    The SpaceWelcome to Burleigh Heads! We (Graeme & Vivien) have a comfortable bedroom available in our two bedroom apartment in the beautiful 2nd Avenue Beachside Resort located right opposite the great Burleigh Heads beach. The room contains two single beds. You also have your own private bathroom, free wi-fi availability and use of our kitchen during your stay. We are located on level 8 (Unit 8C) so the height is comfortable and not scary. Our building has an outdoor pool as well as a newly renovated indoor area incorporating a well heated pool, hot spa and a great sized steam room. The resort also has a full sized tennis court as well, should you wish to avail yourself of yet another opportunity to exercise! Street parking will be a must, and we have middle of the road parking in Second Ave as well as curb side parking on the Gold Coast Highway. There is great public transport via Surfside Busses and light rail to either Surfers up north or just by bus to Tweed Heads down south. If you use the public transport system then you may wish to buy a Go Discover Gold Coast Card for $10 per day as that offers the cheapest travel costs, and can be used on the bus and light rail. However if you wish to also travel to Brisbane by train then you would want to purchase a Go Card. The cards can be purchased from most 7/11 convenience stores as well as other outlets. The closest 7/11 store to us is on the corner of 5th Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway. The Gold Coast airport is some 15 minutes south, and apart from taxis, Surfside Busses (bus 777) which leaves from outside the Domestic Arrivals area and a Shuttle bus which leaves from outside the International Arrival section of the airport. If you want the cheapest transport from the airport then we recommend that you buy a Go Discover Gold Coast Card from the GC Tourist Shuttle bus desk for $10 for at least the first day of your stay. During your stay, depending where youn wish to travel you may wish to buy a Go Card which can then be top-upped on-board with the bus driver, but you need to do that before you tap-on and do remember to tap-on and tap-off every time you get on and off the bus. We recommend that by the end of your stay you only have a maximum of $30 on your card (including the issuing fee), as at the end of your holiday you can take your card to either of the following local agents and you will receive a refund on any remaining credit, as well as your full deposit: . Nextra Burleigh Heads - Stockland Burleigh Shopping Centre . Varsity Lakes Railway Station (Booking Office) Please note that the refund will be paid in the same manner in which the Go Card was purchased, either by cash or refund to your credit card account. ] The GC Tourist Shuttle bus counter is also the place to go to pick up free brochures for discounts and the 'Get Around Guide'. The Gold Coast Airport transport and Information desk is right outside the International Arrivals and you can see their friendly staff for either the Surfside Buslines or Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle tickets. The Surfside bus number 777 leaves from directly in front of the Domestic arrivals/baggage collection area at the terminal and the bus runs to Broadbeach South Terminal every twenty minutes between the first and last flights of the day, connecting to other services on the Gold Coast Highway. that runs from the airport right up past our Resort at Burleigh Heads to Broadbeach - we are the second stop after the main Burleigh Heads stop, and the stop is called 'Second Avenue' and our Resort is directly across the road. The bus departs 01, 21 and 41 minutes past the hour every hour during the day except for public holidays when you would need to check with Translink to confirm the departure times. Should you decide to catch the Shuttle service the cost will be around $20 each however you may find that you would rather get here quicker and arrive right at the front door of the Resort by taxi at a cost of approx. $45 for the two of you. If you are travelling by train from Brisbane you would catch the Gold Coast train and exit at the end of the line at Varsity Lakes and then catch the number 765 bus service to The Pines that travels along Christine Ave to the Gold Coast Hwy and then travels southward. Do make sure that you exit at the Third Avenue bus stop which is less than 200 metres north from the resort, which is located on the corner of 2nd Ave and the Gold Coast Hwy. For all public transport information please ring Translink on 131230. When it comes to attractions, the Gold Coast is full of them and they range from Theme Parks to the Outback Spectacular horse show, fishing cruises to even Whale watching (in season) PLUS so much more. As for food, there is a nice Take Away place across the road for the quick hamburger or serve of fish and chips and we also have two top surf clubs and a number of eating places within walking distance. For those of you who prefer some vegetarian food there is a great shop in James St Burleigh Heads called Govindas Pure Vegetarian and a number of our guests have commented on how good it is. Then, if you want to really go up market, we even have a revolving restaurant in Broadbeach that not only provides great food but also great views of the coast and hinterland. We guarantee that apart from working on your tan you will love chilling out here as there are plenty of books and DVD's to keep you going should you wish to do nothing but kick back and relax! The last thing you need to consider and take into account is that while the resort is addressed as being at 3 Second Avenue, the physical location of the resort is on the corner of Second Ave and the Gold Coast Highway. This means that street noise may be a factor and even though we are located on the eighth floor, some may still find this unpleasant. To this end ear plugs can help and we do keep a couple of them spare especially for this purpose, should the need arise. The NeighborhoodThe Esplanade strip at Burleigh Heads is definitely quieter and as my grandmother would say, 'more refined' than the hurly burly of Surfers Paradise which is only some 20/30 minutes north by bus and light rail from us. Our resort is close by to the local primary school which on the weekends plays host to a great farmers market every Saturday morning and a general market once a month on the Sunday morning. The Burleigh beach is about as unique as a beach can be. As the beautiful swimming beach stretches south it transforms into a spectacularly accessible landscape of smooth rock pools which fringe the base of Burleigh Head National Park. All easily explored, the natural landscapes are a short walk from each other and are all adjacent to the James Street cafe precinct. Kick back at Burleigh with fresh fish and chips and admire the coastal vista. Getting AroundTranslink through the local Surfside Bus company runs an extensive service that has the Gold Coast Highway as its backbone, and there are regular busses throughout the day that travel from Tweed Heads in the south to the new Interchange at South Broadbeach and then travel by light rail to Surfers Paradise and also Southport and beyond in the North. The use of the local 'Go Card' is recommended as that offers the cheapest fare structure and can be used for both the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas. It cannot be used however once you have gone down south into NSW, as it is only available on the Queensland side of the border. Other Things to NoteArrival and departure times. We are fairly flexible on arrivals and departures as we like to assist guests enjoy their time at Burleigh Heads no matter how short or long their stay is. The catch is that we both work and we do want one of us to be home to welcome you to our place on your arrival, so please do not be disappointed if we cannot allow you access at the time that you would like. Another thing to take into account is that often we have a check out and in on the same day. This has not been a problem in the past, but all we ask is that you give us time to clean the bedroom and bathroom before you occupy your room. Your luggage can be left in the Lounge area in the meantime, while you kick back with a coffee or stronger and enjoy getting to know the Resort and the beautiful surrounds.

I am always available via the internet. My mother and brother live close by to assist. The Neighborhood Burleigh Heads provide the best beaches on the Gold Coast. Saturday farmers market and last Sunday of the month a market lines the beach front. It is safe and clean with always something to do. The local shops around James and Connor street have a fantastic village atmosphere and are packed with cafes, restaurants and independant shops. They are located only 100m from the beach. The southern headland has a small National Park with a well maintained walking track the takes you to several lookouts with stunning views in all directions. Burleigh Heads is located approx 10km south of Surfers Paradise. close enough for nights on the town, yet far enough that you don't have the overcrowding. We are also about 15km north of the Gold Coast Airport yet we have no flight paths overhead, so its nice and quiet. The Gold Coast Hinterland is about 30 min drive with National Parks, Waterfalls, Small country towns and plenty of camping sites. Brisbane is approx 1 hour commute north with the Pacific Motorway taking you right into the CBD. Burleigh has everything you are looking for, with none of the drawbacks of city life.       We live in Burleigh Heads Australia. Close to the beach. Wonderful shine shine most of the time. We are close to all universities and all transport and airports. Great large two storey house with 5 large rooms all with own bathrooms. Come stay and enjoy, We also have a small dog and a cat. Plus bikes for your use to pedal around the coast.

      The SpaceThe space is very private and clearly separate from our house. Mature tropical plants surround the apartment providing a resort feel , though we do not want smokers inside the building there is a garden area where smoking is OK. The kitchen is stocked with appliances, cutlery, crockery and all that you need for meal preparation. A fast induction cook top, kettle, microwave oven and a fridge. We provide Coffee, Tea, Sugar and Milk for your usage, Salt & Pepper condiments. Towels, Shampoo and Conditioner and Hand Sanitiser are also provided for your usage. There is an Electric BBQ available in the Patio Area. Please Note: Whilst the apartment can cater for 4 people , 2 of these would be sleeping in the lounge using the Sofa Bed that folds out (it has a full inner spring mattress and is comfortable) We have added (Oct 2016) a concertina timber door to provide toilet privacy in response to Guest comments. Guest AccessEntry is via a separate door to the apartment, You have exclusive usage of all the areas shown on the Plan. This includes the apartment, the patio area and the small hidden garden area and the single (Secured) car park at the entrance . Additional parking is available on the street outside. Getting AroundGreat transport links to all areas of the coast, including a west to south-east bus stop immediately outside the house providing services to Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach and the Pines Shopping Centre at Elanora. An east to west bus stop is across the road providing services to Bond University, Robina town. The airport is 20 minutes away by car and airport buses stop 600 meters from the house .       The SpaceWalk to the beach, chill on the deck....the choice is yours! My unit is in a quiet block of only 4 units. The neighbours are all friendly and helpful. However, if it is privacy you are looking for then that can be yours too. You will have the place all to yourself! The NeighborhoodQuiet and peaceful yet your are only a 10 minute stroll to the beautiful Gold Coast beach of Miami, shops and more. A short 5 minute drive to the beautiful Burleigh Heads and just 1 hour to gorgeous Byron Bay and all the surrounding hinterland. Check out the Byron markets, climb Mt Warning. Visit the Currumbin Rock Pools. 30 mins to the all fun parks. You will have a holiday to remember in my oasis! If shopping is your thing, then head to Pacific Fair at Broadbeach - 5 minute drive, or Robina Town Centre - 15 minutes drive. Surfers is only 10 mins away by car. Try Nobby's beach restaurants for dinner and you cannot go past Nobby's beach surf club - 10 minutes by taxi. The views are breathtaking. Other Things to NoteTea, coffee and milk are provided to help you get started. For longer stays, it is your responsibility to purchase what you require. Basics as in salt, pepper and olive oil also provide. Please feel free to use whatever is in the cupboard or fridge in way of condiments, etc. This property is not particularly suited to children under the age of 8 due to access to the canal. Children must be supervised at all times. PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING HIGH PEAK SEASON/SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK BOOKING IS REQUIRED.

      The SpaceThe space is on the ground floor of our beach home is spacious and airy and is more like your own private apartment. The large bedroom features fresh decor in aqua and white, has a comfortable queen-size bed, ceiling fan, huge built-in robe and drawers, desk, dining table & two chairs. There is a large modern bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity adjoining the room. A small Kitchenette with plenty of space for meal preparation with a microwave oven, fridge, electric kettle, crockery and cutlery is available to guests. A generous Lounge Room complete with TV and DVD Player, Book Shelves stacked with a variety of books and some Board Games. This room opens out onto a tiled Outdoor Living Area and Saltwater Swimming Pool. So there is plenty of space to relax and unwind which you will pretty much have all to yourself. We have a second room available at extra cost which has a double bed, built-in wardrobe, ceiling fan and direct access to the outdoor living area and swimming pool. This would be perfect for guests travelling with another couple or with older children. Our house has a high fence and an electronic gate which has an access code. It also has a security system so you will feel very safe and secure. Guest AccessDownstairs Bedroom, Kitchenette, Outdoor Living Area, Swimming Pool, Bathroom and Lounge Room. Interaction with GuestsWe live upstairs so you have complete privacy and you are able to come and go as you please. Our two adult children do pop in and out of our home occasionally, but they would never intrude on your privacy. The NeighborhoodClose proximity to the beautiful Burleigh Beach, extensive Parklands fringing the Beach, walking/cycling paths, trendy Cafes & Restaurants just around the corner, Surf Clubs, Shops and even a McDonalds across the street. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop on the main street within 100 metres to our house that takes you anywhere on the Gold Coast you want to go. Bicycles are available for hire on premises for a nominal fee. Parking is available at the front of our premises on the street. There are buses or cabs available from Gold Coast Airport which stop right near our street. For further directions just send us an email. Other Things to NoteTea and coffee making facilities and bottled water is provided in the Kitchenette. We have two dogs: a very friendly laid-back female Labrador dog called Jada and a black Labrador puppy called Stella.

Go whale watching between June and October at Point Danger lookout on the border of Queensland/NSW, or from a number of ocean lookouts on the NSW coast, or get a close-up experience with the whales by booking a whale-watching tour.
