The SpaceWe have a guest room for your privacy, but if you are a large group or adventurous person you can sleep anywhere on the tatami mats. Guest AccessThis is a community home where you will meet friendly new people. We respect your privacy and ask that you please be mindful of ours. Interaction with GuestsWe eat a family-style Japanese dinner together every day around 19:00 (7PM), and you are welcome to join us for an authentic Japanese dining experience.
This house is not a hotel. Please be aware that we are in the middle of a renovation project, so not everything is completely tidy and organized. Of course, we perform daily cleaning chores, and the residents and I regularly give the home a thorough cleaning. We do our best to ensure that your guest room is clean and tidy. The NeighborhoodWe can offer you a tranquil escape from city life and the opportunity to experience the culture and daily life of our rustic Japanese village here in the mountains.
We have many local events and festivals year-round, so please let me know if you would like details about what's happening during your stay. Getting AroundIt is only a short distance from Misashima Station, but you may want to use a taxi because it is a steep mountain road.
The local trains stop at Misashima Station every 1.5 hours, but the main station in Tokamachi has more frequent train service to suit your traveling needs. Other Things to NoteA morning breakfast is not part of our Japanese culture, so the other residents are not used to preparing breakfast. If you would like to share or prepare a morning breakfast, please let me know so I can help arrange accommodations.
Because our village is a rural one, it is possible that you may see a few wild animals. Depending on the weather, you may also experience insects in the area. We keep insects away from the house with insect repellent burners, but please bring bug spray if you are worried about getting a bug bite.
