We have lived in the house part-time for eight years, so we can share with you everything you need to know to enjoy your time here. You will have all the modern conveniences and comforts described above, but it is an older house, with slanty floors, imperfect paint, and some second-hand furniture; and we've priced it accordingly. Weekly or monthly rentals, or long-term considered for the right tenant. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available primarily by email and text. We appreciate tenants who are willing/able to be independent and can-do for minor issues. Getting AroundYou will need a car or scooter/motorcycle in these parts. A bicycle could do in the warm weather if you are adventurous. Other Things to NoteWe recycle bottles and cans, compost food scraps, and burn paper/cardboard. As such, we don't have private garbage service. We ask that you take your garbage and recycling to the local transfer station, about 10 minutes drive, on your way out.

This includes our accommodating and well-stocked kitchen (coming from NYC this is a major luxury for us!), an airy loft full of books for your perusal, albums and a record player, instruments and art supplies, outdoor lounging furniture and a large grill. Clean bed linens and towels will be provided. Also, both mattresses are new (as of January 2016) and getting excellent reviews so far! We are one mile away from Skinner's Falls, a pristine area on the Delaware River perfect for picnics, swimming, tubing, fishing and kayak excursions. And if you have a long stay, there is much more we would be happy to share! Cochecton is perfectly situated in the lower Catskills, close to fine dining, shopping, hiking and boating. There are just enough activities to satisfy any vacationer's needs, while leaving time for ample rest and relaxation. Getting AroundIt's easiest to drive to the house; however it is possible to take the Shortline bus from Port Authority directly to Monticello, 25 minutes away. This is a great choice if some guests drive and others come directly from the city via bus; as it really takes a car to make the most of the area.
