The SpaceOur place is located on a quiet dead end street (towards the end). Nice neighborhood. Plenty of parking in the paved driveway but if need be one could park a car or two on the side of the street, it's VERY quiet and laid back. There is a VERY nice walking trail approx 1.6 miles long near the school down the street (approx .6 miles from our place) Convenience store JUST around the corner (Katahdin General Store) has many items you may need but there are two very nice grocery stores in town (Save A Lot and Hannaford Supermarket and Grocery) We have a Webber gas grill that can be used to grill, please make sure you shut the gas off afterwards and clean the grill surface) Great restaurants and bars in town (Scootic In and Rest, Sawmill Bar and Grill, Pelletier's Loggers Rest) as well as a very good pizza joint (Angelo's Pizza Grill 118 Penobscot Ave). If you have ANY questions what-so-ever please don't hesitate to ask. We want to make sure your stay at our place is as enjoyable as possible. 3 Bedrooms, 2 Lofts, 2.5 Baths Kitty's Lake House is a 3 season lakefront vacation home with spectacular views of the sun setting over the mountains and the last hundred miles of the Appalachian Trail traversing Mount Katahdin. One of the most unique properties in the area, this home sleeps up to 10 with all of the beauty Maine has to offer right outside your front door. Hike the tallest peak in Maine (Mt Katahdin), the Grand Canyon of Maine (Gulf Hagas), whitewater class 5 rapids down the West Branch of the Penobscot River or just relax on the beach out front on pristine South Twin Lake. For the avid mountain biker, there are miles of trails starting just off the property and the fall of the year boasts some of the most beautiful foliage in the country. An abundance of wildlife is just beyond your door. Moose, eagles, and deer are sure to be sighted. The loons will lull you to sleep at night and greet you in the morning. The expansive interconnected 5 lake system, dotted with islands and surrounded by vastly undeveloped landscape, provides a unique wilderness experience to enjoy canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The house itself is a one of a kind artist designed home. From it's post and beam 2 and a half story art filled interior you will discover something new each day. You can spend a quiet morning in the library combing over everything from Hemingway to Grisham or listen to the vinyl collection on the house stereo. The 20 foot arch window will give you breathtaking views of the lake and mountains from three different levels and the master bath will give you those same views while relaxing in the jacuzzi. Your children will love exploring and just might find staircases to loft sleeping spaces and a secret room with it's own children's library.A house that will truly appeal to all ages.

The SpaceThe property has two waterfronts. The front of the cabin is facing Mount Katahdin. There are blueberry bushes, and a small beach area. There is also a built-in fire pit that looks over the lake and mountains, surrounded by hammocks, and camp chairs. The back of our property is on a cove, where we have a path that leads to a staircase down to our dock. This cove has calm water, the perfect place to tie up your motorized boat, to fish off of, or jumping in for a swim. Guest AccessYou will have access to two canoes, rafts and floats, lifejackets, firewood, fishing poles, and everything you would expect in a fully operating kitchen. Interaction with GuestsGuests can call me anytime for questions, directions, recommendations, etc. before and while staying on the property. The NeighborhoodOur cabin is on a small Peninsula with seven other cabins. These are all second homes to people either from the town of Millinocket, or Southern Maine. If you know people from DownEast Maine, then you know how friendly and helpful they are. We found it nice to have neighbors, as they will always look out for you, and help in a pinch. Summer tends to see the other cabins inhabited off and on throughout the summer. The remainder of the year, you may find yourself the only inhabitants on the peninsula! Getting AroundYou need your own vehicle to stay here. This cabin is in the great North Woods of Maine Other Things to NoteOur hot and cold running water is pumped from the lake, as most cabins up here are. The water is not for drinking or cooking. You must bring in your own water for consumption. There is a spring a half mile from the cabin, that you can use for cooking and drinking water. You must bring your own sheets. There are two full size beds, one bunk bed, and one twin size bed.

The SpaceThe “See-Da-Lake Estate” Property Profile General information: This property is unlike anything else rent-able in this area. It is not your typical “seasonal camp” but rather is an exquisite “year-round” home. A 100% cedar log home situated on the shore of Cedar Lake, a crystal-clear, spring fed, semi-wilderness lake. The lot is a beautiful mix of Cedar, Hemlock, and Birch trees interspersed with Granite boulder. The waterfront swim area is all "sugar” sand with a very gradual slope off, an excellent swimming area for the smallest of children. The lake's major fishery includes trout, salmon, splake, and white perch. Views from the waterfront to the opposite shore are of unspoiled pristine wilderness (no other camps) and Mattamiscontis mountain. It is located about 10 miles south of Millinocket, Maine (pop. ~5,000) via Rte 11 and an additional 5 miles into the Maine woods along a well maintained dirt access road. The NeighborhoodGeneral information: This property is unlike anything else rent-able in this area. It has an attached 2-car garage, an elevated porch overlooking the lake, and has a fully automatic emergency electrical generation system in the event of any power failure. The log home will sleep up to 10 persons. A Master bedroom overlooks the lake and sleeps 2 in a queen bed, a twin bed in another main floor room sleeps 1, a guest bedroom on a lower level sleeps 2 in a queen bed plus 1 in a twin bed, the upper level loft sleeps 2 in a double bed, and the “Great room” couch pulls out to make another double bed sleeping 2 more. The SpacePlease read the entire listing for important guest information before booking!! This camp/cabin is all hand crafted the traditional Maine way with lots of pine and ceder. The great room has a vaulted timber frame ceiling with a hugh slate gas log fireplace. There is a very large outdoor firepit with log benches for you to enjoy the campfire. Two ceiling fans for warm days. The glass enclosed sitting area overlooks the water which is only 25 feet away and has a wood stove. There is an expansive wrap around outside deck to enjoy the view. Upon entering one will instantly notice the beautiful slate floor. The camp/cabin has 3 bedrooms upstairs. One has a double bed. One has 2 twin beds and one has bunk beds. The top bunk is better suited for someone small. The loft has a double futon. There is also a double futon in the great room. That is a total sleeping space for 10. I do provide sheets, pillows, and quilts. Please bring your own towels There is an inside 1/2 bath and a private outside shower with hot water and a marvelous view. There is also an additional outhouse. There is a trail through the woods leading to a private sand beach and the 2nd dock in a beautiful cove. You are welcome to bring your own small boat or jet skis and use the 2 docks. We also have blueberry bushes so fresh blueberries are available in season. This camp will allow you to relax. It is rustic yet has many conveniences. Running water is from the lake. There is drinking water from a nearby mountain spring should you choose to use it. Blue containers are in the Camp to use for storing spring water. Directions will be provided to the spring (Drink at your own risk) or you can bring your own bottled drinking water which is recommended. There is hot water and electric along with fridge, microwave and electric range. Cookware, dishware and eating utensils are provided. There is a wood stove and gas log fireplace for heat. The original gas lights are still in the camp and give it that special woodsy feel! Please keep in mind that this is a camp and not a house. It is on a dirt road about 3 miles from pavement and the driveway is dirt so there is going to be dust. Keep in mind that you are in the wilderness and there can also be bugs, spiderwebs etc. I do my best to keep it as clean as possible but there is no way to keep it as one would a house. This is a rustic camp and if you are looking for perfection this is not for you!! It is not perfect but is the most perfect spot on the planet! Please come with a love for the outdoors and an appreciation of what this spot has to offer. Built with a sense of adventure, love and fun in mind. My wish is that people can enjoy the full Katahdin/Northwoods experience and have memories for many years to come! Ambajejus Lake is part of Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes that is 14 miles long and is the fifth largest body of water in Maine. It is still a true wilderness lake with much of it undeveloped. The loons are plenty and are one of my favorite things to look forward to as well as the resident eagles and many other birds. Guest AccessThere are 2 canoes and a tandem kayak on the property. The hugh fire pit overlooks the lake and is surrounded by log benches and 3 hammocks. There is a private sand beach on the cove side along with the 2nd floating dock. A gas grill and high powered propane burner are also provided. Interaction with GuestsPlease feel free to call or text at any time before and during your stay should you have questions. I am here to help make your stay special and memorable. I can assist with guide service or just recommended what ever you might be looking for. I have a 5th wheel camper back behind the camp in the upper driveway turnaround that I use. You will pass it on the way in. I can't see the camp from where I am. The trees are thick and there is also a shed in between. You won't see me unless you need something. I do respect your privacy. I will great you on the way in if I am there. I also have a caretaker nearby should something need to be looked after. The NeighborhoodThe Great North Woods and Baxter State Park are your playground. So much to explore! There is a Trading Post very close with convenience items that also makes food and has wonderful clothing and souvenirs. Next to the Trading Post there is a very nice Pub and a Restaurant. River Drivers Restaurant is very close on Millinocket Lake. Town is 15 minutes and has 2 grocery stores. I like the Hannaford across the street from McDonald's. There is a Laundromat. Town also has several more places to eat. I recommend the Appalachian Trail Cafe for breakfast. Getting AroundThe area has Baxter State Park Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument Appalachian Trail Penobscot River Northwoods Trading Post Moose Watching Whitewater Rafting Hiking Canoeing Kayaking Guides & Tours Fly Fishing Boating Skydiving - Raft and Skydive in the same day Bird Watching/Loons and Eagles galore!
