Once inside the park the lodges and interpretive center at Longmire and Paradise are less than 1 hours drive, and with lots to see along the way. It is a quiet setting. Due to the nature of the area - lots of snow in winter - almost all rental cabins in the area are in neighborhoods. This is so there is access to the properties during times of heavy snow. So, I do have neighbors (only one (email: hidden)s there full-time), however once you are on the property it is heavily wooded and partially fenced offering a great deal of privacy. There are trails near by and tons of wildlife!
