The SpaceOur Federation house is lovingly restored offering a warm homely stay. One of its main features is the long wide hallway and high California redwood ceilings. The large bedroom has a firm double bed and ceiling fan for hot nights and good old fashioned hot water bottles for winter! Guests enjoy the exclusive use of a spacious bathroom with bath and shower and share the living areas with the owners. There is a separate room with sofa bed for one or two more adult guests. From the back deck guests can enjoy a peaceful garden setting with Australian native plants and birds, vegetable patch, bees and lawn. Guest AccessGuests come and go as they please via the front door. There is plenty of free parking on the street outside the house. Guests can enjoy exclusive use of the main bathroom. Other spaces are shared with the owners. The laundry offers undercover and/or sunny drying conditions as well as a dryer. Interaction with GuestsWe welcome fellow travelers to share stories and to ask about local events, sites and attractions. We mostly like doing this over food and drinks!! It means sharing a glass of wine, freshly brewed coffee or a range of tea options with a snack. The NeighborhoodA 5 minute walk can take guests to Merewether's beach and Ocean Baths, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Bather's Way, a beautiful coastal walk can be followed into Newcastle and the Harbour. Getting AroundBuses stop 100 metres from the front door. Other Things to NoteWe have a cat "Millie' who keeps to herself, mostly outside sleeping, as you do if you're a cat!!

The Space Immaculate purpose built cottage in grounds of beautifully renovated period home only 150 metres from Merewether beach, baths and cafes.. Private, elegant and comfortable with views of coast and garden. Entry level has bathroom and reading room. Upstairs is bedroom, kitchenette (with stone sinks & bench), lounge and dining area. Equipped with foxtel, wifi & smart t.v. Guests have electronic access through our gates and can drive to the cottage entrance. You set the pace! We are happy to give you as much privacy as you wish but are available when you need us. The cottage is quiet and is a separate building to our accommodation. Merewether is a fabulous Newcastle beachside suburb and we are only 150 metres from the beach and baths. Great beachside cafes are just a stroll and the fabulous Bather's Way starts here - great for your daily exercise or just enjoying the passing parade. Nearby are the popular and edgy eating/shopping precincts of the Junction and Darby Street Cooks Hill. The attractions of the vibrant city of Newcastle with its beautiful working harbour and foreshores, vibrant entertainment culture, restaurant and bars are only minutes away. Glenrock recreation area is within walking distance - bikers can easily access the renowned Fernleigh Track. There is a local bus stop is 200 metres away. We are happy to collect guests from the Newcastle trains station. Guest AccessGuests have parking, wifi, smart television, foxtel, air-conditioning (or ocean breezes). No shared space or amenities. The SpaceShared kitchen, shower and large bath available. Easy on street parking. A simple breakfast of cereals, toast, tea and coffee is available. Most people comment on the view from the back garden, also the largeness of the home. It is always clean and tidy but at the same time you will feel it is a homey home away from home. There is no air conditioning but there is a pedestal fan and regular on-shore ocean breezes.The guest area is fully carpeted. There are 17 steps in the flight of stairs to the lower guest area. Note that we do not charge for cleaning nor do we require a security deposit and we provide your beach towels. Guest AccessGuests will have access to those areas of the home that are on the same level as their bedroom. This includes the spacious lounge with television and hi-fi system, sun room, bathroom, kitchen, outdoor dining area with barbecue and the terraced back yard with frog pond. There is a shared fridge and pantry space. Interaction with Guests Guests are also welcome to share in other spaces in the house including the kitchen and all the appliances. We are very open to interaction with guests to help them with sight seeing, food options and just general friendly discussions. The NeighborhoodMerewether is a premier Newcastle suburb because of its beachside qualities. Newcastle is an excellent place to visit with the Lonely Planet rating Newcastle as ninth in the world for 2011, it is close to Sydney, beach, bay, bush and has an active night life. Our home is within easy walking to beach, restaurants, clubs and pubs. Getting AroundBus stop nearby. If travelling by car traffic is easy. Walking to many places of interest is possible from Merewether. The scenic coastal walk into the CBD is about 5 Kms and should take an hour. Happy to pick you up from the train or bus station. Williamtown Airport is about 30 minutes by road from Newcastle Station which is also the bus terminus. A taxi is about $65. The bus, pscoaches com au , costs about $5 with sometimes more than an hour between services. Check their website for the timetable and phone them for the fare. There is a ferry from near the terminus to Stockton, a short trip across the Hunter River for a day of more pristine beaches and the breakwater walk. Other Things to NoteThis private room is in the lower floor of our home. The upper floor is listed separately as "Entire floor! 10 min walk to beach".

The SpaceNew York style loft/aptmnt less than 100m from Merewether Beach / Ocean Baths. The loft features a queen size bed, futon lounge, b/room, tv, m/wave. A short distance to shops,cafés and restaurants in the junction and Darby st. Close to public trans The space is unique with its pyramid style ceiling and is light and airy. The NeighborhoodMerewether is a beautiful beach including the Merewether baths if you fancy some laps you can even grab a coffee on your way back. Nearby is the famous family owned and run Beaches hotel for a casual meal and an ice cold drink or you can walk on up to Surf House for a drink in their bar or dinner in their restaurant. You really don't need to get into a car while staying here everything is within walking distance. Getting AroundThere is a designated parking spot onsite for the unit as well as 3 visitor parking spaces. You can hire a car or get a taxi from Newcastle Airport which is a 35min drive. The closest train station is Broadmeadow and there is a bus stop at the end of the street. Other Things to NoteClose to shops, restaurants & bars, parks and beaches. The SpaceEveryone agrees that the Magic Cabin is great value for a peaceful (note: no TV!), air conditioned, completely self contained cottage with verandahs on two sides, overlooking and set in rainforest and organic gardens. And yet, it really doesn't feel like you are so close to the city! I keep the kitchen stocked with basics like rice, flour, noodles, cooking oil, different kinds of long-life milks, etc. I make home-made organic muesli for you - with organic almonds, pepitas, sunflower and sesame seeds, sultanas, dates, oats, etc. Fruit and eggs in the fridge, organic butter, gluten free bread and other breads in the freezer to make toast. The Cabin has a bedroom (with wardrobe, queen bed), bathroom (shower and toilet), fully equipped kitchen (with full-size fridge, etc), and dining/living areas where there is a double fold out lounge that can sleep up to 2 extra people). Situated at the end of a quiet no-through street, on a hill overlooking a nature sanctuary rainforest gully and organic gardens. You can enjoy the morning sun and wildlife from the verandahs that wrap the north and eastern sides of the Cabin. The kitchen has a Microwave oven, electric jug, double hotplate stove, a toaster and an electric frypan and a full-size fridge stocked with some essentials (muesli, fresh fruit, eggs, condiments, milk, etc). There is also an iron and ironing board and you have a private clothesline on one side of the verandah. We have had many people thank us that there is no TV. However we understand that some people may find this unusual. There is unlimited internet access 24/7. We share the garden with a large variety of friendly lizards, birdlife and other native creatures. Margaret Springs and Glenrock State Conservation Area connect to the rear of our property. Just behind the gully is the famous Fernleigh Tunnel and cycleway that goes about 13km through bushland from the city to Lake Macquarie. There are also fabulous bush walks through rainforest, past waterfalls and coastal heathlands to beautiful sandy beaches and lagoons. The Magic Cabin is close to everything! • 2km to major CBD of Charlestown (Charlestown Square) or Westfield, Kotara, • Many restaurants, clubs, Tapas, Pizza, Markets, etc. • Close to many beautiful sandy Beaches • 15 mins drive to Newcastle CBD, • 19 mins to Newcastle University. • Whale watching, dolphins, vineyards. • Boating activities, fishing. Great Fun includes: surfing, ocean swimming pools (Merewether and Newcastle free ocean Baths), fishing, sailing, kayaking, bushwalking, or wine appreciation in the nearby Hunter Valley. Nearest Train station is Broadmeadow (7min drive away). Parking is on street (a very quiet no through road). Newcastle is less than 2 hours drive north of Sydney. The train from Sydney to Broadmeadow usually takes about 3 hours. Newcastle Airport is 45min drive away. The studio has an outdoor seating area for you to sit back and relax with one of the many books available. Pets are allowed however please note the outdoor area is not fenced. There are also 2 dogs that do live in the house upstairs. It is always clean and tidy but at the same time you will feel it is a homey home away from home. There is no air conditioning but there is an over-bed fan and regular on-shore ocean breezes.The guest area is fully carpeted. There are 18 steps in the two flights of stairs to the upper guest area. There is a second bedroom available upstairs with a queen bed for a set fee per night for each extra guest if you desire. If you have a party of 5 or 6 people you can book our extra room downstairs. The SpaceMay you enjoy our charming home on your holiday!! Relaxing by the pool is great fun - we have recliners and umbrellas and pool toys too. It's nicely located - equidistant from everything you may need in The JUNCTION, the cafe strip of HAMILTON/Beaumont Street and THE BEACH (Merewether South)! You can buy essentials across the road or can walk ten minutes to the well-stocked market on Llewellyn St Merewether. The bus stop is one minute away, where you can easily get buses to town/train/elsewhere. We walk around everywhere, or cycle. The beach only takes a few minutes by bike or a flat easy 15 minutes by foot. However car parking at the beaches isn't too much of a problem either. We have some lovely neighbours and the house is in a quiet location. The house and yard are nice and private, there are high ornate ceilings, stained glass features and a fireplace. It has a fantastic backyard and large living areas. The kitchen and laundry are very functional (with a gas stove/oven, a large new fridge, a new dishwasher, new rangehood and new clothes dryer). We've just updated our large bathroom including a great new shower. We have a bath and also a second toilet. We've also laid new carpet and kitchen flooring and updated our sunroom. We have a comfy couch with chaise. We have a few herbs you are very welcome to help yourself to. We have two bedrooms set up for guests which are a good size. Fresh sheets and towels will be supplied, as well as pantry essentials (coffee, tea, condiments). Thank you for your time. The SpaceThe building is security access only and the apartment is located on the first floor with stair or lift access available. A true beachfront experience with blackbutt floors, down lights, modern furnishings and air conditioning throughout. The apartment has a large wrap around balcony to enjoy the stunning views with direct access from the lounge and main bedroom. Merewether Surfhouse on the beach between the ocean baths and the surf club has cafes, kiosks, bars, and fine dining over three levels. The Junction and Darby St has a wide variety of restaurants and cafes and is just 15- 20 minutes walk away from the apartment. Getting AroundBuses are available nearby but you should be able to walk to most locations locally. You may need a car or transport to get to certain attractions and restaurants in the harbour or other areas if you want to explore the Hunter area further. Other Things to NoteA $1000- bond is held by Airbnb on all stays and returned within 72 hours of departure unless it is determined damage has occurred or items are misplaced or stolen. The SpaceThere are 3 bedrooms - queen size, double, single (king-single) and an extra mattress if required to accommodate 6. Please enquire. The queen room has a queen size bed, TV/DVD, desk, chair, ceiling fan and BIR. The double room has a double bed, chair, ceiling fan and BIR. The single room has a king-single bed, desk, ceiling fan and BIR. The guest bathroom/toilet is for guests' exclusive use. The guest lounge room and dining room are air conditioned. The shared patio area off the dining room is covered and fenced. There is an outside hot and cold shower to wash off the sand off you or your surfboard. Ample parking is available on the street. Locked storage is available for bikes or surfboards etc. Guest AccessThere are approximately 12 stairs when entering from the front door. If stairs are a problem, access from rear (two steps) can be arranged. Interaction with GuestsAs you will be sharing the house with the hosts, there will be some minor interaction, but guests have the front of the house and the hosts reside in the rear of the house - areas are divided and paths need not cross - therefore interaction is kept to a minimum. You must like dogs as we have an resident dog - a 12 year old cocker spaniel who is very timid. She is very quiet, will not jump and prefers to just sit. There is also a resident 14 year old cat. She is not child-friendly and thus best that children under 10yo and under do not stay here. The NeighborhoodMerewether Heights is a lovely tree lined, safe neighbourhood. The last leg of the Great North Walk is only a short walk away and takes you through bush down to Burwood Beach where you can walk along the beach to the best beaches in NSW - Merewether, Dixon Park and Bar Beach. Stop for a coffee and lunch at Surf House or Merewether Surf Club cafes and restaurants. Getting AroundA bus stop is 3 doors away and a 15 minute ride will have you in the centre of town. Stop off along the way at Bar Beach or at quality restaurants at The Junction or Darby Street in Cooks Hill. Other Things to NoteA continental breakfast of toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee is included. Tea making is provided. We have resident pets - a cocker spaniel who is very friendly but timid and an inside cat. The SpaceWelcome to Newcastle! The bedroom and guest sitting room has glass doors opening onto a deck which overlooks the rainforest and stream. Guests would have one level of this multilevel house which includes a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. The sitting room has a pullout sofa bed so it is possible to accommodate 3 guests. The bathroom, kitchen and dining room are shared, but the bedroom, sitting room and decks of bedroom and sitting room are solely for guests` use. You have the kitchen to cook in, laundry to use.Plenty of room and space as it is all open plan. The house has ducted heating throughout. The house is close to (short walk) two large movie theaters, many restaurants and a few minutes drive to surf beaches and Newcastle city and harbor. In regards to public transit, Bus services are operated by Newcastle Buses & Ferries. Trips within a designated area of the Newcastle CBD on State Transit-operated bus services are fare-free under the Newcastle Alliance's Free City Buses programme. Additionally, Newcastle is serviced by two CityRail lines. The Newcastle & Central Coast Line has hourly train services to Sydney and more frequent services to the Central Coast. The Hunter Line has twice-hourly services to Maitland and less frequently to Scone and Dungog. I am a very flexible hostess who can provide meals from produce at the local markets a short walk away. Architect designed renovations make this a unique place to be. There is a bus station close by which has destinations at Lake Macquarie, ocean beaches. Hunter Valley vineyards are 45 minutes drive.
