The SpaceBrand-new sparkling-clean modern apartment in Stonefields in Central Auckland. The apartment is on the 5th floor (top level). It is light and airy, warmly-insulated and gets plenty of sun. The apartment building is gated so is very safe. There is free on-street parking available on the road outside.
I have 1 small-ish bedroom available, with a new queen-sized bed and nice linen. The room and apartment are immaculately clean. The bathroom and apartment is shared but only with 1 person (me) and I am often out anyway! Fast and reliable wifi. View from bedroom overlooking a volcano called Mt Wellington/Maungarei
Apartment is only 11km from the CBD and 5km from Sylvia Park (the biggest shopping mall in NZ). There is a bus stop right outside and the train station a short walk away - both will take you to the key sites of Auckland such as the CBD, Newmarket, Parnell shops....I have a 'hop card' visitors can borrow which means you can access discounted rates for bus/trains/ferries.
The apartment is only a 5 minute walk to a lovely little block of shops which includes restaurants, cafes, supermarket, a pub and a Sunday market. Walking distance to a beautiful board walk along a lake. 20km from the airport. 4km from the beach.
I am more than happy to offer guests tips and advice on places to see and how to make the most of your time in Auckland. Guest AccessThe lounge, dining area and balcony are beautifully decorated and guests are very welcome to make use of these areas. All I ask is that you leave it as clean and tidy as you found it. You are welcome to use the kettle, stove, microwave, fridge, pantry etc to store food and prepare meals as long as you clean up after yourself. Guests are not permitted to use the oven without prior permission.
You will be given a key of your own for easy access.
Tea, coffee, milk and basic breakfast supplies (ie cornflakes, oats, weetbix, baked beans, canned fruit etc) are provided for you to help yourself to. There are supermarkets, cafes and takeaways within walking distance.
I am happy to do a load of washing for you for a fee of $5. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy sharing the beauty of Auckland with visitors and I am more than happy to help you in planning what to do in NZ and can offer tips and advice. I have even put together a guide book with suggestions of great places in Auckland to check out. I have stayed in airbnb places around the world and always had great experiences -staying in other peoples places has given me a good insight into the role of a host. I very much enjoy meeting people from all over the world and would be keen to catch up at the end of the day with a drink. But I am also happy to offer you space and privacy if this is what you prefer :) The NeighborhoodStonefields is a new development located in the central eastern suburbs of Auckland. With no through traffic it makes for very quiet suburban streets. A very safe area with stunning views over a volcano called Mt Wellington. Walk only 5 min down the road and you're in the Stonefield markets where you can have a coffee at the best cafe around Charlie and George, or a afternoon drink at the Speights Ale House or why not stay for a few more drinks and dinner, or pop next door to the local Italian restaurant or Japanese restaurant for something yummy. In the market is also a supermarket, liquor store, nail bar, medical centre, pharmacy and other shops which come in handy....

My place is a 10min walk to University of Auckland's Tamaki Campus so its perfect for anyone travelling for a conference or course there.
I work in Grafton (which is a 5min walk from Auckland University and Auckland Hospital) so if you are working there you may be able to get a lift with me if our times coincide. My work is a 15min walk from the CBD or Newmarket so I'm happy for you to catch a ride with me and I can show you how to walk from my work to the CBD or Newmarket if you like. Other Things to NoteI will be at work during normal business hours - I'm a Nurse Specialist working with children who are suspected of having suffered abuse or neglect. And I'm often out in the evenings too doing voluntary work helping new refugee families and catching up with friends and family. So you will largely have the apartment to yourself for most of the time! But I am always available by phone and email if needed.
I appreciate plenty of notice as to what times you would like to arrive and depart so we can make arrangements.....If you are arriving between 730am-5pm on a weekday I will be at work so I will either ask my Mum or a neighbour to meet you and let you in. Once you have arrived you will be given a key of your own so you can come and go whenever.
