The SpaceOne double bed upstairs in private home. Bathroom for their use is downstairs. Foam mattress available on the floor if a double bed is not a good sharing option. Wifi available. Your hosts are seasoned international travelers who enjoy meeting and hosting others. We do have 2 cats for those who have concerns about allergies. Guest AccessWe make our kitchen available to those guests who would like to make their own meals. We provide coffee or tea but the incidence of dietary restrictions is so great these days that we choose not to provide breakfast. Also our morning schedules are quite variable so we are not always available. I like to know if people are planning on food prep so I can make room in the fridge and am happy to share the incidentals like oil, spices, sugar, etc. Living room and TV room is open to them as well. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to share our whole home with guests - they are welcome to our kitchen and living areas - but are also respectful of the fact that some folks need to have their own space. We always enjoy some conversation and if we need our own space are upfront about communicating that. We also try not to be too demanding on their time as we realize they have come to the area with specific events to attend - but this can be a challenge as our curiosity leads us to want to know them better. AirBNB is such a good way to remind us all that there are lots of good and interesting people in the world! The NeighborhoodQuiet. Open space. Easy access into Middlebury. Close to ski areas for winter fun and to Lake Champlain or Lake Dunmore for summer recreation. Getting AroundSadly not! This is semi-rural Vermont! Other Things to NoteWe are willing to rent the whole house out for events at Middlebury College. The house could accommodate 3 couples - one room with king-size bed, one queen and one double. Mattresses can also be put on the floor if here are more folks. Please contact me for pricing.

We like to give an orientation to the house and are happy to make restaurant recommendations. The NeighborhoodWe live on Chipman Hill, a quiet residential neighborhood overlooking the town of Middlebury and the Champlain Valley. The SpaceIt is less than a five minute walk to Middlebury campus and 'downtown.' Sleeps 2-4 comfortably. There is a fully equipped kitchen so you can cook and eat in and save quite a bit of money. The sofabed is a queen-size American Leather and incredibly comfortable as is the new queen-size bed in the sleeping loft. The floors are heated cement and easy to clean. It is peaceful and comfortable and convenient to all the lovely things that the town has to offer. Not suitable for small children. We may wave cleaning fee for stays of four nights or more. Guest AccessEverything in the house - washer/dryer, bathroom (with shower), full kitchen, tv with cable, wireless internet and so on. Interaction with GuestsWe can provide as much advice as they would like via the telephone or email. We also have a property manager who has lived in the area for many years to meet renters and explain the house and the neighborhood for them. The NeighborhoodCharming, clean, quiet and peaceful. Access to hiking, swimming and skiing are excellent. Fun places to eat and drink a few minutes walk or drive away and, of course, you can attend concerts, shows, sports events and any intellectual events that are open to the public through Middlebury College. Getting AroundNot really although there is a local bus. Other Things to NoteMinimum stay is two nights. Some guests have commented on the steepness of the stairs leading up to the loft. The stairs are steep and, if you prefer, you can sleep on the ground floor in the very comfortable queen-sized sofa bed. Because of the steep stairs and the fact that the loft is open to the floor below (on the stair side), the house is not suitable for small children.

The SpaceOne double bed in a private ranch-style home. Newly renovated shared bathroom. Wifi available. Your host is a seasoned traveler who loves meeting and hosting others. There is a six-year-old cocker spaniel who rules the roost. Guest AccessI would make my kitchen available to guests who would like to make their own meals, if arranged in advance. I provide coffee and tea, but no other meals. If people are planning on food prep, I like to know ahead of time so I can make room in the fridge. Happy to share incidentals like oil, spices, etc. TV room is open to guests and has Netflix and Hulu Plus but no cable. Interaction with GuestsI am happy to share my home with guests - they are welcome to my kitchen and living areas - but I am also respectful of the fact that some folks need to have their own space. I always enjoy some conversation and if we need my own space I am upfront about communicating that. I also try not to be too demanding on their time as I realize they have come to the area with specific events to attend. AirBNB is such a good way to remind us all that there are lots of good and interesting people in the world! The NeighborhoodQuiet street with only two other houses. Very quick walk to town. Fenced-in backyard. And plenty of off-street parking. Getting AroundFree parking in the driveway. Vermont is pretty rural, so I'm not too sure about public transportation options.
