to early evening, so use of the kitchen and living rooms are limited during those times. No probs with walking through the teaching area however. Also two pushbikes are available for you to have some fun to explore the area, have a relaxing ride down by Tuggeranong Lake, or go shopping . Interaction with GuestsI love chatting with my guests about their travel experiences and other interesting topics. I am very happy to advise on what to see and where to go in our amazing city. I am home during the morning to early afternoon. The NeighborhoodI love this neighbourhood because it is very quiet, lots of walks and bike paths to beautiful mountain scenery, lake views, beautiful sunsets, amazing local flora and fauna. Getting AroundBus stops are a minute's walk away from here. to take you to Canberra City or Tuggeranong Shopping Centre. Two smaller local shopping centres are 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride away. Other Things to NoteI teach music from home two days a week in the afternoon to early evening, so use of the kitchen and living rooms are limited during those times. No probs with walking through the teaching area however.

The home is a short drive to all amenities including Erindale shopping and Leisure Centre, Canberra Private Hospital, CIT, and Woden shopping complex. It is a short stroll to a local bus stop. The home is fully equipped with all the living necessities, including cupboards in the room, modern kitchen, dishwasher, front load washing machine, wireless broadband and fridge. The bedroom is fully carpeted, has blinds and a lockable door. The bedrooms have furnished with a double bed. Guest Accessseperate entrance so guest may be in and out without contacting the host. The SpaceThis newly renovated cottage is north facing, to get the winter sunshine. It is an attractive, quiet and private cottage. It is nestled in a leafy garden in a quiet street. Well appointed, with fridge, microwave, wall oven, dishwasher, toaster, jug, air conditioning, TV and free wi fi. Washing and drying can be arranged for a small fee. Guests have access to the cottage through a Guests have access to the cottage though a private entrance from the off street parking. Guests are welcome to use the private courtyard adjacent to the cottage cabin at any time. We consider guests' privacy to be important. Accordingly, we will be available should they need anything, but not intrusive. We are usually at home and will advise guests if we are going away at any time . Torrens is close to the geographic centre of Canberra. It is 10 - 15 mins to the City Centre and New Acton, Manuka, Kingston and Fyshwick and to attractions including the National Museum, National Library, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, High Court, Questacon, New Parliament House, Old Parliament House and Regatta Point. Torrens is also well located to take advantage of national events such as Floriade, the Multi-cultural festival and the Arthur Boyd exhibition at the National Gallery. There is a fabulous multi cultural shopping centre nearby and a number of good cafes. There is a bus stop one block away from the cottage. Free off street parking is included. Interaction with GuestsI am a friendly guy, willing to show you round a bit, especially if you're here over the weekend. During the warmer months, am often at the coast on weekends, if you've ever wanted to learn how to surf I'm a good teacher! The NeighborhoodRed Hill is in the inner south of Canberra, a very central spot, from the top of the hill, you have views all over the city. We are a 10 minute drive to the city, and only a few minutes to trendy Manuka and Kingston. In the warmer weather, the art deco Manuka pool is lovely for a swim. There are also Sunday markets at the Kingston foreshore, and Fyshwick food markets are a short drive away. Getting AroundThere are buses but they are not regular, like most of Canberra outside the cbd. Red Hill has a small shopping centre a 15 minute walk away.

The SpaceThe unit will easily sleep a couple and two singles. There is a double bed, a single bed with a trundle. The kitchen is well equipped with the essentials for you culinary needs. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole of the unit including the washing machine. Interaction with GuestsMore than likely, I won't get to see you. I'll arrange a place for you to pick up the keys, that is very close by. The NeighborhoodThe unit is across the road from 2 of Canberra's top restaurants, 'Ethiopia Down Under' (URL HIDDEN) and Rama's (URL HIDDEN) It is also a 10 minute leafy walk to 'A Bite To Eat' (URL HIDDEN) at Chifley shops. Mount Taylor is directly behind the unit and is the perfect place to see the Australian Grey kangaroo. These are native animals in the wild, so you won't be able to feed them, but you can get quite close for photographing. The walk to the top of Mount Taylor is via a footpath off of Hodgson Cres two minutes uphill from the unit. (leave via the carpark and turn right). Getting AroundThe unit is on two bus routes which take you to Woden Plaza or from where you can catch 'intercity' express buses to Tuggeranong, Belconnen and City. If you have bikes, there are lots of meandering bike tracks in Canberra, often off of the roads, to explore the neighborhood or ride into the City centers. The airport is 20 minutes away by road and if you don't have your own car then a taxi is the best option. The cost for a taxi is approximately $42 (October 2014) You can contact me with your needs and I will do my best to help you. Other Things to NoteIf for any reason there is a problem with the water supply (leaking) the stop-cock is in the bathroom, close to the floor, alongside the toilet pan.

Griffith features tree lined streets that the more established Canberra suburbs are known for. For a business trip, it is only minutes from the Parliamentary triangle and offices, and a short trip into the CBD. For a holiday, Griffith is right on the doorstep of some of Canberra's best tourist attractions, and handy to markets, cafes and restaurants. Five minutes away by car is Manuka, home to some of Canberra's finest boutique shops, restaurants and cafes. Manuka's attractions include a cinema, books shops, boutique fashion and jewellery shops, as well as branches of all major banks. Also nearby is Kingston. Spacious family home with private bedrooms and main bathroom for student use, parking, garden, three bus routes nearby, shops, community library, restaurants, theatre, leisure centre & swimming pool within walking distance; kangaroos 5 mins walk away. ------------------ I like to have the company of young people & also be of assistance to our international student guests. I taught ESL for over 20 years to tertiary students of all nationalities. I speak some bahasa Indonesia/Malayu language, & enjoy Asian food. I have lived in & visited Europe, Nth & Sth America, SEA, Sth Asia & the Middle East, including Iran and UAE & Afghanistan. I work in the city & can drop my homestay students in the city in the mornings & arrange a ride home most days. There are three bus routes very near the house. Students often join me in weekend activities, & I show them around when convenient & studies are not pressing. My home is heated & air-conditioned, with separate living areas. There is a big deck at the back with a BQ and where we feed the birds; and there is plenty of room for friends to visit from time to time. No pets now. I like reading, gardening, cooking, visiting exhibitions in our museums, picnics, classical music, theatre, dining & walking with friends; & play tennis regularly. I like to learn about each student, his/her family, culture and cooking.

The Chifley Shops (300m) has a great little supermarket, bakery & liquor shop as well as the funky A Bite to Eat Cafe, Restaurant & Bar - a great place for coffee or Sunday afternoon beer, tapas and live music. There is a gym 150m away and close to bike and walking paths as well as Mt Taylor Nature Reserve with kangaroos and loads of native birds! The Pearce shopping centre is 1km walk - the famous Rama's Fijian Indian Restaurant, Ethopia Downunder Restaurant (great food & inexpensive options) along with a cheap and cheerful Vietnamese, Deeks Bakery and a small supermarket and bottleshop. Located close to Canberra Hospital, Royal Australian Mint, National Arboretum, National Zoo & Aquarium. The SpaceWe have a studio en suite room in our garden for short term lease. Very private with a nice garden outlook. While there are no cooking facilities in the room, there is a small microwave for heating food, and a fridge, toaster and kettle are provided, along with crockery and cutlery. Linen, including towels, provided. The bed is a double. Off street car accommodation is a possibility. For bookings of a week or more, your room will be serviced if you desire. Fresh towels provided on request but not more frequently than every three days and fresh bed linen provided weekly by arrangement. Use of our washing machine is available by arrangement as well. There is a large covered outdoor area next to the studio that is an ideal spot for breakfast or for a drink at the end of the day. A BBQ is available for use in this area. We are happy to share a drink and chat and can also assist you plan your sightseeing if you would like. Queanbeyan is within easy travel to major Canberra attractions, and the airport and the accommodation is suitable for both business and recreational travellers. While ideally a car would be best for accessing Canberra, we can provide pick up on arrival by arrangement and can transport to and from Canberra attractions on week days by arrangement as one of us works in Canberra most days. The SpaceMy husband and I live in Jerrabomberra which is about a 15 minute drive from Canberra airport and a 20 min drive from the CBD (often known as Civic). If you are traveling through the ACT on your way to Melbourne or Sydney, we are in between the Monaro and Kings Highway. The house is on a lovely, quiet street with a reserve close by. We have three bedrooms which we offer to you within our home and a toilet/bathroom that is next to the three rooms. These bedrooms are situated at the back of our home and offers some privacy. The SpaceHi , We have only just started with the adds to rent and have had some interest but no one has made a commitment as yet. Our house is approx 45 squares and there is only my wife and myself at the other end of the house. The room has all furniture incl large wall mounted TV, (provision for Foxtel only, socket), full queen size suite including drawer units either side, dresser and built in robe. The SpaceSpacious, clean and tidy large home that you will NOT need to share. Sorry, strictly NO PETS allowed sorry. The front yard features a deck, pergola, where you enter into the light filled lounge room with floating timber flooring which takes you to the second bedroom with a single bed and sliding door accessing the backyard. Also to the front of the home you will find the main bedroom with a queen sized bed and a large walk in robe and ensuite. Carry on to the large open plan kitchen and family room that is the heart of the home. The family room has a very large, comfy lounge and TV. The kitchen offers plenty of bench space, ceramic cook-top, oven, dishwasher, toaster, jug and large fridge/freezer. It features an island bench in the middle with breakfast bar and seating. Please note there is no dining table. A glass sliding door opens out onto the large deck with, pergola, side courtyard garden with lawn. The outdoor setting here offers a tranquil space to sit back and relax with outdoor couches and table with chairs. From the kitchen and family room area you can access the undercover parking through the laundry (washing machine, dryer and iron located here). Off the family room is bedroom 3 with two single beds then continuing past the family room is the hallway leading you to bedrooms 4 and 5, they are both oversized, one with a double bed and the other a queen. And each have a fold out single that can be moved about the house (better suited for kids). Opposite these rooms is the powder room with twin sinks and the main bathroom with vanity, shower and spa bath, then a separate w/c. At the end of this hallway is bedroom 6 which has one single bed, helping the house to sleep 14 people in total. In the large back yard you will find the clothes line beside the timber screens that hide the two sheds. Sorry, no pets. This home is located at the end of a quite cul de sac in a beautiful, established suburb, close to bus stops, Chisholm Shops and the M-Powerdome Recreational Facility. All 6 rooms have beds (as described in the bed listing) and one living area has a fold out couch (as shown in photos). All of these rooms are fully accessible to guests to use . A key is supplied for access thru the laundry door to the home and this is via the garage/carport area (not the front door). There is space for one car undercover parking and three off street. Two cars can fit in driveway and this is preferable to free up the street access. The two sheds in the back yard are off limits. In some of the walk in robes, items are being stored and in boxes. Wardrobes can be used but boxes stored within and all other items must be left as is. NO PETS PLEASE NOTE : Linen is not supplied. Only Doona covers, bath mats and tea towels. Linen can be supplied for a fee if required. Interaction with GuestsDuring the dates listed, guests will have private use of the home. I live nearby but unless a problem arises, I should not have a reason to visit the property during your stay. NO PETS, sorry. Even if you are a small group, I do not take multiple bookings so guests are not having to share the house with other guests. The entire home is yours when booked. The NeighborhoodVery quiet neighborhood in a small street. There is NO neighbors on one side of the house where the entertaining deck area is. Getting AroundBus stops are a one minute walk away. Local shops a ten minute walk or a few minutes in the car. Gilmore is classed as the south side of Canberra, better known as Tuggeranong. The CBD (Civic) is about a 25 min drive away. Other Things to NoteNO PETS. To keep the base rate low, towels as well as Linen for beds, are NOT supplied for this price. However, if you do not wish to save money this way then these items can be supplied upon request but a fee will be charged per person or bed to cover supply and cleaning of them. (you make the bed and then must strip it at the end of your stay and you must put all used items in the laundry hamper.) Pillows and doonas or blankets are provided. (as shown in pics) This house is currently set up for display to sell. I ask that you respect this and leave the home as you found it. Two bedrooms have Queen beds, one of these rooms has an ensuite. One bedroom has a double bed. Two bedrooms have one single bed in each. One bedroom has two singles. Supplied is also two fold out singles that can be moved in to any room in the house. (better suited for kids) The front lounge room has a fold down couch that can be used as a double bed. (Please do not sleep on the large lounge in the family room) Children and babies (3 months old +) are classed as guests and must be booked as a guest and paid for. There is no inside dining table. Bedrooms have robes with some hangers in them. The kitchen has plates, cups, utensils etc and basic cooking pans etc. There is no internet provided. There is one TV (working) in the family room for use. There is a split system in the family room area for heating and cooling, other (small)heating is supplied in all the bedrooms. Ceiling fans in master and one other bedroom. There is a BBQ on the premises but it is not included as an amenity as it is not up-kept for use. If you would like to try using it, you can, but you will have to clean it and supply your own gas. A gas bottle is there (unless taken by prior guests) in which you can take to the service station and swap and go if it is empty. BUT once again I remind you... I do not take care of the up-keep of this BBQ for guests use, it is not part of the house listing or amenities. The amenities also do not include things you may get in a motel or bed n breakfast. This is my home. I supply enough toilet paper for you to get thru your first day so you don't have to rush out to the shops first thing. I try to regularly check and replace things like dishwashing liquid, hand soap, (after the cleaner has gone thru the house) but sometimes guests take these things with them and it may not get noticed before your visit, so I apologise if a few essentials are not there and because I cannot guarantee them, this is the reason I do not list them as being provided. So having said this, if you are a guest, please think of the next visitors and do not take these items with you, Thank you. There is parking for one car in the garage/carport area. Two cars can then fit in the driveway and room for one car or two small cars on the front gravel area. Please do not park on neighbors front yard areas.

There is central heating for those chilly winter days and air conditioning for our hot summers. Your room has a double sofa bed with a very comfortable futon mattress. It has views out to the front garden. There is a separate, shared bathroom and toilet, a modern kitchen and laundry for your convenience, a very comfortable living room, front and back pergola where you can sit and enjoy the gardens. I am happy to share my knowledge of the best things to do here in Canberra including art galleries, gardens, bush walks, restaurants, markets, venues and bands. The house is close to public transport, a large shopping centre with a variety of restaurants, recreation club and gym centre all within walking distance. The residence has plenty of off street parking with a lovely outlook onto a large bush garden. The property is also within walking distance of two nature reserves with lots of walking tracks and fantastic views of the city and the mountains. With a bit of luck you will encounter our local wedgetail eagle family as well as many other local flora and fauna. Namadgi and Tidbinbilla National Parks as well as the space station are also within 20 minutes drive from here. We are 10 minutes drive from Woden and Tuggeranong shopping centres and 20 minutes from the city so very suitable for short stay public servants. Once lessons are over, complete access is available once more. The NeighborhoodThis neighbourhood is very quiet yet close to lots of amenities and amazing bush walks. There are plenty of bike paths to take to all kinds of places further afield: beautiful mountain vistas and lakes. Sitting on the back porch, you will make your acquaintance with our wonderful selection of parrots and other birdlife here in Canberra. And of course, on your bush walks, you will see lots of kangaroos. Getting AroundThere are several bus stops only a minute or so walk from my home. Off and on street parking is available. Taxi from the airport is recommended.
