The SpaceWe are very happy to share our home with you. Here are some helpful things to note to make your stay a little easier:
• The wifi password is all lowercase: skunkdog . A silly name, hopefully easy to remember. It is also taped to the front of the fridge just in case.
• The Kitchen: Glasses are kept to the left of the sink, and we do drink the water from the tap. The plates, bowls, and mugs are kept in the cupboard to the right of the bathroom entrance. The coffee, electric tea kettle, and toaster are placed inside the beverage station. The top drawer of the beverage station has the tea, coffee, filters, etc. Inside of the white door pantry has the recycling and the garbage (black lid). The dishwasher does not work at this time. Hand washing is available, but not necessary. Leave them in the sink and we'll get them for you.
• The Living Room has a Playstation and WiiU, both of which have games as well as Netflix access. The WiiU remote controls the TV input. If you have any questions about working the electronics, contact William directly. We light up the living room by the lamp next to the entertainment center, and the light behind the bookshelf (connected to light switch by entrance door).
• The Bathroom: Towels are located in the set of cabinets closest to the window. There is also a small bin of extra toiletries with travel size shampoos, etc. in case anything was forgotten. To work the shower, turn on the water by twisting the lever to the left. Once the water is flowing, pull the tap on the spout to connect to shower head down. Water temperature is very sensitive, it takes minimal effort to change the degree of hot water. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to all rooms of the home. Feel free to use and move anything in the kitchen, living room, and main area spaces.
Between the two main floor bedrooms is an office which can be used to store anything extra you have out of the way.
The first floor contains one full bath off of the kitchen. To gain access to the second full bath, go towards the garage off the kitchen to the basement stairs. Down there through the laundry room is the second bath.
Our property line in the backyard stretches from the two sides of the black fence and all the way down to the water. This includes the fire pit and the dock. The dock can absolutely be utilized by guests if they have brought or rented a boat, jet skis, etc.
To access the water, the closest launch is the Ninth Street Boat Launch, which is a paved ramp. Plenty of parking at the launch itself, or drive and park back by the house. It is close enough to walk to and from if desired or needed. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact with guests as much or little as they'd like during their stay. Just let us know. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is usually pretty lively with good weather. We are in an excellent area, great for walking, bike riding, and other outdoor activities.
The other boaters on the lake are friendly and courteous towards other boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders, and swimmers. Getting AroundDowntown Menasha has free parking on Main Street, perfect for visiting the Weather Vane restaurant, visiting the Thursday afternoon farmers market, and more.
Downtown Appleton has meter parking which turns free after 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday, perfect for the many nightlife restaurants and seasonal activities. Although Appleton is a larger city, these meters for daytime use take coins, even the parking garage. Most businesses downtown are willing to give you change for a dollar, but always good to be aware.
