The NeighborhoodMintaro is regarded by many as "The heart of the Clare Valley" as its within easy reach of all the small towns which make up the Clare Valley, and a half an hour drive to Burra .
Peppertree is a sensitively restored century old settlers cottage with lots of creature comforts nestled in extensive cottage gardens in the middle of our farm. Peace and quiet, birds and starry nights are a great feature at the cottage. Getting AroundYou will need your own transport to get to Peppertree and to get around the Clare Valley. There is a local taxi company based in Clare and a couple of companies offering local tours.
When you arrive at Peppertree you will find a good supply of local information and brochures. Other Things to NoteA supply of wood will be left, some inside the cottage and some by the rear door. As wood now costs us over $270 per tonne we ask that you make sure you stay warm but please don't pile too much wood onto the fire as it is only wasted. Overnight load the fire up with big pieces of wood and turn the damper back, ( located underneath the front ate of the fire on the left hand side, move it to the right to slow it down overnight, the fire should continue to burn slowly over night, then in the morning open the damper and pop in some smaller wood to get it stoked. Please consider the environment while you are staying and turn off lights etc if you are not going to be at the cottage during the day.
