Peppertree Cottage Peppertree is a century old restored settlers cottage amid extensive cottage gardens in peaceful rural surroundings, Peppertree is an ideal base for exploring the Clare Valley. Peppertree is one of very few settlers cottages in a tranquil rural setting available for short term rent in the Clare Valley. The cottage is ideal for groups of up to 6 friends looking to discover good food and wine around the valley also for those who are seeking peace and quiet. Peppertree is an ideal base for working groups looking for accommodation in the area for longer stays. Peppertree was built in the 1850’s by Charles Simeon Hare who ran a dairy and commercial garden supplying milk and vegetables to the bullockies who took the copper ore from Burra to Pt Wakefield. Your booking ensures exclusive use of the cottage. Living area: Spacious area with 3 comfy sofas, tv, dvd & log burning slow combustion fire. Wood is supplied for the fire, we do ask you to be sensible about use as it now costs $280 a tonne. Air conditioner. Slate floor with rug. Coffee table & lamp table, games table. Cooking : Full stove, microwave and electric frying pan, pots and pans, tea towels. Dining: Up 2 steps from the kitchen in the dining room is the century old loading ramp table Good crockery, cutlery and glasses, coffee cups, a tea pot and a coffee plunger. Provisions: Tea, coffee, biscuits, sugar, salt & pepper, sauce, bread, spreads, milk, juice, butter, bacon & eggs Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a king bed: bedroom 2 has a queen bed: bedroom 3 has 2 king single beds. (3) Bedroom 2 is up 2 steps from the living area. Electric blankets, blankets and quilts are on all beds. All linen is provided. Bathroom: Up 2 steps, the shower is at floor level, towels etc. provided. Hair drier. Separate Toilet. Outside: BBQ and outdoor dining furniture under cover overlooking the lawn & cottage garden, longer rural views. Lots of parking, ...also suitable for commercial vehicles if required ( not under cover). A huge slab of locally quarried Mintaro slate is used as a coffee table . Shady Peppertrees' butt up to the front veranda. Laundry. Pets: By prior arrangement only you are welcome to bring a well behaved small or medium size dog . Please make arrangements at the time of booking & bring all bedding, we have feed and water bowls. Please note while the entire area does not have dog proof fencing the spacious outdoor dining and BBQ area is fenced with pool style fencing, the cottage is well clear of any roads . Dogs are welcome to join you inside but not on furniture please, if you think your little dog may join you on the couch please bring a cover for the couch. Dogs are not to be left in the cottage if you are not there. On your departure we ask that we find no trace of your pet inside or outside, charges may apply.
