The SpaceHERITAGE HOME Millers House is a comfortable self contained heritage listed, cira 1859, stone cottage of great character set in the heart of historic Mintaro in the Clare Valley wine region of South Australia a pleasant 90 minute drive north of Adelaide. BEDROOMS The house has 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has a double bed and 2 single beds and bedroom 3 has 2 single beds. All linen is provided. KITCHEN & LIVING There is a well equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge and a spacious dining room. The 3 living rooms have open wood fire places and in the winter months the fires are set and the wood is chopped and stacked on the back verandah . THE HOUSE The house has original Mintaro slate floors and there are wide shady slate verandahs around the house offering fine rural views. The house set on 3 acres of land and is quietly located in the township. WINERIES You can walk to wineries and restaurants in the town. Millers House is an ideal base to explore some of the many wineries in the Clare Valley, visit Martindal Hall featured in the film Picnic at Hanging Rock, and to walk or cycle the 26km Riesling Trail. You will find quality cafes restaurant and vineyard lunches in the Valley. NOTE A 2 night booking is requested ,4 nights over Easter and 3 nights on SA long weekends . The NeighborhoodThe township of Mintaro is a State classified heritage area and Millers House is a heritage listed property. The town is the home of the Mintaro slate quarry which still produces quality slate. The town has changed little in the past century and we suggest you explore the town on foot to see how the slate is used in buildings in the town and to enjoy the beautiful gardens of the homes. Getting AroundHaving your own car is the easiest way to explore the Valley and you can park your car in the grounds at Millers House. Taxis are available and you can arrange hire a car and driver to provide a guided tour.

    The Old Redruth Methodist Church is somewhere out of the ordinary to stay whilst discovering the history and charm of Burra and its surrounding districts. Just a short 20 minute drive to the Clare Valley. All the modern conveniences within a character filled building, lofty ceilings with commanding timber beams and beautiful stained glass windows. Very spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests. Catering for romantic getaway to family holidays.

      Hallelujah Hideaway is a renovated 1930s farm house located between the Clare Valley and Barossa Valley wine regions, 90 minutes from Adelaide. It provides modern conveniences such as digital TV, WIFI, sound system and air conditioning in an olde worlde setting. The house offers a tranquil base from which to explore the local attractions; see kangaroos, emus and other wildlife; watch native birds on the dam and in the wooded hills on the 180 acre property; tramp the renowned Heysen Trail; or just relax on the front verandah overlooking the Hallelujah Hills while reading a book with a glass of wine within reach. (In front of the fire if its cold!) Explore the nearby towns of Burra, Kapunda, Eudunda and Robertstown where points of interest range from Australia's first copper mine, craft and antique shops, to Lehman's Store which hasn't changed for nearly 100 years. Good meals can be had at Burra and legendary country pub meals can be enjoyed at the Robertstown and Point Pass hotels. Or cook at home in the well equipped country kitchen or on the barbecue outside. Receive a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival. Supplies for a cooked or continental breakfast for the first morning are provided. The area was settled by mainly German settlers in the mid 1800s. Many of the early farms failed leaving the area rich with ruins of farmhouses and old farming equipment which can be explored. While the lowlands have been cleared, the Hallelujah Hills have been left wooded and provide a home for kangaroos, emus, lizards, galahs, lorikeets, eagles and other wild-life. A herd of feral deer also roam the Hills. Local scenic attractions include the Wold's End suspension footbridge, the Burra Creek Gorge, Red Banks Conservation Park, the Heysen Trail, the Tothill Range, Burra copper mine. Robertstown is home to Lehman's General Store which still operates as it did about 100 years ago with the addition of modern refrigeration. Clare and the Barossa Valley where South Australia's renowned wines may be sampled and purchased are within easy reach.

        This quaint 4 bedroom cottage located in Burra South Australia, is fully furnished with reverse cycle air-conditioning. Situated on walking trail is close to the main street for restaurants and shops. There are 3 double rooms and one single room. All linen and towels are provided. There is a children's bath & free breakfast supplies. The cottage features a slow combustion wood fire and also reverse cycle air conditioning. Wood is provided and I like to have the fire going when u arrive in winter. I have put a milkshake maker in the kitchen and syrups in the stocked pantry. A stay at the Pig is warm and cozy. We offer in house Therapeutic massage by local Masseur Anthony, by appointment. All the beds have electric blankets and the rooms are spaced out so you can have some privacy if staying as a group. The huge garden offers a great play area for the kids with BBQ and there is an outdoor smoking area. The cottage is currently being booked as corporate accommodation by several parties because its nice. Have a romantic stay in Burra, wood fires wine, first class restaurants, quaint coffee shops..Burra can cater for families, couples and singles. There is so much to do in Burra for all ages. One night stays MON - THURS ONLY, ...............if agreed week ends for an extra cleaning fee of $50. The Clare Valley wine area is just over the hill, Burra is set in a valley where winter fires warm the cockles. Walking trails wind around the town and surrounding hills. Burra is a clutch of culinary delights, quite unique to the area. Authentic Italian and Indonesian, quaint coffee/ gift shops and designer clothing. If its pubs you want we have 4, 2 with pokies. The surrounding towns offer ridge top drives with breathtaking views and beautiful gorges. Burra also has a swimming pool.

The NeighborhoodWe love Burra, we'll feel very safe, we know nearly everyone there, "of course their's more dirt and insects" Burra is a quiet place, there are plenty of places to eat from roadie, Bakery, trad Italian restaurant, 3 pubs, coffee shops, antique shops, the Clare Valley Wineries (20 minute Drive), the Heritage trail in Burra, visit the old Goal, Cellars, Dugouts, Lock up, Remnants of the Mine. If you enjoy bushwalking, theres Burra George, Redbanks, the Mawson Trail. Getting AroundWell walking or riding is a great way to get around, make sure you have warm clothes and gloves, shops are 3 mins walk. Heritage trail is easier in a vehicle. Interaction with GuestsThe B&B is attached to our residential home however you have your own private entry and car park. You are given privacy throughout your stay however if you require anything or simply would like to chat we aren't far away! The NeighborhoodMintaro is a small town about a 15 minute drive from the surrounding towns of Clare, Auburn, Sevenhill and the famous 'Riesling Trail'. The town itself has a local Pub (the Magpie & Stump) serving meals Wednesday - Sunday and Reilly's Cellar door & restaurant which does lovely lunches! Both only a short walk away from the the B&B. We are blessed here in the Valley to be surrounded by so many cellar doors and places to eat only a short drive away... we have included a list of our recommendations in your room information booklet!

Everyone is friendly and happy for visitors to join in social activities ie pub on Friday Night. Two wineries in town. Reillys Restaurant for daytime meals and coffee, Magpie and Stump pub for meals Wed - Sat available. Look up Mintaro on web. Best restaurant with food that is a mix of colour, taste and texture is Terroir in Auburn. Dan Moss, innovative chef and owner of Terroir restaurant in Auburn, is one of five finalists in the ‘appetite for excellence' Australian Young Restaurateur 2015 awards, and the only finalist from South Australia. Seed Wine bar and restaurant is also a must for dining. Tapas and slow cooked lamb a specialty. Paulett Wines' Bush Devine Cafe is great place for lunches overlooking the Polish River Valley'. Getting AroundNo public transport but we can assist where necessary. Other Things to NoteSmoking is permitted on the verandah but not inside. Outside heating can be provided if needed in cold weather.

        The SpaceThe cottage is a piece of history with mod cons. Continental breakfast provided. Air conditioned. The garden is huge and great for families, or romantic stays. Washing machine to suit working long term guests. Log fire, Milkshake maker, Hair dryer, Robes. there are two toilets. There is a TV. I love meeting people and showing off our great town and if you need me I'm only a ph call away. I'm a hands on Host. The NeighborhoodThe cottage is on the famous Heysen Trail. Burra is a historic mining town and more recently a town where movies are made. Russell crows latest movie, The Water Diviner was partially filmed here and Russell was in town with the crew for two weeks. Getting AroundYou can walk to the main shopping and dining precinct. But you may need a car to access some of the tourist sites. Other Things to NoteI don't allow dogs and there is only smoking outside the cottage. If you require a theraputic, and I mean theraputic only massage, a Local masseur will come to the cottage, you ring and make your own appointment. You are charged by the bedroom so if you need extra rooms you will be charged. One night stays incur an extra $25 fee.

            We are a small old style country hotel. One of the 100 year old beautiful stone buildings in SA. Close to the Clare Valley Wine Region and the historic copper mines of Burra this is an ideal jumping of point to tour the area. Lots of walking and riding trails. Martindale Hall and the Mintaro Maze are only 4kms away from the property. An amazing character home with your own private entrance and free parking. Locally sourced Mintaro slate floors throughout and original slate wall in the kitchen - not to mention the decorative Simpson oven. Plush double bed with original cast iron and brass frame. There is also the option of a single small bed for a child over the age of 3 years. A large flat screen TV in the lounge with free to air channels. A private bathroom with shower, toilet and claw foot bath. A bathroom welcome pack will also be provided on arrival at no extra cost. Breakfast provisions will be supplied as well. Supplies include: Selection of cereal, fresh milk, loaf bread, butter, variety of conserves, Vegemite, tea/ coffee, sugar. There are many great places to eat in the Clare Valley, stay local and visit Reilly's or the Magpie & Stump pub for hearty meals. If you venture further afield, there are a great selection of eateries in the centre of Clare to cater for all tastes. There are open wood fires in the 3 living rooms. In the cooler months the fires will be set ready to light and firewood provided and stacked on the back verandah for you. Peppertree is one of very few settlers cottages in a tranquil rural setting available for short term rent in the Clare Valley. The cottage is ideal for groups of up to 6 friends looking to discover good food and wine around the valley also for those who are seeking peace and quiet. Peppertree is an ideal base for working groups looking for accommodation in the area for longer stays. Peppertree was built in the 1850’s by Charles Simeon Hare who ran a dairy and commercial garden supplying milk and vegetables to the bullockies who took the copper ore from Burra to Pt Wakefield. Your booking ensures exclusive use of the cottage. Living area: Spacious area with 3 comfy sofas, tv, dvd & log burning slow combustion fire.
