(PLEASE TEXT for specific parking directions. Guest House has a different driveway than owner's property.) Interaction with GuestsWe live in the larger main house that shares the 1-acre property. We like to greet you in person, then get out of your way. But if you enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings, we'd love to join you. Lola, the resident mutt, will probably come around to greet you. She loves to fetch and will probably bring some balls to the front door for you. We are available by text or phone. Please help yourself to breakfast with items provided; milk, juice, coffee, tea, breakfast breads, eggs, frozen waffles, yoghurt, bacon/sausage, assorted cereals, pancake mix, as well as some snacks and dinner items in the pantry. Refrigerator is stocked with assorted soft drinks, milk, tea and a "treat" or two. Your comfort is our #1 priority. The NeighborhoodGuest home is located in a VERY quiet, ultra-safe neighborhood of 1-acre horse properties and open parcels of land. We have 3 friendly horses next door who share our back fence and who love a carrot or two (provided in the fridge) when they are out in their corral. Getting AroundNo public transportation, but 3 miles directly off Highway 395. We are in the Johnson Lane unincorporated area, exactly 8 miles from either downtown Minden or Carson City, which has a large number of stores (Costco, Kohl's, Trader Joe's, etc.), restaurants (Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, etc.) and lots of local great restaurants and attractions, like the Nevada State Railroad Museum and the Nevada State Capital. This is a perfect base camp for Reno and Tahoe events and casinos, and family snow trips. We are an easy 30 min. drive to Tahoe, 45 min. to Reno, 35 min. to Virginia City and 6 min. to Genoa, which is Nevada's Oldest Settlement and has many antique shops and fun bars/restaurants. Other Things to NoteIf you have little ones, we provide a high chair, walker, umbrella stroller, portable crib, Bumbo, tricycles and toys/basketball. We also have poker table top and clay chips for the adults! LOTS of DVDs, books and games are provided in the house. 1/2 mile from community park with basketball courts, baseball diamond, and elementary school playground.
